The new director Chan Kin Long directed film HAND ROLLED CIGARETTE (SAU GUEN YIN)'s production was affected due to the pandemic. Earlier it held additional shoots in Kwai Chung and a belated production start worship ceremony to pray for a smooth production. The cast also cheered for the film industry and wished that the film industry would revive soon. The team took all the precaution and had ample masks, hand sanitizer and other pandemic fighting material on the set.
Star Gordon Lam Ka Tung pointed out that most of the locations had a lot of space that would provide ample resting space for actors during non production periods and prevent gathering. Ka Tung this time worked with Chin Siu Ho after many years. The most memorable for him was shooting in a ferry engine room, which felt both masculine and repressed -- a strong middle aged man feeling. Tai Bo again worked with Ben Yuen Fu Wa, but because of earlier "coupling" in SUK SUK they became rivals. Yuen Fu Wa joked that the most memorable was originally thinking that they could kiss again, but this time was an alternative kiss. The image was completely different as both he and Tai Bo were very masculine.
