The Philip Yung Tsz Kwong produced, Ho Cheuk Tin directed film THE SPARRING PARTNER (JING YI WUI LONG) opened to only HK$ 200,000 at the box office. Later with word of mouth it received viewer support. In release for less than two weeks, it accumulated HK$ 9,214,937 (as of November 7th). Yung Tsz Kwong two days ago on social media platform revealed that the film was able to be made not only because he invested the down payment for a home but he also had to thank Mr. K for his support. He said, "Mr. K has always mistakenly loved me, this time I was honest instead of gracious. As soon as I asked I borrowed HK$ 1 million. Over the phone he only said two things. 'The money will be there tomorrow', 'No need to thank me or mention me, work hard on making a good movie for Hong Kong.'" Many online wanted to know who Mr. K was, some speculated that he was the boss of One Cool Film Co. that fully supports Hong Kong film, Louis Koo Tin Lok (Mr. Koo); the other suspect has worked with Yung Tsz Kwong on two movies PORT OF CALL (DAP HUET CHUM MUI) and WHERE THE WIND BLOWS (FUNG JOI HEI SI), Aaron Kwok Fu Sing. He was full of passion for film and often lent a hand to new directors.
Yung Tsz Kwong yesterday in a media interview provided hints to the identity of Mr. K, saying that he spoke simply and cleanly, has invested in film and he has never worked with him. The answer now seemed obvious.
