Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, Emotion Cheung Kam Ching, Kilby Chan Chiu Suen, John Ho Kau, Edwin Li Woon Lam, Norman Noel, Kay Chan Cheung Kai yesterday along with director Ho Miu Ki and producers Chan Hing Kai and Janet Chun Siu Chun attended the LOVE LIES (NGOR TAM DIK NA CHEUNG LUEN OI) audience appreciation show. The new film opened last Thursday, as of 3:30 PM yesterday its cumulative box office exceeded HK$ 5 million. Peter Chan Ho Sun showed his support for his wife Ng Kwan Yu, as the couple formed a heart gesture together. Ng Kwan Yu felt that with the current slump film is in, she was already very happy with such a box office performance for the new film. She hoped that it would last until October 1st national day when all Hong Kong cinema tickets would be half price and even more viewers would be able to enjoy the film. Ng Kwan Yu joked that she hoped her 18 year old daughter Jillian Chan Si Ji would accumulate the "romance scam" experience early on, that if she would be fooled she should be fooled early on as it would hurt more when she got older. Cheung Kam Ching asked "Mobile Entertainment" artist Ho Kau while talking about his character why his boss Ronald Cheng Chung Kei did not attend. Ho Kau joked that the boss would have concerts to perform. Cheng Chung Kei also helped and played Ng Kwan Yu's ex in the film.

Ng Kwan Yu said that LOVE LIES was about online fraud. This time a new director was at the helm, and the subject of online scam was both fresh and relevant. She also said that many viewers shared their experiences of being scammed during the event. She was the most concerned about whether any viewer has been deceived for sex. She said that she has also experienced phone scams. "I once received a recorded phone call asking me whether I wanted to listen in Cantonese or Mandarin. I chose Cantonese, but the people who answered the call all spoke Mandarin; at least lie better. I had time so I played along with him, I even asked him to find someone who could speak Cantonese then hung up. Then he called me again and asked me why I hung up. That was really funny, while scamming people he was copping this attitude."

Kwan Yu felt that the new film was like a cautionary film. After watching it, the mother of her daughter's classmate said that she would recommend it to their friends to avoid being deceived.

Cheung Kam Ching said that some viewers had seen it five times already. He said that he would also bring his 19-year-old daughter to the theater because he thought her daughter was easily deceived. He was the most concerned that his daughter would be fooled and hurt her fragile heart, but he neither knew nor dared to ask his daughter if she was dating.

Kwan Yu and her daughter Jillian Chan Si Chi got along like friends and talked about everything, but she lamented that Jillian was still not dating, "A 18 or 19 years old girl needs to have a love life. (Does she have a crush on someone?) Her personality is a bit arrogant. Since she was 4 years old, I have asked her if she liked any classmates. When she was little she did. Once she grew up, I again asked her if she has met anyone she was interested in; alas she has not. Next year she will go to college; I hope whether she fools someone or someone fools her, they would all be an experience as long as no one got their hearts broken." She and Cheung Kai Chung said in unison that they would pay close attention to their daughters' every move.

Speaking of the national day, all theater tickets in Hong Kong would be half-price. Kwan Yu felt that it would be a good thing and hoped that LOVE LIES would run until the national day. She has learned that some viewers have watched it five times, and her daughter has also watched it twice. Because Jillian admired her and Papa, Peter Chan Ho Sun, she would watch all of her parents' movies. She also revealed that her daughter wanted to participate in on screen performances and will study performing. Will Jillian be her successor? Kwan Yu said, "I don't know how funny she is. She is more serious, and she must be as lucky as us to be able to."

The teaser poster and two trailers have been released. In the trailers everyone was tense in the face of the disaster. Playing an environmental protection expert, Lau Tak Wah was in tears as he watched the radiation disaster that could engulf Hong Kong at any time. In addition the radiation leakage in the recycling site caused affected citizens to suffer from skin ulcers, organ failure, and even death; playing the fire department captain, Bai Yu led his brethren Louise Wong Dan Nei, Fish Liew Chi Yu, Dee Ho Kai Wah, Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun, Leung Chung Hang, Locker Lam Ka Hei and Wesley Wong Hoi Kei to the front line of the disaster scene to save lives. Lau Tak Wah and Mok Man Wai collaborated again 19 years after WAIT 'TIL YOU'RE OLDER (TUNG MUNG KEI YUEN). Lau Tak Wah as an environmental expert and Mok Man Wai as a high-ranking official had a highly combustible power struggle in the film, which Mok Man Wai said that was a lot of fun.

courtesy of mingpao.com

Philip Ng Won Lung, Terrance Lau Chun Him, Lam Yiu Sing, Stephanie Che Yuen Yuen, Rachel Leung Yung Ting, directors Albert Leung Koon Yu and Herbert Leung Koon Shun went to Shatin the night before to attend the premiere of the movie STUNTMAN (MO TAI DOH). Ng Won Lung demonstrated "inch strength" on the stage, and the event also presented a cake to celebrate Ng Yun Lung's birthday that night and Lau Chun Him's birthday next Thursday (26th). Fans at the scene even wished them happy birthday in unison. Ng Won Lung's birthday wish was good health for everyone and world peace; Ah Him said that his birthday coincided with the release date of the movie. His birthday wish was for the movie to have a box office of HK$30 million, but the director laughed and said it could be more.

The birthday boy Ng Won Lung was not only successful in his career recently, he also seems to be lucky in love. He previously revealed that he was eager to date, but he was recently photographed with a long-haired woman to support his friend Raymond Lam Fung at a concert in Macau. Ng Won Lung denied having a new relationship and said that she was a friend he has known for many years. " She is here with her boyfriend tonight. She is a friend I have known for 20 some years from church. She likes Lam Fung so I took her to his concert. I am constantly away for movies, she and her boyfriend helped me take care of the dog at home. All my friends were laughing when they saw the news." Speaking of everyone worrying about his relationship, he said, "I am happy that everyone cares about me. Maybe I'm already developing one!" As for spending his birthday at work, Ng Won Lung said he was very happy to meet the audience and would have dinner with friends. Was he seeing someone? He laughed and said, "How do you know I haven't? I am not saying yet...I am joking. It's better to let things take their own course when it comes to relationships." Did Lau Chun Him have any nice girls to recommend? Lau Chun Him laughed and said that Ng Won Lung knew more girls than him.

Ng Won Lung was invited to learn the chair dance at Lam Fung's concert. He joked, "I didn't sing, otherwise the whole audience would have left!" Lau Chun Him said that he could not go to see Raymond Lam Fung's concert because he was busy with filming. He looked forward to being able to reunite later at TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: DRAGON THRONE (GAU LUNG SING JAI LUNG TAU), THE FINAL CHAMPTER (JUNG JEUNG) or Lam Fung's Hong Kong Coliseum concert. Lau Chun Him said that this time he played a new stuntman, with many action and wire scenes. Earlier in the movie TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING) he had to beat people, but in STUNTMAN he had to take a beating from Ng Won Lung, falling and being thrown. Fortunately he was not injured, not because of his agility but because he took sufficient safety measures beforehand and the action director's safe arrangements. He also said that he admired Ng Won Lung's professionalism and that Ng helped him a lot with the action. What impressed him the most was that Ng performed several dozen moves in a row and the director already accepted the take, Ng Won Lung was very demanding, and re-shot until he was exhausted. Ng Won Lung also said that Ah Him's fight scenes this time were more difficult, at the same time he also thanked him for his acting tips that made his argument scene with Stephen Tung Wai even more effective.

In addition, Lau Chun Him revealed that for his birthday at the end of the month, both he and his girlfriend Cecilia Choi Sze Wan would be at work and would not have time to celebrate. Speaking of his first Taiwan Golden Bell Award nomination with the drama AT THE MOMENT and the opportunity to compete with Wu Kang-Ren for the best television actor throne, was he confident about winning? Lau Chun Him said he has not thought too much about the award and was very happy just to be nominated. He denied that he has shifted his focus to develop in Taiwan.

Gladys Li talks about her bed scene experience in front of "Mommy" Loletta Lee
courtesy of on.cc

Loletta Lee Lai Chun and Gladys Li Ching Kwan recently spoke to HOY and talked about their new film production. The two played mother and daughter. Lee Lai Chun was asked if she was as concerned about her daughter's dating issues in real life as she was in the film. She said frankly, "We don't deliberately talk about it, and she doesn't pay much attention to me. (Have she brought her boyfriend to meet you? ) Yes, the most important thing is that she likes him and is happy. (Does your daughter want you to date?) She hasn't deliberately said it, feeling that my happiness is the most important. (What do you think?) It's very hard to say, leave it to fate! I have let go a lot of things, and don't have so much baggage."

As for Li Ching Kwan's daring bed scene in the film, she said that it should be her biggest breakthrough in her acting career. "The first time I shot a bed scene was for a music video, but this time it was on a bigger scale; because last time for the music video, I didn't take off my clothes. This time had a lot more action, I had to turn around but was scared of wardrobe malfunction."

The beauty pageant event "Miss Hong Kong 2024 Finals" was held last night at the Tseung Kwan O TV City. The 15 beauties gave their best, and the results of this year's competition were as expected. The popular Ellyn Ngai Lok Lam stood out and won the crown, while Emily Leung Ka Ying and Amina Yeung Chi Yiu won the first and second place respectively. The second runner-up, Leung Ka Ying, also won the title of "Miss Photogenic", and Yeung Chi Yiu became the triple crown second runner-up.

In order to fit in with the pageant theme of this year's Miss Hong Kong "Proud To Be A Woman", this year's Miss Hong Kong contest for the first time featured an all-female class of performers and a professional judging panel to select the best winners from a female perspective. The queen of the music industry, Sally Yeh (Yip Sin Man) led the rising stars of the music industry Janees Wong Lok Yin, Sabrina Chiu Chi Lok, Angel Lau Wing Tung, Maggie Chu Chung Yee, Hung Sum Yee, and three members of XiX, Crystal, Charlotte and Caitlin, as guest performers; JW Wong Ho Yee, Yumi Chung Yau Mei and Windy Zhan Tianwen sang the theme song of Miss Hong Kong. The emcee lineup includes Janis Chan Bui Yee, Mayanne Mak Mei Yan, Roxanne Ho Pui Ka, Rachel Chan Yi Tak and Hilary Chong Tsz Shuen. As for the judges of the event, they are also judged by five representative female celebrities from all walks of life, Liza Wang Ming Chuen, Daisy Ho Chiu Fung, Selina Chow Liang Suk Yee, Melissa Kaye Pang Wan Hei and Christine Ip Yeung See Ming; while the "Most Photogenic" judges were representatives of "Wai Yin Association" Mandy Cho Man Lei, Monica Chan Fat Yung, Heidi Chu Hoi Ting, Virginia Yung Ka Shui and Sandy Lau Ching Ting.

This year's Miss Hong Kong has included a lot of interactive elements with the audience and online. People around the world participated in the "My Favorite Beauty" voting event and worked with the judges to select the top four beauties of this year. The relevant voting activities did not officially end until the finals. The trend of the beauties can be reversed at any time based on the live performance of everyone. After the final four were officially selected last night, the event also launched the "Who is the Champion" voting event. People around the world can directly vote for their favorite online. Some of the online votes and the event judges' will each account for half of the score, make the results more variable and exciting. In addition to participating in voting for their favorite contestants, this year's audience also has 100% say in the "Talent Goddess Award". Last night, the TVB online streaming platform myTV SUPER also opened its chatroom, allowing viewers to leave messages and interact in real time. They could also vote directly on the beauties' talent competition and participate in the "Talent Goddess Award" voting event. Another major interactive aspect was that viewers could go to TVB's official social platform to leave messages and ask questions to their favorites. Related questions might be arranged to be answered by the beauties themselves.

At the beginning of the show, all the contestants were arranged to publicly respond to the negative online comments. When Ngai Lok Lam was accused of not being worthy of the title of "City U Michelle Reis", she frankly said that she hoped that with her outstanding performance, everyone would not remember "counterfeit whatever" or "City U Whatever" but "City U's pretty decent Miss Hong Kong Ngai Lok Lam" in quite a show of ambition. Candice Wong Shun Man was criticized online for saying "her face is bigger than a pizza". She laughed at herself, "I even heard someone say that I looked like a squashed pineapple bun!" Rose Chen Tiantian, who does not know Cantonese, was once again ridiculed online, "why not speaking it even worse". With her high EQ, she laughed and replied, "Then I can play President Cao's daughter in LO AND HOLD!" She said that she understood everyone's concern, but thought that she could represent Hong Kong in many special ways -- like her manner of speech being hilarious. However, when Kimmy Chong Hiu Ting responded that she was accused of looking like an MK girl, she stuttered. In the end it was up to emcee Janis Chan Bui Yee to smooth things over: "Mong Kok is a part of Hong Kong, so it's a good representation of Hong Kong."

The 15 beauties responded to online questions one by one on the stage. Zoie Tse Suk Yi was accused of being evil like a "treacherous concubine". She admitted that people should not be judged by their appearance. She also fully kissed up to general manager Eric Tsang Chi Wai, "The charm of the general manager does not lie in height or appearance," Hosts Mak Mei Yan and Ho Pui Ka immediately went "wow" as the camera cut to a smiling Tsang Chi Wai in the audience.  She continued, "but in wisdom and brains that millions of people aspire to possess."

Contestant 10 Clary Wu Zhijing was praised online for being beautiful, but also said to look like a "vixen" (temptress). She said jokingly, "Thank you so much! Because you have to be pretty to be able to play the vixen!" The whole audience burst into laughter. Senior Mayanne Mak said, "You should know that TVB's costumes will definitely make you very pretty. Even I have played the 'turtle lady' (Madame)!"

As for the talent competition, the top 15 beauties were divided into three groups to compete. Group A includes contestant 1 Jessie Chan Chi Tung who sang, 4 Zoie Tse Suk Yee played the piano, 8 Lo Hoi Yee and 15 Kanis Yu Ho Ching performed dancing and aerial yoga respectively; Group B included contestant 6 Adria Li Mansi who performed the ribbon dance on roller skates, 13 Dolores Ching Keung Yuet who performed bell-ringing skills on roller skates, 2 Ellyn Ngai Lok Lam, 5 Kimmy Chong Hiu Ting, 9 Rose Chen Tiantian and 12 Tracy Chung Chui Sze danced; Group C included contestant 3 Candice Wong Shun Man sang, 7 Yvonne Qin Jiwen performing stick skills, 10 Clary Wu Zhijing performing sword dance.

Since the "Talent Goddess Award" was newly added this year, many beauties in the "talent competition" tried their best to stand out. Among them, Kanis Yu Ho Ching performed "Sexy Aerial Yoga", Leung Ka Ying performed "Shock Wave Drumming", Yeung Chi Yiu performed Beijing Opera with a ribbon dance, and Clary Wu Zhijing's sword dance all left a deep impression on the audience. In particular when Wu Zhijing dropped her sword and then calmly continued the performance, even Elena Kong Mei Yee could not help but praise her. However, Yeung Chi Yiu even performed a split and received a lot of applause. Yeung Chi Yiu finally defeated Wu Zhijing and received the award from the guest presenter Samantha Ko Hoi Ning with a large number of online votes. .

After the 15 beauties walked around the venue in silver swimsuits, the top 10 were announced, including Ngai Lok Lam, Wong Shun Man, Zoie Tse Suk Yi, Yvonne Qin Jiwen, Kerry Lo Hoi Yi, Wu Zhijing, Leung Ka Ying, Tracy Chung Chui Sze, Yeung Chi Yiu and Yu Ho Ching. Chen Tian Tian, one of the favorites before the competition, was eliminated in the first round in a shocking manner. The swimsuit question-and-answer session that followed invited a think tank of 100 people to be responsible for scoring, but the relevant questions failed to make the contestants show their due intelligence. Yeung Chi Yiu's original answer of "mango pomelo sago" for "two item rice" choices to represent Hong Kong made no sense, but she won 74 votes she took the lead and won the "Top 100 Think Tank Goddess Award" in the next victory. She explained that she wanted to add the "mango pomelo sago" to the two item rice. "I feel very happy to be in Hong Kong, every time I return to Hong Kong I am very happy." In addition, Yvonne Qin had to interpret the expressions of different weather conditions like the station's animated Mr. Weather; she smiled and pouted in a cute performance but only received 29 votes.

As for "Miss Photogenic", Leung Ka Ying won the title. She also joined the top four together with Yeung Chi Yiu, Ngai Lok Lam and Wu Zhijing. The four people debated on the topics of "co-ed bathrooms" and "separated marriage". Except for Ngai Lok Lam, the other three seemed nervous when speaking, which made their Cantonese a bit unclear and them fighting over stuff to say. Fortunately, they were not boring. After singer Sally Yeh (Yip Sin Man) led a group of juniors to perform a song and dance number, the pageant immediately announced the results of the competition and the atmosphere reached a climax. In the end, Ngai Lok Lam lived up to expectations and successfully ascended to the title of Miss Hong Kong this year, while Leung Ka Ying and Yeung Chi Yiu won the first and third runner-up respectively. Yeung Chi Yiu even swept up 3 awards in one breath and became the triple crown second runner-up, while Wu Zhijing came in "fourth".

This year's Miss Hong Kong performance was quite eye-catching. First, singers JW, Yumi Chung Yau Mei, and Windy Zhan Tianwen led the contestants to sing this year's Miss Hong Kong theme song "Proud To Be A Woman." Then the contestants appeared in groups with their predecessors Carmaney Wong Ka Man, Juliana Kwok Pui Man, Denice Lam Yuk Wai and others. Wong Ka Man descended on wires, wielded a sword and performed a backflip, which was full of style. However, she was caught once and could not turn over. Fortunately, she succeeded in the second time. Kwok Pui Man performed the fan dance and Lam Yuk Wai played the umbrella dance, both showing off their long legs and turning heads. Kwok Pui Man had difficulty when trying to stand on one leg and had help to maintain her balance.

The "hero of the generation" Norman Chui Shiu Keung, who became famous for his role as "Wan Fei Yeung" in the RTV martial arts drama REINCARNATED, died of esophageal cancer in Beijing on the 1st of this month at the age of 73. His current wife, who was 30 years his junior, died of heart disease days later; suspected of being too sad while dealing with his death. Chui Shiu Keung's daughter Erica Chui Wing Kwan said, "Thank you for your concern. I hope everyone will give some space to our family to deal with it." His son Edward Chui Woei Dong said, "Thank you for your concern. We are dealing with it with the family." Veteran filmmaker Tin Kai Man got sentimental over Chui Shiu Keung's death, pointing out that Chui Shiu Keung lived in Hengdian and Bejing. Seniors did not like to have physical examinations, he did not know that he had cancer and passed away very quickly. He revealed that in January a friend made contact with Chui Shiu Keung and he was still in good condition. He also revealed that Erica Chui was dealing with funeral arrangements for Chui Shiu Keung and his wife. He was saddened by his good friend's passing. They have worked together countless times. He praised Chui Shiu Keung as a very good, hard working and professional actor.

Chui Shiu Keung was admitted to the third training class of Shaw Brothers Film Company in 1972. He was a stuntman early in his career. Martial arts movies were popular in the 1970s, and he often appeared as a hero in them. In 1977, he was on loan from Shaw Brothers to make TV series for RTV, and became popular in Taiwan with his role as "Wan Fei Yeung" in the 1979 martial arts drama REINCARNATED. Due to the series RTV, which was at a rating disadvantage at the time, defeated TVB once and forced it to make changes to its prime time programming. However REINCARNATED recast midway because RTV asked Chui Shiu Keung to perform in another 30 episodes at the last minute and conflicted with his film contract. RTV once issued legal letters but finally settled the matter out of court.

Chui Shiu Keung has participated in more than 100 film and television works. In his early days he mainly played heroes, but later he changed to playing villains. His more prominent role was playing the villain "Chiu Mo Gik" in the 1992 Stephen Chow Sing Chi movie KING OF BEGGARS. As the Hong Kong film market slumped in the late 1990s, he rarely performed in Hong Kong; he mostly filmed dramas in the mainland, where he settled in Beijing. In March this year he and Jordan Chan Siu Chun worked on a mainland video game commercial and was still in great spirit. Reportedly Chiu Shiu Keung still had 6 yet to be released projects.

Chui Shiu Keung had many marriages during his lifetime. His first wife was Cheung Siu Fung. They wed in 1975 and split up 4 years later. The next year he wed his second wife was Ho Suk Foon. However, they ended up in divorce in 1986 and had a son, Chui Yik Dong, who was a Hong Kong creative and active in the advertising and film industries. In 1983, then 15 year old actress Shirley Yim (Suet Lei) fell in love with Chui Shiu Keng while filming and accidentally became a third party. As a result, her relationship with her sister Michelle (Mai Suet), who was also an artist, broke down. Reportedly Suet Lei did not find out that Chui Shiu Keung had a family only after becoming pregnant, but she never looked back despite the strong objection from her elder sister. In 1983 at the age of 17 she gave birth to their elder son, Chui Woei Dong, and in 1987 they gave birth to their daughter Erica Chu Ying Kwan. They broke up in 1998. Chui Woei Dong is an independent singer in Vancouver, Canada, and the host of TV programs on Fairchild, a local Chinese-language TV station. He has now returned to Hong Kong to develop his acting career. Daughter Chui Wing Kwan was the winner of the 2011 Miss Chinese in Vancouver, Canada. In 2005, Chui Shiu Keung remarried and ushered in his third marriage. He married his mainland dancer wife, who was more than 30 years younger and reportedly had a 13 year old son and a 19 year old daughter.

The Albert Leung Koon Hiu and Herbert Leung Koon Shun directed, Terrance Lau Chun Him, Stephen Tung Wa (Brother Dee), Philip Ng Won Lung, and Cecilia Choi Sze Wan starred film STUNTMAN (MO TAI DOH) will be released on September 26 Released. It has attracted attention from film festivals around the world before its released and was selected for four overseas film festivals, including the 44th Hawaii International Film Festival, the Hong Kong International Film Festival "MAKING WAVES - NAVIGATORS OF HONG KONG CINEMA 2024" Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka Stops. In early October, directors Albert and Herbert will personally participate in the Hawaii International Film Festival.

Lau Chun Him played Lee Sai Lung, a young stuntman who was passionate about Hong Kong action films. He had many action scenes, including a gunfight scene shot in Yau Ma Tei. He frankly expressed that he greatly admired the efficiency of the stunt team that day. "The film budget was limited, that morning basically we had a very short time to complete an entire gunfight scene. In a morning over 100 shots were taken. I have never tried to complete it in such a short time." Another scene of jumping off a building also left a deep impression on him. "I am not afraid of heights, but I feel a little timid standing 6 floors above for the shoot; because even with wires, I have never stood on the edge of a building, looked at the height below and tried to jump down." Ah Him managed to overcome his fear and even shot the jumping scene several times. He pointed out that the brethren had it the toughest.

In the film Tung Wai also challenged himself to shoot the building jump scene. He and Ah Him agreed that the hardest part was the group of wire work brethren. Turning 70 this year, Brother Dee revealed that before the shoot he was a little timid because this was the first time in 28 years that he was on the wires. Finally, he only took 3 takes to complete the filming and proved that Brother Dee was still sharp as a knife.

STUNTMAN paid tribute to the elders and professionals in the Hong Kong film industry. It recently held a star-studded friendly screening, with Chin Ka Lok and Chin Siu Ho in attendance. Started as stuntmen themselves, directors Albert and Herbert teamed up with Philip and a group of stunt people who were involved in the film entertained guests in a small performance before the film and instantly heated up the atmosphere. After watching the movie, the president of the Hong Kong Stuntmen Association Chin Kar Lok praised the movie for its excellence. He was moved by the spirit of Hong Kong in the movie and recalled his day in production in the past.
