The 19th Asian Film Awards will be held on March 15th at the Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District. Yesterday the Academy announced three Special Award winners, including Zhang Ziyi who will receive the "Excellence in Asian Cinema Awards"; Liu Haoran, the "AFA New Generation Award" recipient, and the Terrance Lau Chun Him, who will be honored with the "AFA Rising Star Award". At the night of the award show they would share their joy with film fans and industry insiders alike.
In recent years Hong Kong actor Lau Chun Him has caught attention of many movies, like the Hong Kong films TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING), PEG O' MY HEART (SHOOK MUNG), STUNTMAN (MO DOH TO), the mainland movie THE LYCHEE ROAD and the Taiwan film TROUBLE GIRL. Speaking of winning the "AFA Rising Star Award", he thanked the Asian Film Awards for his recognition. "I am very grateful to my manager, father, mother, sister, and my wife Choi Sze Wan, all of whom have been by my side. Thank you for supporting me with love when I was weak and confused. I hope that on the creative journey, I will follow my inner voice and move forward step by step, thank you."
