[2023.06.23] SANDRA NG'S DAUGHTER REJECTS HER GUEST STARRING OFFER

The film LOVE LIES (NGOR TAM DIK NA CHEUNG LUEN OI) two nights ago shot on location at the Central pier. Star Sandra Ng Kwan Yu had to run back and forth on the pedestrian walkway. Peter Chan Ho Sun, their daughter Jillian Chan Si Ji and niece Natalie Hsu (Hui Yan Yi, Ann Bridgewater (Pak On Nei)'s daughter) visited the set. Because it was Duen Ng Festival Eve, Kwan Yu not only had the support of her family from their set visit but also celebrated the holiday earlier.

Kwan Yu in the film would play a gynecologist. On this day she would wear a doctor's surgical gear and sneakers to run back and forth on a Central overpass. Shooting in the high heat and scorching sun, Kwan Yu joked that since getting up and going to the bathroom this morning she has not stopped sweating. "Actually I am a little worried too, luckily I have been running normally." Kwan Yu was shooting on the busy streets and attracted fans to ask her for pictures. Both fans happened to be nurses, which matched rather well with Kwan Yu's doctor gear. Kwan Yu also pointed out that shooting in 34 degree Celsius temperature indeed has been rough, luckily she felt very sweet inside. Aside from Peter Chan Ho Sun and Jillian, the family of three of Peter's sister also just arrived from Los Angeles and visited the set. Seeing the family showing their support, Kwan Yu said that this day's effort had a price. She also said that she has been rather happy that this Duen Ng Festival the family would be able to get together. When she saw her family's support, their passion has already melted her right away. "When they arrived I really had 'chills to the heart'; but since it was too hot, after standing for awhile they said that they wanted to leave."

Since the family was on the set, Kwan Yu invited her daughter and niece Natalie to guest star in the crowd. However since it was too hot, Jillian took less than 15 seconds before turning Mommy down. She joked that she would rather enjoy the air conditioning at the shopping center. Kwan Yu joked, "I told her I would pay her 100 bucks, but she still said don't bother. She stood for half a hour and left." Aside from Kwan Yu's family, Natalie also treated everyone to cold beverages out of her own pocket while visiting the set. Kwan Yu praised how nice her niece was.

The MIRROR member Anson Kong and Bai Ling starred suspense thriller BACK HOME (CHUT YUET FAN GUAI) has been selected for the 22nd New York Asian Film Festival and would hold its world premiere there. The team was very excited. AK said, "I am very honored to be selected, to be screened at at such an important event. I am very grateful and happy. I hope Hong Kong actors and films would be able to be enjoyed by even more people of different places. I also thank everyone for paying attention to and giving me the opportunity to perform." The Chow Yun Fat starred film ONE MORE CHANCE (BIT GIU NGOR DOH SUN) yesterday held a "Fat Gor treats you to ice cream" promotion in Mongkok, as Fat Gor and Fat Soh treated everyone to ice cream out of their own pockets. Actors Kenny Wong Tak Bun, Amy Lo Wai Man and Will Or Wai Lam gathered from 3 to 5PM, in 2 hours they gave away 10,000 cups of ice cream and drew a large crowd. Or Wai Lam and Lo Wai Man promoted for the first time with ice cream, for which they said that it was in coordination with an ice cream scene in the film. Since the pandemic they have not had any opportunity to be in close contact with the audience, so this time was perfect; although it was very crowded, Lo Wai Man was not worried. Because she has always been more of a tomboy, she was not afraid of crowds. Instead for the promotion the more people the better.

In the film, Or Wai Lam played Fat Gor's son. Lo Wai Man played a social worker who would mediate between father and son and bring them closer together. Or Wai Lam praised how happy working with Fat Gor has been. He would physically take care of everyone, and constantly ran and ate with everyone. Finally he ended up gaining a lot of weight that he had to lose. Lo Wai Man said that she has always been diligent about exercising, so she did not gain weight from the cuisine. However she praised Fat Gor for taking care of the entire team well whether during the production or breaks. Originally she only learned from the news that Fat Gor liked to take the MTR and selfies, thus at first contact she would be nervous around this elder. After working together, she felt that he was very friendly and attentive to everyone. He knew to protect people so everyone during the performance would not be afraid, and they would perform even better. From him she learned a lot. In addition, actually elders Wong Tak Bun and the late Dick Liu Kai Chi also taught the younger generation like them a lot of acting technique while working together.

Yesterday was Stephen Chow Sing Chi's 61st birthday. On this day he announced the good news of a new film production. Since directing and starring in the classic film SHAOLIN SOCCER (SIU LUM JOOK KAU), he would make another soccer related new film SHAOLIN WOMEN'S SOCCER (SIU LUM NUI JOOK) and begin open recruitment for actors of different nationalities!

Sing Yeh after directing THE NEW KING OF COMEDY (SUN HEI KET JI WONG) in 2019 has not made a new film. Yesterday on social media he posted a photo of his new film SIU LUM NUI JOOK's script with the SHAOLIN SOCCER score as the background music. After 22 years he finally would make another SHAOLIN SOCCER film, which many fans have looked forward to upon hearing the news.

Sean Lau Ching Wan earlier with DETECTIVE VS. SLEUTHS (SUN TAM DAI JIN) won his third Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor. Because he has been busy with making movies, earlier he finally had time to celebrate with dinner with friends Anthony Wong Chau Sun, Dayo Wong Tze Wa, Francis Ng Chun Yu, Cheung Tat Ming and others. He even invited Lau Siu Ming to attend.

Chau Sun said that everyone has been very busy. Chun Yu's wife has been very thoughtful as she organized this gathering. They due to the pandemic have not gotten together in 4 years already. That night everyone had a lot of fun, each said that they had health issues. "Ming Sir in recent years doesn't want to go out. We keep asking him to. The Chau Sun founded Dionysus Contemporary Theatre would celebrate its 10th anniversary this year with a special release of the play ENIGMA VARIATIONS, as well as a photo exhibition and a memoir release. "This memoir only briefly talks about my childhood to when I founded Dionysus Contemporary Theatre. I narrated it and someone else wrote it. It would be released during the Book Fair. If I would have time in a few years, I might personally write a memoir."

Speaking of the play's Yau Hawk Sau praising Chau Sun for already knowing all the lines. Chau Sun joked, "Because I have a lot of time, remembering lines has some techniques, but still relies on memorization."
