The Andy Lau Tak Wa produced and starred, Herman Yau Lai To
written and directed film A GILDED GAME (LIM GUM YAU HEI) revealed the
cruel truth in the financial investment market, and even the dark and
unspoken rules of the industry. Playing a chief analyst in the film,
Lau Tak Wa was betrayed by his apprentice Ou Hao. Wa Jai admitted that
drama was like life. In reality he too was betrayed by someone he
trusted, which made him more calculating. In the end though he still
chose to forgive, which would be happier for him in life and his luck
also would be better.
A GILDED GAME's subject was the stock market. Yau Lai To
pointed out that the stock market was closely related to everyone, and
was also an economic temperature gauge. Even those not buying or
selling would be affected. Exceled in action explosion scenes in the
past, he made the switch to shoot the stock market "battlefield" this
time. He said that he did not make action movies in the early days,
and dramatic scenes seemed to be easier to shoot than explosive scenes.
However he must also be able to move the audience, and the camera must

also actual location shoot and all the safety precautions were taken.
In the film Wa Jai was betrayed by his apprentice Ou Hao, has he ever
been betrayed in reality? Wa Jai admitted that he has. He thought
that everyone would also have the experience of being betrayed, but in
the world of the betrayer he could not sense it. On the contrary the
betrayer would feel that his friend was too stubborn. As a friend he
just chose a better result. Although it was not as dramatic as in the
film, but betrayal often happened in reality. How easily would he
forgive? Wa Jai said frankly: "I choose to forgive. Once I found that
I was betrayed, I would be careful in the future. Everyone has known me
for so many years. I don't really scheme, but after being betrayed I
want to change myself. I started to deal with others for several years,
but my life wasn't a happy one. When I chose 'forget it, forget it', I
was happy and my luck got better! Usually people who betray you are the
ones you trust. If you don't trust them how could they betray you?
This is what is even more heart-wrenching. Life is like this!" Lau Tak
Wa today has become open-minded, would he continue to work hard to help
others? Wa Jai said, "As long as I can, I definitely will!"
Yau Lai To and Wa Jai have worked together seamlessly. The two
laughed and chatted about so many subjects that they could not finish
filming in 10 years, but one of the feature films everyone loved to
shoot. Would Wa Jai switch to be a director? Wa Jai bluntly said that
he wanted to be a director for many years, but he has not found a
subject he wants to shoot the most. He wanted to shoot a small light-
hearted film, but he was afraid that comedy would be difficult to make.
He did not want to consider making too heavy a feature film, so the case
