The Apple Action News and Entertainment Page organized
the 12th Golden Plum Film Poll as a grindstone for the film industry
observes sloppy and excessive productions in hopes of awakening
creators' conscience to never make rotten films again. After a month of
reader voting, the Wong Jing directed FROM VEGAS TO MACAU 3 took off
with the Most Rotten Film/Director and the Most Rotten Scene awards to
reach the summit of rotten films. The Most Rotten Actor/Actress went to
FOOLING AROUND JIANG HU's Alan Tam Wing Lun and LEAGUE OF GODS'
Angelababy.
WASTE OF GOOD ACTORS
This year 6,404 people voted, multiple times more than the
number of people who voted at the Chief Executive Election. It is also
relatively more recognized as well. On a certain level it reflects that
the audience has a lot of opinions about last year's film releases.
The Chow Yun Fat, Andy Lau Tak Wa and Nick Cheung Ka Fai starred
FROM 3 had box office success but even more negative reviews. It led
from the beginning to the end at the Most Rotten Film/Director Award
with 2,936 votes and 46% of the votes. This film was rotten in that it
had a cast of good actors but wasted them with knock off special effect.
The robot war scene took ten minutes and truly deserved the Most Rotten
Scene, with 3,495 votes and 55% of the votes.
FOOLING's Alan defeated MISSION MILANO's Wong Cho Nam for the
Most Rotten Actor. Alan with his 80's exaggerated performance stuck out
his chest and sucked in his gut throughout the entire film got 2,501
votes and 39% of the votes, his second award since the 2007 WE ARE FAMILY.
As for baby, she with 3,282 votes left Christine Ng Wing Mei in the dust
and took home her first Golden Plum Most Rotten Actress Award.
