The HK$ 350 million Emperor Motion Picture investment THE GOLDFINGER (GUM SAU JI) would open soon. Yesterday another trailer was released with Tony Leung Chiu Wai's "wild arrogant" as the selling point. His performance was in his grasp and rather eye catching. In the film Charlene Choi Cheuk who had a relationship with him appeared obviously weathered, at a glimpse looked "20 years older".

GOLD since its production start to confirming its December 30th official release has caught attention everywhere. The film company yesterday released another two minute long trailer to explain how Leung Chiu Wai's character got rich and crossed the line. The Anselm Chan Mau Yin directed romantic comedy READY O/R ROT (BUT YUT SING FUN 2) would open on the 30th. With the first film's original team returning, the story would be even more hilarious and warm. At earlier media previews the film received compliments for surpassing the previous film. Some even commented that it was the most entertaining romantic comedy of the past ten years. Two leads Kaki Sham and Chu Pak Hong at the preview invited friends and supports for an early glimpse and shared their personal experience after the screening.

Kaki Sham said, "Recent Hong Kong film releases mainly examined more serious social subjects, few have been romantic comedy. Thus this time with READY O/R ROT's preview before its official release, we watched and laughed together. Just now I too was like everyone, sometimes cheerfully laughing, sometimes affectionately crying. The feeling of 'breathing in and out' with the audience was very hard to forget. this time in the film I played a new father, in real life I have also been lost over parenthood issues. For me, to be able to connect with the audience through the character, experiencing joy, sorrow, sadness and happiness all along with the story truly was the happiest thing for an actor."

The 60th Golden Horse Awards took place last night in Taipei. The most eye catching battle of Best Actor finally went to Wu Kang-ren with ABANG ADIK, as for Best Actress TROUBLE GIRL's Audrey Lin became the youngest Golden Horse Best Actress at age 12! On the red carpet, "Taiwan's number one supermodel" Lin Chiling got attention with a "hickey" on her chest that instantly became the focus. She explained that it was a scar from a past film injury.

As for the results, Taiwan actor Akio Chen with OLD FOX defeated the favorite Bowie Lam Bo Yi for Best Supporting Actor; Beatrice Fang with DAY OFF won Best Supporting Actress; Hong Kong representative Yoyo Tse Wing Yan with FLY ME TO THE MOON won Best New Performer. Brigitte Lin (Lam Ching Ha) and director Chen Kun-hou both received the "Lifetime Achievement Awards". Lin Chiling and famous Japanese director Takeshi Kitano presented "Best New Director". Returning to the Golden Horse Awards stage after many years, she first introduced herself in her trademark girlie voice. Takeshi Kitano humorously said in Japanese that he was "Akira", the name of Lin Chiling's husband, which made her smile and praised him as "very cute"!

"Best New Director" went to Hong Kong director Nick Cheuk Yik Him for TIME STILL TURNS THE PAGES (NIN SIU YUT GEI). He thanked the film's cast and crew and his family. He also revealed that during the production he fell into depression, and thanked his girlfriend for always being by his side. "Thank you for your love, your beautiful soul accompanied me out of the darkness. I love you!" His girlfriend also broke down in the audience. Director Ho advised Hong Kong people to bravely use their own footsteps to properly life until they could see the other side. "In the end I hope myself and everyone who is living in Hong Kong can be even braver, even strongly to use their own footsteps to march forward, properly live life, don't forget everything that is important to them until we can see the other side." Hong Kong animation MONSOON BLUE also won Best Animated Short Film. The event also remembered the late music diva Coco Lee Man during the in memoriam segment.

Also a part of the opening introduction like Yuen Lai Lam, Hong Kong representative Terrance Lau Chun Him with the series AT THE MOMENT rose to fame in Taiwan. This year 4 Hong Kong films have been nominated, including TIME STILL TURNS THE PAGES (NIN SIU YUT GEI), IN BROAD DAYLIGHT (BAK YUT JI HA), FLY ME TO HE MOON (DAN YUEN YUN CHEUNG GAU) AND THE LYRICIST WANNABE (DIN CHI L). TIME and FLY before the award received the audience's choice Best Film and the Prix FIPRESCI respectively. TIME's director Nick Cheuk Yik Him was excited about the award, admitting that he never expected that so many viewers would watch the film. He truly was very happy. Both writer and director, Sasha Chuk Chi Ngan said that FLY's prize felt like a dream come true. Brigitte Lin (Lam Ching Ha) would receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Yesterday she took a private plane and arrived in Taiwan, preparing to attend the film awards.

"I used to study film. To have the chance to come to the Golden Horse Awards, it feels like when I went to school before. The Chuk Chui Ngan written and directed FLY ME TO THE MON won the prix FIPRESCI, revealing that she really liked the late director Hu Bo directed AN ELEPHANT SITTING STILL. This film was in production during the height of the pandemic. Kam Yin Ling stated that she once was a cancer patient, she was a little afraid in crowds so the production tried not to gather too many people. As for her current health condition, she revealed, "I am OK, chemotherapy, electrotherapy, removal surgery, everything that could be done has been done. I hope it won't come back." Kam Yin Ling looked back at the past few years, especially the two years when she was sick. Having one cancer after another made her have many different views on life. "I used to want to go out all the time, have dinner with friends, I would never stay at home; but after getting sick, I realized that where I lived was very comfortable. Having a space like this I am already very lucky, so now I very rarely meet people outside. I wouldn't spend money casually either, because I don't know what would happen. I have learned to cherish everything I have now, I already feel very grateful!"
