Fala Chen says that this return to Hong Kong has a tight schedule, but she would still meet with a director. She hopes to be able to come in contact with more suitable role that she is interested in
courtesy of mingpao.com

Fala Chen yesterday as a milk powder spokesperson on the Hong Kong Avenue of Stars presided over the opening ceremony of Hong Kong's first large-scale tulip bouquet art installation.

Fala would only stay for 24 hours when she returned to Hong Kong this time, and did not bring a pair of children with her. She said with a smile that she no longer needed to show her daughter the red carpet like the Hong Kong Film Awards, as the children were already used to her working overseas. Yet every time she got off the plane and arrived at the hotel, she would video chat with her children. She revealed that when she went to Australia and Europe to make films before, and her daughter could accompany her during the holidays and her two-year-old son was still young. The film company permitted her to bring her family to the film shoot, and now she was able to take care both her family and career. She said that the children were used to follow her to work in different places, through which she would cultivate their curiosity and spirit of exploration. Fala said that she was not disappointed with the Hong Kong Film Awards loss, because she did not have much expectations. Acting could not be compared, and she was already very happy to be nominated.

Fala's first short film as a writer, director, and producer was in post-production, and she said that she would listen to opinions repeatedly and edit it. Currently the film was preparing sound effects, and would set a release date after participating in the world premiere at the film festival. The work had a horror subject and set in the American Western Desert in the 50s of the last century. The male and female leads were young actors of Chinese heritage, namely Ben Wang, who has worked with Jackie Chan in THE KARATE KID, and Michelle Mao, who took part in the hit series BRIDGERTON. With three jobs already Fala had no way to take a role as well. She said that she would show her finished product to Nick Cheung Ka Fai first for advice. She praised him for having his own way to handle everything while making PEG O' MY HEART (SHOOK MUNG) and was very worthy of respect. The film shot from the start of filming last summer to the end of the year, and it would take a lot of time for post-production.

Regarding rumors that she will take part in the filming of the Ang Lee directed "Golden Mountain" and co-star with Zhang Ziyi, Fala said that she has indeed been contacted earlier but there was no follow- up due to the change in the direction of the script. She still looked forward to working with director Ang Lee. She emphasized that she was not limited to developing in the United States, she would go wherever there was a job and hoped to make Hong Kong films again. She would also have a meeting with Hong Kong directors after today's event, but due to confidentiality she did not reveal any detail.

Mother's Day is approaching. Fala said that three generations would celebrate together every year, and Mama and the grandchildren have been close. This year her daughter would attend several classmates' birthday parties, and Mama was also on holiday. Thus she would find another time to celebrate. She said that children often would give her gifts normally, so they would not have to wait for Mother's Day. Her daughter often gave her drawings and explained them, which was so sweet. She hoped that her daughter would play freely, as she would not want to limit her too early. She would prepare brushes, watercolors and other tools for her to create freely. Her son liked music, would dance with his sister and also love to play the piano and guitar. Would she let her children develop in the entertainment industry? Fala said, "Art and the entertainment industry are two different things, but it would depend on the children's personal developments. As for whether it would become their tools to make a living, it would be up to them."

COLD WAR 1994 is scheduled to open today, and the latest "special training highlights" have been unveiled. Playing the young version of Lee Man Bun, Terrance Lau Chun Him fought from beginning to end, and staged a series of gunfights, car chases and hand-to-hand combat with the underworld leader "Mr. Yuen" Louise Wong Dan Nei; the film company also announced that it will collaborate with local cartoonist Wong Shui Pan to launch an exclusive art exhibition, character card drawing event and the "COLD WAR Wine and Music Fest".

Ah Him and Louise "joined forces" and together with Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun in the teahouse fought their way out with the enemy in close combat and under a rain of bullets. In one of the scenes Ah Him and Louise drove a motorcycle at high speed to escape the chase, and in order to present the most realistic sense of chase speed, the crew specifically applied for a road block on the East Kowloon Corridor in the early morning for live filming with special effects to create a high-energy speeding scene.

Ah Him even "risked his life", not only fighting to the death with the enemy in a high-speed vehicle, but most of his body was thrown out of the car and his head was only a few inches from the road. On the tarmac of Kai Tak Airport still in heavy rain, he and Angus Yeung Tin Yue fought at close range from the outside of the high-speed vehicle.

Director Longman Leung Lok Man praised Ah Him for being "capable of drama and action", had solid firearms training and an unlimited future; although Wong Dan Nei was making her debut in an action movie, she worked just as hard as Ah Him. Her eyes were in character, and her performance felt like she has been through hundreds of battles and did not look like that of a novice in action movies at all.

Wong Dan Nei also said that this is her first film to officially receive special training in martial arts and firearms. The intensive training has made her realize that her long limbs had advantages in sparring and camera presentation. Although she was physically exhausted, she was very satisfied with the ideal results every time. She always felt that she had "a good time from the fight" at the end of work.

In order to cope with the series of fierce battles, the crew has arranged for all the actors to undergo hellish special training two months before filming began. None of the police organized crime unit and the mob camp were spared, covering hand-to-hand combat, boxing, kicks and difficult throws. Among them playing the role of a senior inspector, Mandy Tam Man Huen challenged an action movie for the first time and showed ruthlessness "that would rival men's" together with Wong Dan Nei.

Dee Ho Kai Wah stated that shooting a gun was even harder than close distance combat, and he thanked Kevin Chu Kam Yin and Wong Yik Ho for sharing their experience in action scenes. "The close combat could rely on camera angle accommodations sometimes, but the gun holding pose truly relied completely on my own to grasp."

Playing the gangster's protégé, Ngai Chun Sun said with a smile that his main task was to "be beaten all the time", but actually he also personally performed action scenes and did not take it easy.

It was one day in late February, with the entrance exams over and graduation just around the corner. Amid the government's increasingly strict surveillance, the students of Class 3-E looked back on their year with Korosensei.

Memories resurfaced the fading doodles they drew on Professor Bitch, the special swimming lessons, the clashes with the students of Class A, and Valentine's chocolates. The classroom bustled with nostalgic conversations.

Meanwhile, during winter break, Korosensei was targeted by a group of four assassins, but as always, he easily dodged their attacks. Later, when he visited the izakaya they frequented to tease them, he ended up saving the blind owner, Azusa, who was burdened with debt, and her daughter Hotaru, from a certain incident.

Through this encounter, Korosensei once again strengthened his resolve: to accept his fate, yet fulfill his duty as a teacher with all his might until the very end.

Another day began as usual. The students of Class 3-E continued their attempts to assassinate Korosensei before the school year ended, while Korosensei, with a smile, deflected their attacks and praised their growth.

And in the ending, the "graduation album" Korosensei's final task reveals a glimpse of their future, leading into the series finale.

[2026.04.30] SISLEY CHOI HOPES TO WORK WITH WONG KAR WAI AND SYLVIA CHANG AFTER WORKING WITH STEPHEN CHOW

Alina Lee has been so busy with planning her wedding that she has not picked out her wedding ring yet.

After leaving television, Sisley Choi reveals that she has many films in negotiation.

Sisley Choi intends to start her own company to field jobs.

Alina Lee admits to being forgetful and afraid of losing her wedding ring, so she would get a cheaper one.

Sisley Choi Si Bei, MAGIC VOICE trainees Kaniss Yu Ho Ching, Ellyn Ngai Lok Lam, Sabrina Mendes (Song Yuen Wing), Victoria Lee Wan Ngan, Philip Ng Wan Lung and his girlfriend Renee Lee Man Ying, Alina Lee Yan Yi, Celina Harto (Chan Ching Yi) and others attended the movie THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2's Hong Kong premiere the night before.
Choi Si Bei appeared in a cheongsam, saying that she wanted to bring out Chinese fashion. She visited Nepal for seven days earlier and felt helpless that a local girl was forced to drop out of school and marry because of child marriage at the age of 10. She revealed that she has sponsored a family after this visit, and has previously sponsored three children.

Does she have more space to do charity work after her appointment with TVB has just expired? She admitted that now is the best time to do charity. Speaking of Ali Lee Kai Sum's participation in the Hong Kong version of "LONG VACATION" for ViuTV after leaving the nest, Choi Si Bei admitted that she noticed and was happy for her. She believed that actors have their own dramatic connections. Have other companies beckoning to her? She said that she had movies and stage plays in negotiations, and she wanted to develop into the film industry in the future. She would like to work with Wong Kar Wai and Sylvia Chang Ai-chia the most, already fulfilled one of her dreams after working with Stephen Chow Sing Chi but their movie WOMEN'S SOCCER's release date remained unknown; as for whether she will form her own company, she said she had this idea but she had to take it step by step.

Would she like to be the long term "Sing Girl"? She immediately offered, "I would be very happy to have this opportunity because he is a god in the film industry. Many artists want to work with him. I feel working with him once wasn't enough, because there are too many possibilities that I hope this director (Stephen Chow Sing Chi) would discover." Has he yelled at her? She said, "I don't consider that as getting yelled at, he very generously shared his ideas with me so I would be properly perform. If a director would be unwilling to communicate, I would be upset instead."

Yu Ho Ching watched the movie with a group of trainees of the MAGIC VOICE and admitted that she has watched videos for her homework beforehand. Regarding the stern boss in the film, she recalled that when she was a surveyor before entering the industry, her boss scolded her for making a mistake at work and she once doubted herself. As a front-of-the-screen and assisting mediator, she joked that she liked to be busy and able to balance them for the time being. As for participating in "A Date with Goddess 2", she joked that if she would find Prince Charming she would spend 70% of her time dating and 30% of her time working in the early stages. Then she would change the ratio after the relationship would stabilize. She pointed out that she has asked male friends to participate in the recruitment, and of course the project even had "hot properties" like the humorous and beautiful Juliana Kwok Pui Man, and the virtuous and homebody Mandy Yuen Ka Man. She considered herself as a funny person who would be able to bring joy to everyone. Did she have any suitor who would like to take part on the program? She said, "Some people say they don't want to appear on camera, so they say why not meet for dinner privately." She joked that she has received many suitor's dinner invitation text messages. She could just resign from Goddess 2 but she said with a smile, "No, let's wait and see first!"

Stanley Yau Si Chun's fiancé Lee Yan Yi talked about screwing up on holiday. She once booked a 19 person dinner for 4 people. Although the bill showed 930 euros (about 9,300 Hong Kong dollars), she finally received an email asking her for 875 euros (about 8,750 Hong Kong dollars). She joked that it was like a birthday party for herself. Her fiancé Yau Si Chun after finding out was not surprised. She pointed out that the two were financially independent, revealing that the 6-member sister group for the year-end wedding has been formed. However she has not yet bought a wedding ring. Because she was worried that she would lose it, she would get a cheaper one.

Stanley has always had a good relationship with Keung To. Earlier he joked that he was afraid Keung To would not help much, he would not consider inviting him to be in his wedding party. Regarding Keung To often said that he wanted to steal the groom, Alina joked, "Take him!" As for parenthood plans, she said that she has not thought about it but not planned it yet. First she would have to wait for Stanley to have time, because she would not want to raise the child by herself after giving birth to it.

Aiko Hamaguchi's husband James Ng Yip Kwan has been considering forming his own company and self-financing his song releases after his contract with TVB Music Group (TMG) ended. Aiko Hamaguchi said that she would support her husband's decision and not worry about affecting their future life quality. She said that her husband would work very hard and would not reduce the family allowance. She earlier revealed in a video that she would like to return to Japan. Aiko Hamaguchi said with a smile that she only wanted to return home for the cherry blossoms, not because she could not adapt to life in Hong Kong. She liked Hong Kong very much. Ng Kwan Yu postponed to parenthood plan for his career, and she agreed that they were in no rush to have a child. "I too have to work hard on learning to be independent, I hope to immerse into life in Hong Kong and have more work."

[2026.04.30] LO CHUN YIP GETS HIS NIGHT KING SEQUEL LEAD HOPE DOUSED

Lo Chun Yip and Renci Yeung earlier shot a "bonus chapter" to thank the audience for their support
courtesy of on.cc

The fresh out of the oven Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actress Fish Liew Chi Yu, Renci Yeung Sze Wing and Siuyea Lo Chun Yip starred movie NIGHT KING (YEH WONG) has been released for more than two months. When a 30-minute extended director's cut earlier was launched, its box office recently soared to HK$ 113 million. The film became the third highest-grossing film in the history of Hong Kong film box office and ousted the original third place, the Louis Koo Tin Lok and Raymond Lam Fung starred TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING).

A few days ago, Lo Chun Yip, Yeung Sze Wing and director Jack Ng Wai Lun appeared at the theater to thank the audience for NIGHT KING. With numerous support online for a sequel, Lo Chun Yip and Yeung Sze Wing joked the "bonus chapter" shot earlier was already a continuation of the film. Lo Chun Yip even tossed out the golden quote from the "bonus chapter", "NIGHT KING 2 lead actor would definitely be me!" Seeing this, Ng Wai Lun immediately "poured cold water" and responded seriously, "There is no such consideration for the time being. With so many subjects in the world, there is no need to repeat it so quickly."

The movie COLD WAR 1994 held a global press conference at the Xiqu Center in the West Kowloon Cultural District yesterday. Director Longman Leung Lok Man led dozens of actors of various ages from the film to attend together and generate momentum. At the event Chow Yun Fat thanked young actors for their efforts, which enabled the passing of the torch in the Hong Kong film industry. He emphasized that although the shoot was hard, the juniors were able to persevere and prove that they had a sense of responsibility. He encouraged everyone to continue to work hard.

The main cast members included Chow Yun Fat, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Tony Leung Ka Fai, Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho), Terrance Lau Chun Him, Wu Kang-ren, Gardner Tse Kwan Ho, Fish Liew Chi Yu, Louise Wong Dan Nei, Aidan Gillen, Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun, Carlos Chan Ka Lok, Lokman Yeung, Stanley Yau Si Chun, Angus Yeung Tin Yue, Mandy Tam Man Huen, Samantha Ko Hoi Ning and Adam Pak Tin Nam attended the press conference.

The actors took pictures in groups first, and the two master class Best Actors Fat Gor and Brother Ka Fai appeared hand in hand in the final very cleverly. Later when a number of handsome men took a group photo of the "male god", Aidan Gillen walked between Fat Gor and Brother Ka Fai, and Fat Gor politely moved to the side and gave up the center position to Aidan Gillen. When taking pictures, the always friendly Fat Gor took the lead in sitting on the steps so everyone would be able to get into the shot. Ng Yin Cho, Lau Chun Him and other juniors were flattered. In the group photo session, Fat Gor once again displayed his people-friendly ways, took selfies and guided the lighting positioning on the spot. The scene was very joyful. When the emcee of the press conference, appeared Carol Cheng Yui Ling (Sister Do) appeared, Fat Gor reunited with his "old partner" again and immediately kissed Sister Do on the cheek. As for Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, although he was unable to catch up to the photo session due to traffic jams, he still arrived before the press conference started.

Leung Ka Fai played Lee Man Bun in the film, the young version of whom was played by Lau Chun Him. The two have been accused of appearance clashes, Ka Fai said, "After watching COLD WAR 1994, I was a little suspicious of my performances in COLD WAR and COLD WAR 2 because Lau Chun Him really performed too wonderfully." Did he feel optimistic that Lau Chun Him would win the Best Actor Award again for this film? He said, "I seem to have made a mistake in praising him. Leave that for the audience, after watching the film everyone would naturally understand how good he is. No one should put too much pressure on young people. Like the actors who play the younger version of my staff, everyone is very young. Like Fat Gor says, legacy is the most importance; not to mention that Lau Chun Him is already the Hong Kong Film Critic Society Awards Best Actor." Fat Gor told Leung Ka Fai that if the younger versions Ng Yin Cho and Lau Chin Him would be nominated for the Hong Kong Film Awards next year, they would be the guest presenters.

Fat Gor was asked what dialogues in the film were particularly profound? He quoted the dialogue in the film and said, "At this moment, back then the first episode was really exciting, and when I was asked to make (the sequel) I was very happy. This time is like someone dug a well and brought me a sip of water to drink." After that he looked at the young actors behind him and continued, "This film has made the entire film industry a legacy, thank you very much for your hard work so that the film can be passed on from generation to generation. Making movies are hard, but seeing them still here after roughing it for so long proves that they must be able to endure well and continue to work hard." Sister Do said, "You have to be here too." Fat Gor continued, "I would be working until the end, on the day when I won't be here and passing in the line of duty. Many people have said that they would rather die on the set, so I often exercise and run. I would still run at the age of 100, which means I can still act until I am 100 years old." He also told Leung Ka Fai not to drink so much wine, otherwise he would not be able to make films until he would be 100 years old. Leung Ka Fai funnily pouted.

Sing Sing talked about his feelings about making the COLD WAR film series again after ten years. He said that the character has never left him and always inside him. He remembered when he first heard that he would work with Leung Ka Fai on COLD WAR, he was very surprised and asked, "For real?" He also joked that he was able to become the youngest policer commissioner in the film. "For today and always." When Sing Sing was asked about the fact that only his younger version did not appear in the new film, director Leung Lok Man revealed that he already had an idea and would let Sing Sing look over the casting in the future. Sing Sing smiled and said, "Actually I can do it myself."

Fat Gor said that during the shoot he once used his antique camera to take photos for Louis Koo Tin Lok and Kwok Fu Sing. "Koo Tin Lok is the epitome of a rich guy, very stylish; Kwok Fu Sing is like a kid, very handsome!" He mentioned that everyone was like family during the filming. Because after this filming they did not know if they would see each other again ten years later, so they cherished every second. He also joked that he might have to wait until his 90s to work together again. After that he asked Sing Sing and Leung Ka Fai to kiss him together in a warm and funny moment. Director Leung Lok Man also revealed that COLD WAR 1995 has been completed and is currently being edited. Hopefully it would be released this year.

What encouragement would Fat Gor have for his juniors? Fat Gor said, "Being an actor is really about destiny, luck and fengshui; like in surfing some people are killed by a wave, and some people ride the wind and waves; so it's really about luck. For example some actors in this film trained for a few months before the shoot, but were shot to death as soon as they appeared. Many times I see the actor's superficial appearance, but I don't know what happened behind it." He also took Sister Do as an example, "Look at Cheng Nine Units (Sister Do), she is still so thin now; maybe it's because she had a very hard time at that time and couldn't get a good bite to eat." Sister Do explained that because it was a fighting period at that time, Fat Gor pointed out that filming was about the right time, place and people. Leung Ka Fai said, "Speaking of Cheng Nine Unit, I was Leung Thirteen back then. The acting industry was very hard, but I wouldn't say it was rough because filming gave me a lot of satisfaction and happiness. Of course only movies would become hits would actors be able to continue to make a living." Sing Sing also agreed with the importance of legacy and also unity, only then would new actors have the opportunity to perform. He also hoped that the audience would support film. Fat Gor asked Sister Do what advice would she give the industry, Sister Do said, "I have already transitioned into being an emcee." Fat Gor said that he hoped the COLD WAR intellectual property would attract Sister Do back to the film industry. Sister Do joked, "Thank you, I hope so too."

Last night the film team stepped on the red carpet led by a band playing horns and drums, attracting a large number of onlookers. First, the film boss, producer and director took the lead, and then the actors appeared one by one. Out of respect for the occasion, the actors specifically changed into formal and evening wear to attend; when Fat Gor and his wife walked on the red carpet in the finale, the cheers of the audience were deafening.

Ng Yin Cho, Lau Chun him, Wong Dan Nei, Ngai Chun Sun and others attended the global press conference of the movie COLD WAR 1994 yesterday.

COLD WAR 1994 held its world premiere in Shenzhen the day before yesterday, and Ng Yin Cho and Lau Chun him also attended. Ng Yin Cho laughed and said that Chow Yun Fat, Leung Ka Fai and Kwok Fu Sing were all very excited, but he did not expect them to be so involved at their age. "Fat Gor, Brother Ka Fai at their age are still very playful. They dance together and imitate Sing Sing's Generation X trademark move and are very energetic." He himself was equally excited, because he left Hong Kong after completing the film and have not seen everyone for nearly a year and a half to two years.

In the film Ng Yin Cho played the youth version of Choi Yuen Kei and said that because the character has a large number of complex Cantonese dialogues, he took two to three months to practice before filming. Lau Chun Him played the youth version of Lee Man Bun, describing him and Ng Yin Cho clicked at first sight, they had common topics and quickly established chemistry. Lau Chun Him even revealed that Ng Yin Cho gave him headphones he personally designed. He said with a smile, "When I see Ng Yin Cho I want to kiss him. The headphones are so beautiful, I am reluctant to use them. I would even kiss the headphones when I go home to express my longing for him!" He said that he planned to take him to dinner in return. Lau Chun Him also said that his wife Cecilia Choi Sze Wan also liked Ng Yin Cho. Would his wife also want to kiss the "male god" Ng Cho Yin herself? He said, "She would just appreciate from a distance. (Will you bring your wife to dinner with Ng Yin Cho?) My wife is working overseas, so I will have him all to myself!" Ng Yin Cho responded funnily that Lau Chun Him himself was a big gift, the date would be limited to two people and exclude his wife, which made Lau Chun Him blush.

Ng Yin Cho revealed that he is currently filming another movie, so he will stay in Hong Kong for a longer time. Earlier his wife Lisa S. and their daughter returned to Hong Kong to keep him company, but returned to the U.S. after just a week because their daughter had school. When asked if his daughter had any complaints, he laughed and said that he was a "tiger dad"; his daughter enjoyed his absence from home. "Because I am more serious and have requirements for her studies, she thinks I am meaner." He also pointed out that his daughter would not hug him now and only cling to Mama, which made him very heartbroken and even shed tears, "The most heartbreaking is that when she was 8 or 9 years old, she said she stop calling me Daddy, only Dad; but I liked her to call me Daddy." He admitted that he did not dare to imagine his daughter dating in the future, he would not be heartbroken; just worried about who she would meet. His only request was that he did not want his daughter to be deceived in love. Although his daughter is not interested in boys for the time being, he has begun to worry. He joked that if she meets a boy like Lau Chun Him, there will be no problem. He even hoped to have such a son.

Lau Chun Him said that the film had many gunfights and fight scenes, which were challenging for him but he did not feel pressured. Instead the more pressure he had, the worse the performance would become. Ng Yin Cho worked with Lau Chun Him for the first time, and joked that before the shoot began he once asked, "Who is this?" Yet he revealed that before collaborating, he has specifically watched Lau Chun Him's TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING) and and BEYOND THE DREAM (WAN OI) and praised him, "This person is very powerful. He is not acting, but completely immersing himself to the role. To be able to do this at such a young age, he is very rare and a very distinctive actor."

Wong Dan Nei played the mob boss in the film, Jeffrey and Michael Ning (Bak Ji) were her right-hand men. They had many action scenes in the film, and they received martial arts and firearms training before filming. Wong Dan Nei revealed that she practiced the "flying dagger" stunt at home. She laughed and said that she saw Jeffrey play the thug with great ruthlessness and was even frightened by it. Jeffrey joked, "I've been practicing this ruthless look for a long time, actually I was born like this." He admitted that bruises and scrapes were inevitable from working action scenes. Wong Dan Nei even revealed that almost all of the eight prop baseball bats he used in the film were broken. During the rehearsal he overheard his co-stars begging for mercy, "Brother, take it easy, it's just a rehearsal!" Bak Ji's stunt double performed most of his action scenes, and he joked that he made a surprising discovery. "The double has a 90% resemblance to my likeness and shape, he is also very agile. I gave him my phone number, as I plan to be his dramatic double from now on."

The fresh out of the oven Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actress Liew Chi Yu and Ko Hoi Ning dressed up for the red carpet of the premiere last night. Fish receives shouts of "so beautiful" from many fans at the scene, and she waved her hand coquettishly. Fish pointed out that the cast of this movie is strong. Facing a group of seniors, she was also very nervous during the filming. She revealed that she mainly played opposite the two Best Actors Gardner Tse Kwan Ho and Wu Kang-ren, which gave her acting bug its fill. "Every day is like going to class, learning from them and absorbing their acting skills." She was interviewed at the event the night before and was asked how she felt after winning Best Actress, she admitted that she instead had a feeling of being "seen" in the industry but emphasized that she would not stop because of winning the award. She hoped that everyone would give her room for improvement.

Playing a media worker in the film, Ko Hoi Ning said that she mainly played opposite Ng Yin Cho. Having had fewer opportunities to appear in movies, she bluntly said that this was a great experience.

Erickson Ip finds working with Leslie Cheung unforgettable

Ti Lung, Gordon Lam Ka Tung, directors Jacob Cheung Chi Leung and Joe Cheung Tung Cho and others went to the Hong Kong Cultural Center the night before to attend the "Restored Treasures -- THE KID" event. Erickson Ip Ching Lan, who played Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing's son in the movie, also appeared.

As soon as Ti Lung and Lam Ka Tung met, they chatted endlessly. He told Ka Tung to take good care of his health. In a semi-retired state in recent years, Ti Lung was asked if he would focus on taking care of his grandchildren. He laughed and said that he is now "micro retired". "If the time is right and the script is good, I will still want to make films again. Because if I retire for too long I will be rusty, and being rusty is like being irresponsible for the work. That's not good, so I have to keep it hot!"

Regarding the restoration of THE KID (LAU SING YU), Ti Lung sincerely thanked the group of advocates behind the scenes. "This movie has no explosion scenes or gunfights, it is mainly about family, and also a piece to remember Gor Gor (Cheung Kwok Wing) by." In addition to THE KID, Ti Lung and Gor Gor have also collaborated on many classic movies. When asked which one he has hoped would be restored again, he said that he would leave it to fate, Lam Ka Tung joked, "I haven't been the boss for a long time (A BETTER TOMORROW (YING HUNG BOON SIK))." Ti Lung smiled and nodded when he heard this.

Lam Ka Tung talked about his memories from the production. He pointed out that he was still working at the TV station in 1993. Brother Lung (Ti Lung) was filming JUSTICE BAO in the studio next door, and he was with Alex Man Chi Leung (Man Ji) at that time. He heard Brother Lung and Man Ji chatting, so he listened next to them like a child nd at the time same learned a lot. Brother Lung called him "Tung Dee" because of this. He said that the two did not share many scenes in THE KID and hoped to have the opportunity to work together in the future. Ti Lung praised Lam Ka Tung for breaking new ground in filmmaking after leaving TVB, both as a producer and challenging different roles; which opened up many directions for himself. In particular his performance in HAND ROLLED CIGARETTE (SAU GUEN YIN) had both depth and variations. Ti Lung also praised Lam Ka Tung for caring about his seniors and asked him if he has visited the "Se Gor" Patrick Tse Yin recently? Lam Ka Tung revealed that Sei Gor is in good health, has even quit cigars and is very healthy.

In addition, Lam Ka Tung mentioned that he collaborated with "Gor Gor" Cheung Kwok Wing and played his colleagues in the film. They had many scenes together. The heart to heart chat on the beach was even considered the romance of men. The two also became friends in private, and Gor Gor even acted as a driver and took him home. "At the time I lived at Clearwater Bay. Because my license was suspended I didn't drive, Gor Gor often gave me a ride home. Once he even drove me to an elder's home to play mahjong, but his sports car only had two seats. I had to sit in the dog seat spot. The opportunity to have so many interactions with the superstar off screen was very rare, and was a great memory."

Playing Gor Gor's son in THE KID, Ip Ching Lan is already an adult. He called Gor Gor "Ah Wing" in the film and left a deep impression. He pointed out that his movie was made 27 years ago. He remembered the most on scene in which he and Gor Gor lay on the bed and touched each other's ears, and Gor Gor feeding him canned fish to get him to sleep. "I still feel a lot of emotions from watching this movie again. This opportunity was very wonderful, like I was dreaming." Later in ASHES TO ASHES (YIN FEI YIN MIT) he played Gor Gor and Anita Mui Yim Fong's son, then he never participated in film again. Why did he no longer act? He joked, "At the time I was so little it wasn't my decision. Papa and Mama handled it. As an adult I don't particularly resist acting, but I haven't had the opportunity. Currently I work in the healthcare industry."

[2026.04.27] JOSEPHINE SIAO MAKES A RARE APPEARANCE AT THE PREMIERE OF THE SPOOKY BUNCH 4K RESTORED VERSION

Josephine Siao appears at the premiere, jokingly thanks the audience for not applauding for her
courtesy of on.cc

Away from public appearance for a long time, Josephine Siao appears at the premiere of the film she starred in and produced, THE SPOOKY BUNCH's 4K RESTORED VERSION world premiere. She thanks Director Yonfan for advocating for the film to be restored.

THE SPOOKY BUNCH is Ann Hui's second film as a director. Back then Stanley Kwan was her assistant director. They share the production experience, including Stanley Kwan's claim that Ann Hui scolded him and made him cry.

NIGHT KING director Jack Ng attends THE SPOOKY BUNCH premiere. He says that recently he is working hard to thank the audience of the third highest grossing Chinese film in Hong Kong history, NIGHT KING, and hopes to catch up to his other film A GUILTY CONSCIENCE's performance
courtesy of mingpao.com

Stanley Kwan Kam Peng, Ann Hui On Wah, Rebecca Lee Lok Sze and others attended the world premiere of the 1980 movie THE SPOOKY BUNCH (JONG DOH JENG) (4K Digitally Restored Version) the night before as the Hong Kong Pop Culture Fest 2026's Fantasies in Reality: A Cinematic Journey opening film. The film restoration advocate Director Yonfan and the film's lead actress and producer, the 79 year old Josephine Siao Fong Fong (Sister Fong Fong) appeared together, much to the surprise of the entire audience.

Before the movie started, the emcee Tina Liu Tin Lan before inviting Sister Fong Fong to appear asked the audience turned on their mobile phone lights instead of applause to keep from making Sister Fong Fong feel unwell due to her nearly total hearing loss. "Don't clap, the sound wave would make dizzy Sister Fong Fong dizzy for two week. Please welcome her with lights and love." The entire venue switched on the flashlight on their phones.

As soon as Sister Fong Fong took the stage, she blew a big kiss to the audience. She was both excited and excited as she joked, "Thank you very much for not applauding." She got choked up and said, "I feel so happy! Because this movie was shot 46 years ago but still have the opportunity to have a premiere here today (yesterday), I have to thank director Yonfan. Only because of the director would it have this opportunity. I also thank the Hong Kong Film Archive for restoring the film, I think after the restoration it would be very entertaining." She also thanked the film's director Hui On Wah, assistant director Kwan Kam Peng, and others on the same stage one by one. She joked, "It's like the movie has won an award!" Before taking a group photo, Siao Fong Fong added, "One last thing, I wish everyone good health, good health and happiness every day.

Hui On Wah said that although THE SPOOKY BUNCH's subject was horror, the process was without any strand of it; the film's assistant director Kwan Kam Peng said that he grew up watching Siao Fong Fong's movies and described that on the set he turned into a little fan. Playing a female ghost in the film, Lau Tin Lan joked that back then she was just are "little girl". She was very honored to participate in the 8 month long shoot and because of THE SPOOKY BUNCH her love for film was inspired. Lee Lok Sze could not forget about reading the script at night and scared her with the visuals she imagined from it.

Hui On Wah smiled and recalled that when she was filming BOAT PEOPLE (TAU BUN NO HOI), she scolded her assistant director at the time Kwan Kam Pang until he cried. She explained that because the scene with the hydrogen balloon could not be completed after a week, so she was very "frustrated". However she was a person who would forget after scolding people, whether she or others was at fault. Kwan Kam Peng pointed out that although Hui On Wah was not a gentle person, she actually rarely scolded people; nor was she a ill tempered person as she would treat actors kindly. If actors have yet to enter the role, Hui On Wah would pull them aside for discussions. He also named Siao Fong Fong, Deanie Ip Tak Han and Anita Mui Yim Fong as good actors.

As for the current film market, the two famous directors believed that it is related to resources. The film industry is indeed not as rich in resources as it was in the 80s of the last century. Kwan Kam Peng said, "Because of the limited budget, sometimes you have to 'work with what you got', just like (Sammi) Cheng Sau Man took the role in LOST LOVE (LAU SHUI LOK FA) she took zero salary in support." He also sent a message to the younger generation of directors not only to indulge in their own style, but also to move the audience.

In addition, director Jack Ng Wai Lun was also present to show his support. Regarding the film he directed, Dayo Wong Tze Wah and Sammi Cheng Sau Man starred NIGHT KING (YEH WONG) has exceeded HK$ 113 million at the box office in Hong Kong and Macau to become the third highest-grossing Hong Kong film. Was he confident that it would reach second place? He humbly said that there would be still some distance to go, so he had to work hard to catch up. The next day he would continue to thank the audience the next day. Speaking of him and Tze Wah having become a dream team, he joked that as long as it does not turn into actually dreaming he was fine. He would not rule out the possibility of continuing to work with Tze Wah. In addition, in terms of writing scripts Tze Wah was even his elder. Wong Tze Wah not only performed but also gave suggestions, he estimated that with the right subject he would be interested in conceiving the script together. He said that if NIGHT KING's performance would take another step forward, he would look forward to another celebration from the boss. He hoped that Cheng Sau Man would be able to make time to attend.

Immediately congratulating her friend and colleague, Jennifer Yu Heung Ying attended the event yesterday and stated that she was moved to tears when she witnessed the moment in front of the TV. I knew that Godmother Fish this year would definitely win, so I promised my daughter to watch Godmother win on television with her." How would she celebrate with her sister? She said that Fish will definitely be busier after winning the award, and will invite her to dinner later. However she hoped the most for them to go on a trip to celebrate.

The Radio and Television Hong Kong organized "47th Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs" award concert was held at the East Kowloon Cultural Centre Theatre on the 24th. This year the event with the theme "Entire City In Love" arranged for singers to interpret their award winning work in an all new "musical theater" format for the audience to diverse song style and creativity of Hong Kong Chinese popular music. Radio Hong Kong also announced that the "Top Ten Chinese Gold Song" would "break out of Hong Kong". In addition to bringing the award concert to the mainland for broadcasting, it would also hold the "Top 10 Chinese Gold Song -- Shanghai Gold Song Festival" in Shanghai to promote cross- regional cultural exchanges through music. In terms of female singers, Gin Lee Hung Ngai won four awards in one fell swoop and became the big winner. As for male singers, Jay Fung Wan Him and Terence Lam Ka Him also won four awards with the music composition award; one of which covered both performer and composition awards.

In addition to the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Algernon Yau Ying Wah, the guests attending the event included the Director of Broadcasting, Angelina Kwan Yuen Yee, the Chairman of the Composers an Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH), Chan Wing Wah, the Chairman of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) Association (Hong Kong), Colin Cheung Kwok Lam, President of the Hong Kong Record Merchants Association, Mimi Chung Wai Wai, Director of the Hong Kong Office of Shanghai Media Group, Yu Hua, the Music Broadcasting Host of Beijing Radio and Television Station, Wang Jingyu, and the Manager of the Television Program Division of Teledifusao De Macau S.A., Leung Chi Yong.

Before the award presentation concert, some of the award-winning singers and units appeared for an event group photo, then the event held a souvenir presentation ceremony to present souvenirs to guests and representatives of supporting organizations.

The evening kicked off with an excerpt from the Hong Kong Dance Company's performance of "KUNG FU ARTISTRY", which used body language to interpret Bruce Lee's "No Way as Way", echoing the unique charm and vitality of the Hong Kong pop music scene. Afterwards, the officiating guest, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Yau Ying Wah, accompanied by nine winners of the "Excellent Pop Singer Award", presided over the launching ceremony of the musical theater, injecting momentum into the Gold Song concert and sending love to the whole city through musical notes.

Different from the previous format, Radio Hong Kong began to present some awards one after another last month. The "CASH Best Creative Singer Award", "Best Chinese Record Award", "Global Chinese Supreme Gold Song Award" and "Best Male/Female Pop Singer Award" were announced yesterday. Winning the Top Ten Chinese Gold Song Award for LOVE SURVIVAL GUIDE, James Ng Yip Kwan admitted that he would leave the record company during his performance on stage and said that he was attending the awards ceremony as a TMG (TVB Music Group) singer for the last time. After winning the award, Ng Yip Kwan said in an interview that he still had a contract with Shaw Brothers and TVB, but his contract with TMG has expired. He has decided not to renew the contract, and planned to release new songs in the form of self- financing. Currently he first had to learn how to be an independent singer. "I have to handle the song copyrights and the matter of starting a company. This year I want to be a little rebellious, and try what completely owning the song right feels like. I am a big boy now, if I am not willful once it would be too late. My wife knows about my ideas. Originally we wanted to move to a bigger place, but right now we are saving up 'ammo'. We shouldn't be so frivolous. (How much ammo do you have?) I saved up 6 figure." They have decided to continue to live in their Tuen Mun love nest for awhile and would rather save up the money they would have spent dining out for music videos. When asked if any other company has beckoned to him, he admitted that he has not yet had contact with other record companies. He also complained about "not knowing how expensive rice is". "I have discussed with a producer that actually making a song is 20 to 30% more than expected. Right now I just found out that making music video requires paying royalty." He revealed that he has received some demos so far, but he would choose very carefully to ensure accuracy before releasing the first song. Janice Vidal (Wai Lan) has just celebrated her 44th birthday. She said that winning an award was one of the best birthday gifts, but what makes her even happier was being able to meet singers she has not seen in a long time. Recently touring in the mainland, Janice has planned to hold the final leg of the tour at the Hong Kong Coliseum at the end of the year and planned to invite her former boss Leon Lai Ming as a guest. She also stated that she wanted to date, but her friends all thought that she already had an significant other so she lacked suitors.

In order to further promote Cantonese music outside Hong Kong, Radio Hong Kong will not only invite Shanghai Media Group China Dragon TV as the exclusive television media partner in the Mainland to broadcast this year's awards concert, but also hold the "Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs - Shanghai Gold Song Festival" in Shanghai, including the RTHK Vinyl Pop Up and the Cantopop Party, etc., to enhance the status of local pop music in the Chinese-speaking music scene, use music to tell Hong Kong stories and promote cultural exchanges.

This year's awards concert was ingeniously designed, and RTHK invited musical director Tom Chan Yan Shek as the creative consultant to connect the "Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs" and the songs of guest performers Mike Tsang Pei Tat and Phil Lam Yik Hong in the form of "Musical Theater" to weave together six story chapters: "First Sight", "Confused", "Then", "Flame Break", "Imprint" and "Unknown". The highest honor, the "Golden Needle Award", was awarded to the musician Lowell Lo Koon Ting. He performed a number of classics, demonstrating the outstanding strength of a pioneer singer and film score master.

The CASH Best Creative Singer Gold Prize went to Lam Ka Him. He happily said, "This is the first time I won this award. Thank you to singers who like my creations and my family." He also won Excellent Pop singer and Gold Song with APRIL WHISPERS. Because he composed APRIL WHISPHERS he had 4 awards total. He said that last year he created an album he was very pleased with, fortunately it was sold out. "The album had a hidden track WHENEVER CHANGE HAPPENS. I want to thank Mr. Lo Kwok Jim. It was his work from around 50 years ago. Listening to it again 50 years later I still feel it is very touching and very great. Thank you to the singers, fans and family who like the album." Lam Ka Him was in a rush to return home and feed the dog, so he was sorry that he was unable to speak with the media. Silver prize recipient Fung Wan Him said, "This year is my 15th anniversary in the business. I am very happy to be able to work on a job I like: singing, composing and creating. I am the luckiest to have your (fans) support." Sweeping up 4 awards including the CASH Best Creative Singer and Excellent Pop Singer, he joked about not being able to win the Most Excellent Pop Singer Award, "Don't be too greedy in life, work hard and try again next year!" When asked how he would celebrate, Fung Wan Him answer, "I used to go home and have a burger, but I just got back from Canada and ate a lot. While working on a commercial I kept eating, so I really am a little fatter. The company told me to lose weight. (Do you have any plan to your 15th anniversary in the business?) I would probably celebrate with fans.

The event this year broke the tradition and brought out award winning singer in a musical format. The Most Improved Silver prize recipient Ashley Lin (Lam Hoi Ling) appeared in eye catching blue. The Most Promising Rookie silver prize recipient Amy Lo Wai Man appeared in a cowboy look. Yanting Chau dressed up like a race car driver and rapped the "Excellent Chinese Pop Song" GAME ON with endless cheer from the audience. "Best Band/Group" bronze prize girl group COLLAR only sent Sumling Li, Winka Chan and Gao Sham Ching Hau to represent them but received great treatment from the organizer RTHK as each got to appear on the stage for a solo performance. They said that other group mates had work and were unable to join them. Winka Chan earlier performed with boyfriend Chu Wan Pin for the first time, fortunately they did not argue. Her boyfriend was the organizer, so she joked that she had class concept and gave him a little respect.

MC Cheung Tin Fu was unable to attend but sent a video to share his feeling. "Thank you to every fan and listener who voted for me, every one of your vote has given me this award. Thank you to the behind the scene team for their effort, because this award is equivalent to everyone's recognition and is the greatest achievement. I am sorry I can't accept this award in person and witness this joyous event. In the coming days, I hope to be like this album title SWEET AND SOUR. Maintaining the tradition while being able to immerse in innovative style, I look forward to everyone's continuing support for me."

Lee Hung Ngai after winning the Most Excellent Female Pop Singer she was very happy, especially winning her first Best Chinese Record Female Singer. She has wanted this award for a long time already, hoped to be continue to work hard, be able to win the Best Record Award and continue to be "Goldy".

75 year old Lo Koon Ting received the Golden Needle award from Selina Chow Liang Shuk Yee. "Thank you very much to Radio Hong Kong for giving me this honor of the 'Golden Needle Award'. I feel I am very lucky to be able to choose music as my lifelong professional, and to have a good wife to accompany me on every step on the life journey. Without Tong Shu Sum I wouldn't be receiving this award. Thank you fans, I will continue to work hard because chasing dreams has no age limit. Miracles would definitely continue to appear." He at the "music theater" 5th chapter performed with a guitar MAY PEOPLE ENDURE, WALK WITH YOU and SKY BIRD.

Yanting Chau recently promoted his new song DESTINED LOVER, has been suspected of promoting with an intimate photo with music video co-star Jace Chan Hoi Wing, led to suspicions of publicize a romance, and disappointed many fans who dubbed him "Market Ting". Last night he said through Public Relations that he had several allergy and did not speak to the media.

CONSTANCE (Chan Hong Tai) received the Most Promising Rookie gold prize. Earlier she was rumored to be in love with tennis player Coleman Wong Chak Lam. When asked how she would celebrate with her boyfriend, she indirectly admitted the relationship. "Boyfriend isn't in Hong Kong, but later would probably watch the replay. (Is he competing overseas?) Yes." They each were working hard on their own? She nodded and smiled sweetly, "yes!"

Singer Cloud Wan Ho Ying won the "Excellent Pop Singer Award" at the "47th Top Ten Chinese Gold Song Awards Concert" and performed ACROPHOBIA. In order to promote her new album "Silver Lining", she recently held the "Cloud's Silver Lining Trip Concert" at Central. More than 300 fans sat on the "Little Cloud Carpet" on the ground to support her.

She asked fans at the event: "Are you nervous? I'm so nervous, I'm a 'P person'. As a tour guide, I'm nervous for everyone!" When she covered Fiona Sit Hoi Kei's BETTER ME, Cloud sentimentally said, "No matter what you do right or wrong, there is a reason. I hope everyone wakes up every morning like me with a new version of themselves." She said in an interview, "I'm worried about whether this idea works or not? Listening to it with headphones will be very detailed and magnify the flaws." Yet after appearing on the stage, she felt relieved after feeling the energy and reaction of the audience.
