Carina Lau Ka Ling yesterday attended an all new Valentino flagship store opening in Shanghai. Ka Ling and husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai founded the TLC foundation. She joked that it stood for Tony Loves Carina. The foundation mainly helps seniors and children in need. Valentino will donate some of its proceeds from its new line to the cause. "Mr. Leung would donate gifts from friends to charity, privately he would make visits. If needed we might organize a large scale fund raising event like Smile Angels Foundation did." She was considering the next step to be a senior home or a young children education center, but she never considered being on the school board.

Earlier Chow Yun Fat was rumored to be willing to donate 99% of his wealth to the society after his death. Ka Ling admitted that she has begun to consider it as well. "I am not willing to donate my entire life saving. Because after death I will not be able to take it with me, after making proper arrangements to take care of my family I can donate what is left. Ultimately what I got came from the society. Will I donate 800 million or 1 billion? I Lau Ka Ling is priceless, how will it just be 800 million or 1 billion? Wai Jai is very generous, I can discuss this with him."

Ka Ling picked Zhang Ziyi to win this year's Golden Horse Best Actress award. This time they ran into each other and she wished her well. "Actually Sammi (Cheng Sau man) and Shu Qi are my good friends too. Whoever wins I am just as happy." As for Best Actor, Ka Ling said, "In my heart definitely is Leung Chiu Wai, because good is good." Speaking of the online call for "turning off television for TVB anniversary", Ka Ling said that TVB was her and her mother's cradle. If TVB asked she would gladly help, but not to make a series; she admitted that TVB programs were somewhat dull and old. Improvement was needed.
