The almost HK$200 million Emperor film THE VIRAL FACTOR (YIK JIN) shot in Jordan and Malaysia. For Nicholas Tse Ting Fung who went to Jordan for the first time, this was an all new place. He was very excited to step foot on this mysterious place. Although it was not Jay Chou (Chow Kit Lun)'s first time in Jordan, floating on the sea was a break through.
In one scene they floated on the Dead Sea. Due to the Dead Sea's high salt content, people float more than in the average sea water. They did not need much effort to float on the surface. Ting Fung said, "Jordan was like someone with a mask, with different looks in front of and behind the mask!" Chairman Chou stated, "The Dead Sea truly is a wonderful place, a different sea without end. It was quite a pleasure to shoot here because aside from the mysterious cities and towns it also had intoxicating scenery that made people forget their troubles." He even quietly told workers a childhood secret. He was never fond of water since he was little, when he was two or three he was thrown into a pond, luckily an older kid nearby saved him.
However Chairman Chou did not become a dry duck due to his fear of water. Mama Chou insisted that he participated in the children swimming training camp in elementary school. He even successfully passed many tests and completed his training. Although they enjoyed shooting this scene on the Dead Sea, because they soaked in the water for over four hours their skin had minor reaction.
