TVB ditched Miss Hong Kong host Eric Tsang Chi Wai and assigned Carol Cheng Yui Ling to the important task. She said that this year the celebrity judges would select the round of 12 then the round of five and the top three. The audience then votes among the top three. She no longer had to cast the deciding vote. She also clarified that last year the company told her to do that. She did not offer to cast the deciding vote. Speaking of Tsang Chi Wai being banned from hosting Miss Hong Kong, Sister Do said, "I don't know, I just work here. I don't mind working with anyone. I don't make the decision. If you want to ask someone you can ask the company executives." Would Miss Hong Kong feel a loss of luster with Chi Wai? She still officially said, "I am very happy to work with anyone!"

Celebrity judge Nat Chan Pak Cheung revealed that he just went to Taiwan with Tsang Chi Wai to celebrate Alan Tam Wing Lun's birthday. The 25th would be Ah Lek's 35th anniversary in the business and everyone would celebrate Chi Wai's career success. Yet Chi Wai recently received a TVB ban, his career should have stalled? Ah Lek said, "You are wrong, Mr. Tsang is a Hengdian tycoon. He has a hotel that is worth 700 million opening soon, even the property around it is worth at least 3 to 4 billion. After Miss Hong Kong I will immediately go to Hengdian to be a brown noser and kiss up to him." Did he know about the TVB ban? Ah Lek said, "Why would you ban a multibillionaire boss, why would a show ban him? Chi Wai had a lot of fun in Taiwan ths time, everyone was drunk for three nights straight." Did he feel tha Chi Wai was upset about not being able to host Miss Hong Kong? Ah Lek asked, "Wasn't Chi Wai the one who didn't want to? I don't get to so I am only a guest. Actually no matter who works, the most important is to have rivals. Chi Wai loves competition, so now he is in real estate because he has rivals."

First time Miss Photogenic judge Miss Congeniality presenter Kristal Tin Yui Nei said that she was famous for being the least photogenic, so she would be extra picky with the candidates. "People always say I am prettier in person than on camera, but it's natural so I don't get to complain." As for her sexy dress, she said that it was very pretty and lately she has been working out on exercising. She did not want to waste the pretty figure.

Grace Chan Hoi Lam said that she was more conservative than before she was married, but it would depend on the event. Her dress last night was very elegant. Has her husband Kevin Cheng Ka Wing ask her not to be too sexy? She said, "No, he usually respects my fashion choices. He is pleased with most of them. Sometimes he would only mind that it's too low cut. For example he complained about the wedding gown, so today I am considered conservative."

Sisley Choi Si Bui's clothing was similar to the candidates' evening gowns. She said, "I hope to blend myself into the candidates and compete on the stage again." Si Bui said that 5 years have passed since she competed. She remembered that the studio was very cold. Each candidate's hands and feet turned purple from the cold. This experience was truly unforgettable.

Jacqueline Wong Sum Wing and Ali Lee Kai Sum both wore white dresses. Lee Kai Sum originally had to work on a series, but due to scheduling change she had time and immediately borrowed a dress. "Because 6 years ago today I competed in Miss Hong Kong so it is very meaningful and I have to come. In addition I can catch up with my war buddies from back then. I feel over 6 years my journey has been very smooth."

Edwin Siu Ching Nam and Raymond Cho Wing Lim also were first time Miss Hong Kong hosts. Ah Lim said that after watching Miss Hong Kong for over 40 years, he never expected to be able to participate finally and even brought Ah Siu with him. Priscilla Wong Chui Yu was rumored to have forced the issue of marriage with Ah Siu. Ah Lim joked, "You can tell just from how upset Ah Siu looks, but I will save it for him to answer!" Ah Siu responded, "Absolutely nothing like that happened. I don't understand why it's written like this. We can't be happier, but Chui Yu recently has been very busy with the series." As for their wedding plan, Ah Siu said, "We have our own pace. No one would pay us any mind. we are a bird and a fish that long for freedom."

The film MAK LO YUN (WHEAT ROAD PEOPLE) yesterday held a production start ceremony. Leads Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Miriam Yeung Chin Wa and veteran actor Alex Man Chi Leung, Cheung Tat Ming and Nina Paw Hee Ching participated. Before the ceremony Man Ji thoughtfully gave red envelopes to Sing Sing and Chin Wa for their children.

Sing Sing this time played a financial elite whose life took a hard downturn later. Sing Sing said that he took the film mainly because the script and the character moved him. He asked manager Siu Mei to turn down other jobs to focus on this performance, as he hoped to be able to make this Hong Kong domestic production great. He believed that the audience would look forward to it. Sing Sing pointed out that this time the team had quite a caliber, like Sister Paw as his mother, Brother Man Ji and Tat Ming.

Sing Sing and Chin Wa worked together for the first time. Chin Wa pointed out that their relationship in the film was more complicated than the average couple. "The experience of the homeless below the poverty line was a very close subject. I took the role out of curiosity and felt it would be very meaningful. To be able to work with Sing Sing on a good movie like this in my life is a good thing." Chin Wa also said that she originally was still making a series and already felt a little "run down". She still took the role anyway. During the shoot she could not get any sleep when she was in character. The director said that being that tired was right. She did not need make up for the dark circles around her eyes. Sing Sing's look yesterday also looked very down on his luck. He said that earlier he went to "dig through" trash. Sing Sing said that the character had to be close to reality thus he had to shoot in old districts like Sham Shui Po and Mongkok.

Man Chi Leung in the film MAK LO YUN played a homeless person whose home was a 24 hour fast food shop, Uncle Wait. He joked that in the previous film he played an uncle, this time he was promoted to grandpa. In the film he was both rough and miserable. Man Ji admitted, "I can deeply relate, last year I was 60. This year I am already 61, like I am waiting for 62 or 63 to come, like I am waiting to die. As an old age I don't hope for much. Those without children are even sadder!" Man Ji also dragged his wife for a photo together and even thanked her with a kiss. "My wife deserves a lot of credit. Because of my high blood sugar level, I have to take my medicine on time. Half a year ago the doctor already told me that if I didn't I might not be able to make movies again. At the time my legs already couldn't walk, so I turned down a lot of action performance. Mainly I didn't have a lot of confidence to play them well."

Leon Lai Ming released photos of his daughter. Chin Wa said that it was something to be happy about and asked if she looked like Lai Ming. "Many people say my son doesn't look like me, but I think he does." Sing Sing also answered, "Leon may be happy to death, but I am more low key. I won't show it myself. Maybe later (at school) it will be beyond me."

The 16th World Outstanding Chinese Award took place last night at the Convention Center in Wanchai. Louis Koo Tin Lok was the only show business recipient ths year. Goo Jai received the award from Emperor Group chair Dr. Albert Yeung Sau Sing and Michael Hui Koon Man.

How would Goo Jai celebrate? He said, "I never thought about it. later I will have to work on the film A WITNESS OUT OF THE BLUE (FAN JUI YIN CHEUNG). It will wrap this week. Earlier we already shot several scenes over night. In the past few weeks the weather has been unstable and it rained constantly. Several days ago a yellow rain (storm warning) was raised. Often we worked and we waited. However on the Lunar July 14th, the Ghost Festival, no rain came. The team arranged for a shoot at a mass grave that day. In the past I would suggest a barbecue when we shot in the country. This time when I mentioned it, everyone said no. They were afraid that more people would join in as the barbecue went on. I myself did not dare to look around as he was afraid that I would see other things." Since Goo Jai worked on movies like TROUBLESOME NIGHT he probably would be more courageous? He humorously said, "If I work on a special agent movie, would my agility be extraordinary? (Has you run into anything strange?) No, I only heard about them a lot." Goo Jai after finishing A WITNESS OUT OF THE BLUE would be busy promoting. He would only have one or two days off. Goo Jai joked, "I have to take a day or two off. When I get back I have to fill out a form for vacation, let's see if the guy would approve it. (Which guy?) Me, haha." He said that as a workaholic when he was off he would be uneasy, as his mind kept thinking about work. Thus the award presentation was like a half day off for him.

[2018.08.25] CHIN KA LOK LEADS BROTHERS TO CHALLENGE THEIR PHYSICAL LIMITS

courtesy of on.cc

Dior Cheng Yi Kin, Jordan Chan Siu Chun, Michael Tse Tin Wa, Chin Ka Lok, Jerry Lamb Hiu Fung starred action epic THE GOLDEN JOB (WONG GUM HING DAI) yesterday released its production highlight online and lured the audience in with exciting action scenes. Director Chin Ka Lok is an experienced action director. This time he used up his entire arsenal, martial art action, gun fights, car chases, explosions, actually behind the scene all the brothers put in a lot of hard work. They not only had to carry 30 to 40 pound real guns as they ran the hills; they also had to climb rocks, flip, climb walls, wire work......all of which challenged their physical limits; also because of personally performing different highly difficult stunts almost every lead was injured. For example Cheng Yi Kin suffered a shoulder ligament tear and needed to be rushed to the hospital for treatment; Lam Hiu Fung pulled his neck and could not turn his head; Chan Siu Chun injured his shoulder and hip and needed massage therapy for several months. Chin Ka Lok as a director and an actor personally demonstrated every stunt and even needed a massage therapist to be on all to treat his kneecap injury. To avoid hindering progress, despite their injuries they continued to work after being treated.

Louis Koo Tin Lok, Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Stephy Tang Lai Yun, Kevin Cheng Ka Wing, Michael Tse Tin Wa two nights ago attended the film L STORM (L FUNG BO) premiere. The event displayed photos from Goo Jai and Chilam's first collaboration, the TV series COLD BLOOD WARM HEART (TIN DEI NAM YI). In the photo they were clean cut, Goo Jai's pale skin made a strong contrast to his manufactured tan. No wonder Goo Jai said that he was being "pranked".

L STORM two days ago opened in Hong Kong and opened to HK$ 1.03 million in a single day, defending all the opening foreign films to be the day's box office champion. The actors shared their production experience at the premiere. Director David Lam Tak Luk presented honey to the August 15th birthdyay boy Kevin Cheng Ka Wing and wished him a sweet honeymoon. He also gave glasses to Monday (the 27th)'s birthday boy Chilam and the event also displayed Chilam and Goo Jai's still from the 95 series COLD BLOOD WARM HEART. Chilam joked, "At the time I looked so old. It's sharp, I loooked like just like I did yesterday." Goo Jai put away his smile and said, "What do their birthdays have to do with the photo. Obviously it's a prank on me!"

Goo Jai said that he did not feel awkward from seeing the photo, but it really was not related to their birthdays. Obviously they used the photo for a laugh. Chilam joked, "The photo didn't feel too old. 23 years ago we were still child stars, haha." Goo Jai earlier revealed that he would have to lose his tan for a new film. He said, "The film already finished production. Earlier I was almost as pale as the COLD BLOOD WARM HEART era. Only when I came out to see everyone I had a foundation. Recently I have already returned to tan. (Would you be able to accept turning light?) It would depend on the character, I like having a tan." Chilam revealed, "Me too, but after using the tanning light I had freckles all over my face, even on my ears. All the spots weren't too attractive." Goo Jai joked, "Hey, couldn't they be aging spots, haha."

Turning 47 soon, how would Chilam celebrate? He said, "I have thought about it yet, maybe book a show and take friends to see THE L STORM." Goo Jai joked, "My gift to him will be the booking." Chilam also joked if the global box office reached 300 million or so, he would go under the tanning light nude. Goo Jai said, "Then I would go under the light clothed." Finally when asked his former manager being sentenced for two years in prison for embezzling his salary, Chilam said that the matter is in the past and he had no comment.

Tang Lai Yung said that boyfriend Prince Chiu will show his support, but because he was too busy he was not in Hong Kong. He has not have the time to enjoy it. She also said that their dates were either movies, dinners or vacations. Would they celebrate their first Mid Autumn's Festival together? She said, "Probably no, neither of us will be in Hong Kong. (Have you already secretly planned a vacation?) Even if I have I wouldn't tell you, but I really have a job on hand. We never have any special celebration for the Mid Autumn Festival anyway." Despite between in two places, Stephy felt that in terms of distance they saw each other a lot. She even pointed ou that actually Hong Kong and Taiwan were very close and they would fly back and forth. "Of course we don't have to see each other every week. Sometimes when we are busy we won't see each other for one or two months. So far I still can since my movie hasn't started production yet. Next time I will have to work on location and I will be busy for awhile."

[2018.08.24] KATHY YUEN HAS HER EYES ON CARLOS CHAN

Kathy Yuen (Tong Yi) two nights ago attended the film THE SPY WHO DUMPED ME's Hong Kong premiere. Boyfriend Ken Hung Cheuk Lap was not present. She said that she loved to watch movies and run alone. She also said that this film's subject was attractive, the genre that she has always wanted to try. She said, "I have always given people a fragile impression, the one that would get hit. Actually I want to try to be the one who hits. Now I am learning to fight. I hope to show people that I have a tough side. While I am young I want to try everything."

Tong Yi revealed that in her new film COLD DETECTIVE (SUN TAM DAI JIN) she played a cop and would have action and chase scenes. She would work with Sean Lau Ching Wan and Raymond Lam Fung, but she would have more scenes with Lam Fung. With Carlos Chan Ka Lok she would have romance. She even thought that she and Ka Lok were rather well matched and wanted to become an onscreen couple with him. Was she afraid that her boyfriend would become jealous? She said no, because good looking guys and girls would definitely match well.
