[2014.04.19] DANTE LAM IS STUNNED TO SEE THOUSANDS OF NICK CHEUNG

The Dante Lam Chiu Yin directed film THAT DEMON WITHIN (MOR GAING) was selected to the Taipei 2014 Golden Horse Fantastic Film Festival closing film. He and producer Candy Leung Fung Ying went to Taipei to meet the audience. Although Nick Cheung Ka Fai did not take time to head to Taiwan, almost 1,000 viewers received masks from the event and transformed into "Cheung Ka Fai". When Lam Chiu Yin stepped into the cinema he was surprised to see an audience full of "Cheung Ka Fai".

Lam Chiu Yin kept praising Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho) and Cheung Ka Fai for their exciting performance. Cheung Ka Fai was excellent, with a high level of comprehension. As for Chi Tan's THE ICEMAN, its box office was not displayed on the Hong Kong Motion Picture Industry Association and the Hong Kong Theatres Association's Box Office site. Reportedly THE ICEMAN's film company asked the cinemas not to report the numbers, as if the film has not been released.

THE ICEMAN's executive producer Christopher Sun Lap Kei yesterday explained that it was to accommodate the Mainland release date. He said, "Because the film will open in the Mainland on April 25th, advanced special screenings were held in Hong Kong. Due to the usual rule of simultaneous release for co-production films, we couldn't report any number. As for the screening numbers, we did not want to schedule so many shows. We are afraid that comrades would watch it in Hong Kong and not in the Mainland. THE ICEMAN's target would be the Mainland May Day holiday, so the Hong Kong box office would wait for next week's Mainland release to be announced together." He said that he was very confident in the film box office.
