[2023.10.11] DAFFY TONG MEETS LESLIE CHEUNG FANS AT THE LESLIE CHEUNG EXHIBITION CLOSING

To remember the 20th anniversary of the passing of the superstar of a generation Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing (Gor Gor), the MISS YOU MUCH LESLIE EXHIBITION that began on March 29th at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum completed its half year run two nights ago on the 9th under the witness of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department deputy director (culture) Ms. Eve Tam Mei Yee, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum director Mr. Brian Lam Kwok Fai, one of the exhibition planner Florence Chan Suk Fun (Mrs. Chan) and Mr. Daffy Tong Hok Tak. Over 370,716 locals and visitors have visited the exhibition.

Two days ago many locals and tourists alike, including Sam Hui Koon Kit's wife, braved the storm to take the last opportunity to visit the Hong Kong Heritage Museum exhibit. Mrs. Chan said that she was very touched to see that 20 years after Gor Gor's passing, still so many "Gor" fans missed him. One of the goals of this exhibit was her hope to bring "Gor" fans together, and for everyone through the items and videos on exhibit to relive Gor Gor's glory. She continued, "Because he saw how much everyone love and miss 'Gor Gor', Mr. Tong Hok Tak would personally visit the Hong Kong Heritage Museum to meet with Gor fans." When Mr. Tong arrived at the entrance, visitors immediately broke into cheers. Later he in the company of Mrs. Chan visited all of the exhibits. He even complied with "Gor" fans' requests for photos and autographs, then he even thanked everyone's love for Gor Gor and wish everyone good health. "Gor" fans also returned the blessing to him and joked that he would have to find an even larger venue for the next Leslie Cheung memorial exhibit. At the moment when the museum closed, Mrs. Chan and Mr. Tong as well as the "Gor" fans were reluctant to leave.

Mrs. Chan was very grateful to Mr. Tong for loaning several Cheung Kwok Wing collectibles for this exhibit; at the same time she also thanked two guest planners Mr. William Chang Suk Ping and Mr. Wing Shya, two art masters who elevated the aesthetic level of the memorial exhibit and left every visitor with nothing but praise. Mrs. Chan said that MISS YOU MUCH LESLIE EXHIBITION has already come to an end, but the love Gor Gor left everyone remained and has never been far away. Like the earlier fan project that would continue to deliver hot meals to families in need, Gor Gor's forever love would continue and pass on "Gor Gor"'s spirit of truth, kindness and beauty.
