[2010.08.02] AARON KWOK PERSONALLY PERFORMS FLAWLESS EXPLOSION SCENE

Benny Chan Muk Sing earlier lead the CITY UNDER SIEGE (CHUEN SING GAI BEI) cast members Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Shu Qu, Collin Chou Siu Lung, Wu Jing, Zhang Jingchu to attend the Beijing premiere press conference. Chan Muk Sing pointed out that this film broke all Hong Kong traditional action film format as a merger of Chinese martial art fighting and Hollywood mutant subjects. He pointed out that Hollywood special effect films completely relied on special effects, but all the fight scenes in his new film were truly actor performed. For example Wu Jing's staff and Chinese kung fu fights against mutants, they were elements that would not appear in Hollywood films.

Chou Siu Lung, Wu Jing and Kwok Fu Sing all performed the fight scenes personally. They did not use doubles even during explosion scenes. Chou Siu Lung after inhaling poisonous gas became a criminal and Wu Jing played a mutant catching expert. In the film they had many fight scenes. Chou Siu Lung pointed out that Wu Jing was a great opponent in action scenes. Wu Jing also expressed that fighting with Chou Siu Lung was very smooth as several shots only took one take straight. He was very happy. He also pointed out that Chou Siu Lung looked thin but his arm strength was very strong. Once he knocked him to the ground with one shot.

Shu Qi and Zhang Jingchu also had action scenes. In one scene Chou Siu Lung tossed Shu Qi to the air, Zhang Jingchu turned into an action actress and battled mutants. Chan Muk Sing in order to achieve the kung fu fighting realism arranged for Kwok Fu Sing to train before the

production began. Kwok Fu Sing faced Chou Siu Lung's martial art and Hollywood backgrounds with some stress but thought it was a great opportunity to learn.
