Raymond Wong Pak Ming on the 30th brought his son Wong Chi Wun to Xian to promote the film ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL TOO 2010 (FA TIN HEI SI 2010). As the screen writer, Wong Chi Wun revealed that his father and Sandra Ng Kwan Yu worked together five times without kissing. He arranged for it for the audience and believed that everyone was looking forward to it.
Wong Chi Wun was the screen writer of IP MAN, DRAGON TIGER GATE, FLASH POINT (DOH FOR SIN), SEVEN SWORDS (CHUT GIM) and other films. With DRAGON TIGER GATE he was nominated for the Golden Horse Best Screenplay Adaptation. He was no less talented than his father Wong Pak Ming. Wong Pak Ming explained that he never forced his son to work in film. "I once sent him overseas to study economics, I never expect for him to come back and still work in film. This is his interest." Wong Chi Wun said that his film profession indeed was due to his father's influence, but he did not feel any pressure. He only hoped to be able to exceed his father a little in the future. He expressed that he was already over 31, so he would not consider on camera development. Yet he would not eliminate the possibility of playing a bit role in movies.
In ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL TOO 2010, Wong Pak Ming and son worked together for the first time as actor and screen writer. Wong Chi Wun was pleased that his position was a little higher than his father's. "Whatever I write he has to play. He is the type of actors who would follow the screenplay." The fantasy story felt rather fresh for Wong Chi Wun, who was used to serious stories.
The Lunar New Year also will have other comedies like the star studded HOT SUMMER DAYS (CHUEN SING YIT LUEN YIT LAT LAT) and the Eric Tsang Chi Wai production 72 TENANTS OF PROSPERITY (72 GA JO HAT) to compete with ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL TOO 2010 at the box office. Yet Wong Pak Ming with his years of Lunar New Year film experience was quite confident. "I am confident that I can beat Tsang Chi Wai." He would like the chance to work with Mainland Lunar New Year film director Feng Xiaogang.
