The Simon Yam Tat Wa, Stephy Tang Lai Yan, Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun and Mimi Kung Chi Yan starred film LITTLE RED SWEET (HUNG DAU) has been invited to be the London East Asian Film Festival closing film this year. This screening would also be the world premiere of the film. Director Chow Wing and Yam Tat Wa would attend the event in London.
LITTLE RED SWEET focuses on the life of Cheung Hing and his Chaozhou family of four in Kowloon City, showing the joys and sorrows of a family in this multicultural community. The story revolves around a Chaozhou mad man father, a tough but tender mother, a daughter who works hard for her dreams, and a restless and unruly son. The film depicts the warmth and well-being of Kowloon City and the changes in the community from a unique perspective. Receiving international film festival recognition for his directing debut, director Vincent Chow Wing said, "As a newcomer to Hong Kong films, the selection of my first work as the closing film by LEAFF is an affirmation of Hong Kong films. I will take this opportunity to communicate with more outstanding creators, and I am very much looking forward to this event."
Yam Tat Wa said that he was very honored that his new work could be the closing film, "LITTLE RED SWEET is a film from which everyone can learn what to cherish after watching it, what is forever, and it is an immortal food therapy that we grew up with." Currently working abroad, Tang Lai Yan was also excited about the good news. "This is a movie that is full of Hong Kong sentiments, and I feel very honored to be one of the leading actors!"
