Veteran artist Lam Chung, who has been in many classic films like A BETTER TOMORROW II and BULLET IN THE HEAD, two nights ago passed away from heart disease. Tin Kai Man confirmed the news. "It was very sudden and very sad. I have worked with him, I really admire his acting. He also very taught the younger generation with skill and patience, and was very easy going."
Tong Chun Yip and Lam Chung were friends. He said that he has always known that lam had heart disease. In addition earlier when Lam went to work in Xishangbanna he caught a cold and his health deteriorated. Lam Chung's funeral has been scheduled to take place in Zhanjiang on February 4th. Tong Chun Yip will head there to send him on his final journey. Simon Yam Tat Wa, who has worked with Lam Chung, also sent his condolences and praised hi as a great actor.
Lam Chung was born in Macau in 1945 and grew up in Hong Kong. He worked with Chow Yun Fat, Tony Leung Chiu Wai and others in almost 100 movies. He also participated in many series and directed. He excelled in playing villains and tough guys. In December last year he was still working on a series and played a grandfather.
