Kam Kwok Leung's film YIT OI DOH (HOT LOVE ISLAND) earlier had a Rashomon incident with its female lead casting. At first it was Sandra Ng Kwan Yu reuniting with Simon Yam Tat Wa, but Kwan Yu resigned under pregnancy suspicions. Then Carina Lau Ka Ling was said to be the ideal choice.
Kam Kwok Leung yesterday announced that he has confirmed "Lau Ka Ling will not participate". He said, "Lau Ka LIng went to the Venice Film Festival. Due to scheduling issues, male lead Yam Tat Wa and her schedule were hard to coordinate. Thus she has already officially declined the role. However she recommended to me a female lead that she admired very much." He stated that female star has already agreed to perform but because they have not signed a contract yet he was not at liberty to reveal her identity. Kam Kwok Leung described this female star as international class. Was she Zhang Ziyi, Tang Wei, Zhou Xun or Michelle Yeoh (Yeung Chi King)? Kam Kwok Leung denied them all.
Has he been in contact with Ng Kwan Yu lately? Kam Kwok Leung said, "Earlier I ran into Kwan Yu taking her daughter swimming. I haven't noticed her figure to see whether she was pregnant, but I saw her rather enjoying her home life. This is something to be happy about."
