Radio and Television Hong Kong yesterday held a New Spring group visit. Not only did it invite Commerce and Economic Development Bureau secretary Rita Lau Ng Wai Lan and Broadcast Authority chief Wong Wa Lun to host the lion eye dotting ceremony, it also invited many media executives like TVB's Stephen Chan Chi Wun, Cable's Wu Yung Hing and ATV's Wu King Ying. They were on the stage for a toast.
Just winning an award at the Berlin Film Festival with their film ECHOES OF THE RAINBOW (SHUI YUET SUN TAU), Alex Law Kai Yui and Mabel Cheung Yuen Ting said on the stage, "I hope the government will soon build the new, but not to demolish so much of the old." Cheung Yuen Ting also thanked everyone for their support and wished everyone the best is yet to come and lively like Tigers. As for Wing Lee Street's consultation period ending yesterday, both directors hoped that the government would be able to preserve the entire area, to strength the structure of old buildings but maintain their original features; they also said that they have been together for years so they would not wed to celebrate this award.
