Yesterday Anita Yuen Wing Yee (Len Len) accompanied the "counterfeit Lin Minchen" Miko Wong Jie Kee and a group of Malaysian actors to attend the promotion of the movie OMG! MOM'S BIG NEWS (OMG! AH MA YAU HEI), Len Len said that her 18-year-old son Morton Cheung had a date yesterday. Could he accompany his girlfriend and her Mommy? Len Len also doubted, "Accompanying a girlfriend may be a possibility, but if she is accompanying girlfriend's mommy, I don't think he's reached that point. He probably wouldn't. (If your son has a girlfriend would you be jealous?) Well no, I would've only said that 'opposite sex before humanity'." Since her husband Julian Cheung Chi Lam would be a judge on the MIDLIFE SING AND SHINE 3 finale, she could only "stick" to him to watch the show. She also said that she has not yet received her Mothers' Day gift from her son, but knew that her son and her husband have discussed it and looked forward to be surprised. In addition Brian Wong Chak Fung's 58-year-old wife who announced that she was pregnant with her second child, Chan Lai Lai went to see the movie with her family earlier. Len Len made a special trip to congratulate them and praise Mrs. Wong for her bravery.

The film SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT (FUNG LUM FOR SHAN) starting April 26 has held an exhibit that has attracted more than 10,000 visitors as of yesterday, showing never-before-seen stills and sculptures of the main characters made by renowned Spanish sculptor Eudald de Juana Gorriz.

As the SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT's producer, director, screenwriter and art director, Mak Chun Lung revealed that he already had a heart of fancy when writing the script. He hoped to record his characters in an additional way, which was also a sculptural method rarely used in traditional Chinese films to record art forever. After the exhibition, he would store the sculptures in the warehouse. Perhaps for future exhibition or promotion overseas, he might also ship them there to assist in publicity.

Mak Chun Lung recently returned to Hong Kong from Thailand to complete the sound effects of the film, and he revealed that he would lead the film team to fly to France on the 13th of this month to participate in the "Midnight Screening section" and the world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on the 16th. After 8 years of filming, he said that the film was cut into a version of more than 130 minutes and that Cannes and Hong Kong would have the same version. However Hong Kong has not yet confirmed the release date. For the premiere at Cannes Mak Chun Lung stated that he felt a heavy yet honored feeling, as the music giant Ryuichi Sakamoto, who mainly scored the film, has passed away. He recalled working with him was like a dream. "I was fortunate to meet Ryuichi Sakamoto in 2016. He lived in New York at the time, but I was working on a movie in South Korea so we met in Tokyo. He had a piano in his hotel room, and he played for 6 consecutive hours. He was actually already a little unwell at that time."

As for going to the Cannes Film Festival Mak Chun Lung for now knew that Louis Koo Tin Lok would go with him, but the focus was on Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo). Would he attend the promotion? He said that actually each actor is also very busy. Of course he hoped that every actor would be able to attend, but it is not up to him to decide whether they would be able to appear together. Has he had any contact with Gum Sing Mo? He said that he has kept in touch with all the actors, but whether he would be able to participate in the promotion his management team would determine the schedule. "I believe everyone will be able to get together!"

Kara Wai Ying Hung was awarded the "Outstanding Actress" award at the 20th China Film Huabiao Awards, becoming the first person from Hong Kong to receive this honor. Dr. Albert Yeung Sau Sing, Chairman of Emperor Group, held a celebration banquet for Wai Ying Hung, and even sent out stars such as Michelle Wai Sze Nga, Vincy Chan (Wing Yi), Catherine Chau Ka Yee, Christine Ng Wing Mei, Jeana Ho Pui Yu, etc., and the scene was lively!

During the celebration, Wai Ying Hung and Dr. Yeung launched the "Rose Gift Battle"! Wai Ying Hung first presented red roses to Dr. Yeung. Accustomed to big scenes, he still maintained an embarrassed but polite smile despite being "surprised attacked". Mani Kok asked, "Has the boss ever received red roses?" Dr. Yeung smiled and said, "Oh! No!" Wai Ying Hung then said, "I picked them out myself!" Dr. Yeung was all smiles but he turned out to have made preparations and immediately returned the favor with a bunch of flowers.

Wai Ying Hung got sentimental from this surprise celebration, "Thank you very much to Emperor Entertainment for treating me so well all along, I want to thank my boss and the company even more for supporting me from behind. I feel that I have to live up to the expectation, I can't embarrass Emperor!" She also said that she would not want relaxing jobs just because of her age. She would not waste any opportunity. Dr. Yeung even praised Wai Ying Hung this time was "unprecedented". Next time she might receive the Lifetime Achievement Oscar. He also revealed that when Wai Ying Hung accepted the award, the company had triple the good news that day. "Michelle won Best Actress, Tse Ting Fung completed his four show concert series. I hereby again wish that Sister Hung to win awards nonstop!"

The Andy Lau Tak Wa produced and starred, Herman Yau Lai To written and directed film A GILDED GAME (LIM GUM YAU HEI) revealed the cruel truth in the financial investment market, and even the dark and unspoken rules of the industry. Playing a chief analyst in the film, Lau Tak Wa was betrayed by his apprentice Ou Hao. Wa Jai admitted that drama was like life. In reality he too was betrayed by someone he trusted, which made him more calculating. In the end though he still chose to forgive, which would be happier for him in life and his luck also would be better.

A GILDED GAME's subject was the stock market. Yau Lai To pointed out that the stock market was closely related to everyone, and was also an economic temperature gauge. Even those not buying or selling would be affected. Exceled in action explosion scenes in the past, he made the switch to shoot the stock market "battlefield" this time. He said that he did not make action movies in the early days, and dramatic scenes seemed to be easier to shoot than explosive scenes. However he must also be able to move the audience, and the camera must convey the message. However, this stock market shoot must do enough research, and could not make mistakes in the information. Yau Lai To also made personal investments, and he concluded that he did not lose his hands to get a positive number.

This time Lau Tak Wa played the chief analyst of the investment bank. He said that he was fortunate to have the experience of performing in THE TRADING FLOOR and knew more about stocks, but the last time the dialogue was in English. This time involved the special terminologies of the Hong Kong stock market. He needed to memorize them in advance. "It's much more difficult than making a romance movie, I haven't tried to take notes with such effort. Everyday was like dictation, and it had to sound like daily speech in everyday life. I haven't never spent more time and effort since I entered the industry. Like when I played Kang Xi, I had to memorize a lot of dialogue." Would he rather be a "bomb disposal expert"? Wa Jai smiled and said, "Well no, this time was pretty happy. I used to fight for my life on the front line outside, but this time I returned to the office as a literati, and suddenly I felt that I was Li Bai."

In the film Wa Jai's white hair looked steady, he joked that he just chose it to be stylish. Would he unload the idol burden? He replied with a smile, "I never had it, I don't know why I would come to have one. It's like this even without any baggage!" However Wa Jai said that in the future he would not plan to dye his hair black so that it will be natural and white. "Earlier I even outsmarted myself and said that I didn't dye my hair, but during the epidemic I would think I didn't know what to do, so I started to dye any and all the gray hair. However after more grew I didn't anymore. It would depend on aesthetics and the character requirements. I can't have gray hair every time." As for him playing the role of chief analyst, would he be more shrewd in investment and financial management? Wa Jai did not think so, and still adhered to its concept of "if you are not good at it, don't think about it"; especially now that even buying "bricks" might not necessarily be secure. He would choose the ones that would protect the capital. What has he bought that was safe? Wa Jai joked, "Invest in our movies, that would help you protect your capital! Actually nothing in the world would be truly safe, so be cautious. I have made a certain part of my thing scheduled, so I could give a simple life to my family. With the extras I would risk them all, so even if I lost I wouldn't be hurt. That would be the most ideal."

Speaking of Wa Jai's scene on the rooftop of a high-rise building, Wa Jai said that it relied on computer generated effects and also actual location shoot and all the safety precautions were taken. In the film Wa Jai was betrayed by his apprentice Ou Hao, has he ever been betrayed in reality? Wa Jai admitted that he has. He thought that everyone would also have the experience of being betrayed, but in the world of the betrayer he could not sense it. On the contrary the betrayer would feel that his friend was too stubborn. As a friend he just chose a better result. Although it was not as dramatic as in the film, but betrayal often happened in reality. How easily would he forgive? Wa Jai said frankly: "I choose to forgive. Once I found that I was betrayed, I would be careful in the future. Everyone has known me for so many years. I don't really scheme, but after being betrayed I want to change myself. I started to deal with others for several years, but my life wasn't a happy one. When I chose 'forget it, forget it', I was happy and my luck got better! Usually people who betray you are the ones you trust. If you don't trust them how could they betray you? This is what is even more heart-wrenching. Life is like this!" Lau Tak Wa today has become open-minded, would he continue to work hard to help others? Wa Jai said, "As long as I can, I definitely will!"

Yau Lai To and Wa Jai have worked together seamlessly. The two laughed and chatted about so many subjects that they could not finish filming in 10 years, but one of the feature films everyone loved to shoot. Would Wa Jai switch to be a director? Wa Jai bluntly said that he wanted to be a director for many years, but he has not found a subject he wants to shoot the most. He wanted to shoot a small light- hearted film, but he was afraid that comedy would be difficult to make. He did not want to consider making too heavy a feature film, so the case has not been decided.

courtesy of mingpao.com

Shu Qi, Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi, Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin, Myolie Wu Hung Yi, Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun, Korean heavenly king Rain and other stars last night attended an event in Macau. Not stopping for any interview, Pak Chi dressed for the occasion and later posted photos on her social network. With her birthday last month, Shu Qi pointed out that she was busy and did not hace any special celebration with her husband. When Rain appeared he waved to the crowd and said that he would return to perform in Macau in August.

Injured earlier during a film production, Jeffrey had two large bandages that were rather "eye catching" near the arteries of his neck. He talked about how he got hurt. "That day we were shooting a wake surfing scene. The rope got tangled around my neck, I lost my balance. I fell into the water and got choked for several seconds as the boat kept dragging. A few second later I got loose. I didn't know I was bleeding. The director and the crew was very nervous. When I came back up everyone treated my wound and stopped the bleeding, checked my neck to make sure it was fine. I am still in recovery. After the accident the director gave me time to recover, after that we will make up the water scene. (Did you feel any strangulation? Did you black out?) I was scared. I wasn't until I saw blood. Luckily I didn't need stitches." He also pointed out that the shoot that day was not completed and the reshoot would have to wait until overed. Did he suffer any trauma? He said, "I have yet to be in the water so I don't know yet, but being an actor I have to overcome these situations. After work resumes we would shoot for 3 more days before wrapping up production. (Would you increase your insurance coverage?) Huh? That doesn't seem good luck, from now on I would try to be careful. (Any scar?) I am not afraid of that, one or two are very normal for men. It could be an even bigger one!" Was his girlfriend and manager scared to tears at the moment? He avoided the subject but also pointed out that later he would thank the gods for the blessing.

Carina Lau Ka Ling was asked whether she would present the Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actor from now on? Ka Ling laughed and said that it was Derek Yee Tung Sing's joke, as she pointed out that he could not find anyone so he asked her to present the award. He thought it would be buzz worthy. "I am sorry about constantly joking around with Best Actors, here I want to say to everyone I am sorry! It's the script the event wrote, and I improvised a little on the spot. Thank you (Sean) Lau Ching Wan, (Aaron) Kwok Fu Sing and earlier (Andy) Lau Tak Wa. They coordinated very well and knew it was a show. If I have insulted anyone please do not mind. (Everyone said that it was very exciting!) Because I am old age qualification, haha!" As for her description of Raymond Lam Fung, Ka Ling said that was how the script was written. Ka Ling said that he has not heard of the "original version". Was her husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai the most handsome? She joked yes, but revealed that Wai Jai did not feel that he was handsome. He did not care whether he was handsome or not either. "He would recognize actors and actresses' acting abilities, but he has not talked to me about who is handsome or pretty."

Speaking of presenting the award to Sean Lau Ching Wan, Ka Ling believed that everyone were nominated because they performed well. However she has not watched all the nominated films yet. She also said that she was nominated before. Of course she would like to win, but even if she did not she could keep working hard.

[2025.05.08] LOUIS KOO PROMOTES HONG KONG FILMS IN CANNES

Louis Koo reveals that his eyes needs surgery in phases.

Louis Koo says that a good foundation is hard to find, when sweats melt the make up it would become "rotting chocolate"

courtesy of mingpao.com

Louis Koo Tin Lok (Goo Jai) yesterday put on a nostalgic suit and turned into a film industry tycoon, and attended the opening ceremony for the pop-up concept store of the makeup brand, in line with the nostalgic cinema style of the concept store. He also sent a message to film dream chasers to hold the spirit of not giving up and not forgetting their original intentions, and even hoped that everyone would not give up on Hong Kong movies. The event attracted a large number of fans, and some female fans even managed to get Goo Jai's autograph on the back of her white shirt, which made the audience scream.

As for the concept store, it had many scales from past theaters and hawker stalls outside the door. Considering himself to be from the 80s of the last century, Goo Jai also said that they brought back a lot of memories. He revealed that among his favorites were bringing a whole piece of barbecue pork and sugarcane to the movies. He appealed at the event for everyone not to give up on Hong Kong films, he said, "The global economy is not good, but we must persevere in the face of environmental changes. (Is it very tough?) My personality is that the more difficult it is, the better I have to make it. If I run away from it, I won't make progress." He believed that the film industry should be driven by new visions, breaking through the framework and constantly innovating.

His film VITAL SIGNS (SUNG YUEN TOH JUNG)'s box office currently would exceed HK$ 5 million, saying that the subject of the ambulance and medical personnel has been rarely made. He thanked the audience for the support and the team would continue to attend audience appreciation events at cinemas. He revealed that net week he would follow the SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT (FUNG LUM FOR SHAN) team to attend the Cannes Film Festival "Hong Kong Night" in France, so he would not be able to thank the audience with the VITAL SIGNS team yet.

Would the SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT actors Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo), Sean Lau Ching Wan, Tony Leung Ka Fai and Gao Yuanyaun reunite on this trip? Koo Tin Lok said, "I don't believe so. I don't know who would attend yet. The team would arrange the itinerary." TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING) earlier was the big winner at the 43th Hong Kong Film Awards with 9 awards, but later someone claiming to be "Hong Kong Film Awards voter" said that he received a non blank ballot that had the TWILIGHT team filled in for Best Sound Effect. He questioned the fairness of the vote. Koo Tin Lok said, "I have heard about this, I know that the event is in the midst of getting an understanding."

With his tan Koo Tin Lok revealed finding a suitable foundation was very hard. He remembered that once on location in costumes he was in the sun all day. After work when he removed his costume he had tan lines and needed make up to cover up, hence he was driven to get tanned. "Find a good foundation was very hard before, sweat would turn the make up into 'rotting chocolate'. Luckily I had on set make up artists to fix the make up." He said that he still enjoyed sunbathing, but due to damage to his cornea he had to avoid direct ultraviolet ray. He was waiting to have several surgeries in phases. He also clarified about his health, "The eye issue happened in the past month. I would only avoid the flash bulbs at events. Normal film productions are unaffected. Some reports wrote that I have been suffering from eye illness in recent years, and even speculated that my neck required morphine for the pain. Actually the neck issue was 10 years ago, after the operation I have already recovered."
