In Gordon Lam Ka Tung and Da Peng starred crime film DUST TO DUST (DAI BAK GOR YIM YI YUN) production video, Da Peng revealed that he gained and then lost weight for the role. "The character in 1995 was a boss, very arrogant and bold. I deliberately gained weight so the character would be a little rounder. By the middle age he was on the lam, so I rapidly lose 30 kilograms." His character came from Qingyuan, so he had the challenge of Cantonese dialogue. Ka Tung expressed his admiration. "The director asked Da Peng to speak Cantonese and me to speak Putonghua. They really are great challenges. Seeing Da Peng having to gain and then lose weight, I believe as an actor we probably would enjoy that type of contribution and focus."
