The Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo), Wai Ying Hung, Jimmy Wang Yu, and Tang Wei starred new film WU XIA two nights ago held a premiere and attracted many viewers and guests like Chingmy Yau Suk Ching, Fala Chen, Ray Lui Leung Wai, Lynn Xiong (Hung Doi Lam) and others. Earlier suffering a stroke Wang Yu two nights ago was alert and even put cream from Yen Chi Tan's birthday cake on Chi Tan's and Tang Wei's faces like a child. Wang Yu said, "Eight months after fighting with Chi Tan I suffered a stroke. I hope to rest for three months and we would work on another film together to fight again."

Yen Chi Tan's birthday was yesterday, the event presented a cake to celebrate in advance. Chi Tan said, "My wife and children have already arrived in LA. After the interview I will fly over to meet with them, once I arrived I will celebrate with them. Because of the time different, when I arrive it will still be my birthday." Chi Tan said that when he was little the first film that his father took him to see was Wang Yu's ONE ARMED SWORDSMAN (DUK BEI DOH). Wai Ying Hung studied martial art with Chi Tan's mother when she was young and could be considered Chi Tan's elder. Chi Tan said, "This time was my first collaboration with Siu Hung. In the film we fought until we PK." Tang Wei expressed that this time the director gave her a chance to be a real woman. Gum Sing Mo thought that the director was highly demanding. During the shoot he also learned from other actors.

Hung Doi Lam who went to the movie alone wanted to get a photo with her idol Gum Sing Mo. Yet once she arrived she felt embarrassed. When asked whether Aaron Kwok Fu Sing or Gum Sing Mo was more handsome, Hung Doi Lam said, "They are different types of handsome, different quality, different personalities." As for whether height could decide a winner, Hung Doi Lam said, "You can't gauge with that, I can only say that I am more familiar with Aaron." Also came to support Gum Sing Mo, Fala Chen said that when she was in school she already dreamt about meeting Gum Sing Mo. She said, "This is a complex, when I see him in my dream I would definitely faint but in real life I didn't." Yau Suk Ching who attended with her husband Shum Ka Wai said that Sandra Ng Kwan Yu invited her. At the same time because it was a martial art film, she did not bring her children.

[2011.07.27] NICHOLAS TSE'S SALARY SURPASSES CECILIA CHEUNG'S

courtesy of on.cc

Nicholas Tse Ting Fung's film salary reportedly is ahead of Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi's. Earlier winning the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor, his worth took off as his salary already exceeded 16 million. He was able to make even more than Pak Chi's 15 million!

Although Ting Fung got a raise, many directors fought to make offers to him. Aside from Wong Jing, Alex Law Kai Yui and Mabel Cheung Yuen Ting, all of whom appeared at Ting Fung's company, reportedly Benny Chan Muk Sing, Dante Lam Chiu Yin, and the Pang Brothers were all in negotiation with Ting Fung. Supposedly Yuen Woo Ping has also joined the fray with an offer for Ting Fung to star in the film WUDANG with Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo) and Wang Leehom (Wong Lik Won).

Ting Fung's THE VIRAL FACTOR (YIK JIN) is planning for a Lunar New Year release (January 23 Lunar New Year's Day), while Pak Chi's THE LION ROARS 2 (HOR DUNG SI HAU II) is planning for a Valentine's Day (February 14) release. With THE VIRAL FACTOR's momentum, a month long run in the Mainland would be no surprise and they had a chance to go head to head.

Ting Fung's manager Mani Fok Man Hei was asked about Ting Fung's raise and Yuen Woo Ping's new film. "Ting Fung indeed got a raise, but the amount is a business secret that I am not at liberty to reveal. Lord Eight two years ago already offered Ting Fung two movies, but we haven't received the WUDANG script. We appreciate Lord Eight's admiration very much and really want to work with Lord Eight. (Why do you feel about THE VIRAL FACTOR and THE LION ROARS 2's almost direct confrontation?) Full blossom everywhere is a good thing."

Yesterday Pak Chi was accused of often missing work without reason and arrogantly yelling at workers. The team completely denied the accusations and said that Pak Chi's work attitude was great and never took off without reason.

Three "lonely women" Rene Liu (Lau Yuek Ying), Kwai Lun-Mei, and Angelababy yesterday attended their new film LOVE IN SPACE (CHUEN KAU YIT LUEN) press conference. Their males co-stars like Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Eason Chan Yik Shun were nowhere to be found. Even Siu Mei could not help but "warn" her co-star, "Chan Yik Shun, if I don't see you next time, you are dead!" The crowd cracked up.

Romancing with Chan Yik Shun in the film, Siu Mei revealed that she spent two days to grasp the character that had a OCD feel and somewhat neurotic. At the same time she also revealed that the toughest was scenes with Chan Yik Shun. "Because he truly is very funny, facing him I constantly laughed!" However because most of her location was in Sydney, she said this shoot was the most comfortable. "I feel everyday was like I was on vacation. With the steady shoot schedule and no over night shoots, I even got to enjoy fresh seafood daily."

Playing an astronaut Lau Yuek Ying in order to interpret the condition in space, she spent over 20 days on the wires. One day she was even on the wire for 8 hours. Even when she had to go to the bathroom she could only force herself to "beg" the director. However the director joked, "The time on the wire wasn't enough, I feel you have to hang for 12 hours!" Lau Yuek Ying immediately had a helpless look on her face. When asked about her sexiest scene in the film, she said, "In the film I had to open up Kwok Fu Sing's pajamas while he was sleeping to examine his body condition, which should be more exciting than kissing!"

Nicholas Tse Ting Fung and Jay Chou (Chow Kit Lun) yesterday attended the film THE VIRAL FACTOR (YIK JIN) press conference in Beijing. Ting Fung was in a decent mood and often displayed a smile. Even Chow Kit Lun could not help but praise Ting Fung for his high emotional quotient. If reporters were chasing him he might have already hit a reporter.

Director Dante Lam Chiu Yin yesterday led Chow Kit Lun, Tse Ting Fung, Bai Bing and Lin Peng attended the film's first press conference in Beijing. The film will be released next Lunar New Year. Production videos were played as the four leads' costumes were unveiled. The footage had plenty of Ting FUng and Chow Kit Lun's life risking jump from great heights. Ting Fung yesterday wore a black shirt, jeans and sunglasses. With a chok look all the way, Ting Fung often snickered. During the group photo, Ting Fung even said to Lin Peng, "With sunglasses I can look around without any problem!" The actors talked about their production. Speaking of soaking in the Dead Sea in Jordan, the excessive salt content hurt their rears. Then they had to favor one side as they walked. Chairman Chou joked, "Then you are perfect for singing my 'Chrysanthemum Pavilion'!"

Ting Fung in the film had many dangerous stunts. Aside from jumping from seventh or eighth floor he also had to roll on the ground. He said that he would never do that again because he only had one life. Chairman Chou also said that this has been the most difficult production. The intense action scenes were challenging physically for him. He also praised Ting Fung for not only being cool but also having very high emotional quotient. If not for the reports, he could not tell that something happened to Ting Fung on the set.

Chairman Chou was asked whether his mood was affected when the media descended upon Ting Fung during the shoot. He said no, it only affected Ting Fung from going out. Chairman Chou praised Ting Fung's high emotional quotient. Each time he consoled him, he would say he was "fine". Chairman Chou pointed out that if something happened to him, he might hit a reporter because his emotional quotient was not as high. As the media focused on Ting Fung's marriage troubles, Chairman Chou did not feel it was unfair. He felt that the matter would settle down. Chairman Chou also said that he would work with Ting Fung and Lam Chiu Yin again, but not only an action film. His hand was not for holding a gun but for playing a piano.

[2011.07.26] LOUIS KOO IS KING OF SUMMER BOX OFFICE

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

OVERHEARD 2 (SIT TING FUNG WON 2) yesterday held a Beijing press conference. Directors Alan Mak Siu Fai and Felix Chong Man Keung led stars Louis Koo Tin Lok and Michelle Ye (Yip Shuen) in attendance. At the press conference, Koo Tin Lok was presented with the "King of Summer Box Office" title to honor his appearance in the Mainland summer slot for the third year in a row and making over 100 million over two years at the box office. Goo Jai even had the nickname "Summer Vacation Koo".

Koo Tin Lok was rather excited when he received his title. He joked that he could finally be "crowned". Later he said that the real "kings" should be the entire OVERHEARD 2 cast and crew. Yip Shuen and Goo Jai in the film played a couple. Yip Shuen praised this husband as

very "handsome" and a great actor. He truly deserved that title of box office king. She hoped to one day benefit from him and become "the queen of the box office".

As for which of the three lead actors' performances were the most satisfactory, the directors said, "(Danie Wu) Ng Yin Cho, Koo Tin Lok and Lau Ching Wan actually have very different acting styles. OVERHEARD 2 gave them the most room to perform so their acting bug could have its fill. I like the three of them very much, they all are veteran actors with plenty of experience. During the shoot communication was particularly smooth, so the collaboration was great."

Goo Jai has been making one movie after another in recent years, but he said that later he would be interesting in working behind the scenes and next year he will have a new direction. Would Goo Jai want to direct or produce a film? He joked, "Props!"
