The Peter Chan Ho Sun produced, Andrew Lau Wai Keung directed action film THE GUILLOTINES (HUET DIK JI) will be released on December 27. THE GUILLOTINES is the ancient version of YOUNG AND DANGEROUS (GOO WAT JAI) that Lau Wai Keung successfully created. A "Qing style YOUNG AND DANGEROUS" character poster was even created in the Mainland.
"The Guillotine Heavenly Team" even issued a slogan, "Hot blooded youth, scars as proof". During the shoot each one of the young actors was injured, but they did not mind at all. They even felt that the scars were the proof of youth. Ethan Juan (Yuen King Tin) had the cutest scar as he scratched up his rear from horse riding; Shawn Yue Man Lok fell off the horse several times and suffered bruises; Chris Lee Yuchun suffered burns from sparks during a night scene; Jing Boran's injuries were more minor, as he only scratched and bloodied his palm on the door; Purba Rgyal (Po Ba Gap) suffered a severe injury on his leg and was "crippled" for two weeks.
Yet the greatest mental "youth proof" was left with Huang Xiaoming. His leg was already injured to start with before 1,500 catties of explosives were triggered behind him without his knowledge. During the shoot he could not react too much, afterward he finally said, "I was completely blasted silly!" Yuen King Tin due to the story had to slap Jing Boran viciously. Before this scene the gentle Siu Tin struggled for two days. "I have never slapped anyone before. It was particularly hard to take, not to mention when Jing Bo is the one!" Finally he had to slap seven times before a take was accepted, leaving marks and traces of blood on Jing Boran's smooth face. As soon as Siu Tin saw them his eyes got teary, but Jing Boran instead comforted him. "I deserved to get hit, but you are more heart broken than I am. What's going on?" Later, Siu Tin treated Jing Boran to hot pot casserole and gave all the snacks in his room to him to make himself feel better.
