Tony Wong Yuk Long's classic domestic comic book DRAGON TIGER GATE will celebrate its 50th anniversary in publishing. Watch company founder William Shum Wai Lam invited Wong Yuk Long to work together on the release of a "Tiger Might Tourbillon Wrist Watch" with protagonist Tiger Wong as the blue print. Yesterday a press conference was held at the Animation Comic Game Hong Kong event at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. Wong Yau Nam also showed his support.

Wong Yuk Long and Shum Wai Lam have known each other for some time. Years ago Wong Yuk Long was already invited to collaboration, but he kept waiting for a good opportunity. The 50th anniversary of DRAGON's publishing was the most worthy of the commemoration, thus they conceived the most explosive work. Shum Wai Lam said that he has always been waiting for the opportunity to work together. This plan took over 1 year. He would hope to have an opportunity to release watches of other DRAGON TIGER GATE characters.

Currently Wong Yuk Long is planning to release DRAGON TIGER GATE television and film products that with mainly Hong Kong investors. Productions will begin next year and he already had some ideas about casting. Some possibly might be the previous DRAGON film's actors. No decision has been made. Would he ask Shum Wai Lam to guest star? Shum said, "I don't have the talent, I am better off sticking with making watches." Wong Yuk Lam suggested for him to play a playboy character, as only the opposite of reality would be challenging.

Linda Wong Hing Ping's father, martial art superstar Jimmy Wang Yu and Golden Horse director Wang Tung would receive the 56th Golden Horse Award Lifetime Achievement Awards. Wang Yu was a top star of the 60's new style wuxia films, with representative films like ONE ARMED SWORDSMAN, GOLDEN SWALLOW, RETURN OF THE ONE ARMED SWORDSMAN. Golden Horse executive council chair Ang Lee had nothing but praise for his achievements. "Wang Yu not only solidified the wuxia superstar standard but also a trailblazer in hand to hand combat action film." Wang Tung has won 6 Golden Horse Awards. He humbly said that he was still studying film and was very thankful.

The new film LINE WALKER 2 (SI TOH HUNG JEH 2 DIP YING HUNG DONG) yesterday announced two more production specials. Best Actors Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Louis Koo Tin Lok and Francis Ng Chun Yu revealed their brotherhood in the film. Director Jazz Boon (Man Wai Hung)'s attentive set up filled the brotherhood with conflicts and suspicions at every step. Man Wai Hung continued the relationship word of LINE WALKER and fully displayed the undercover relationship, hard to tell between good and evil "LINE WALKER Spirit". In the production special, Best Actors Cheung Ka Fai, Koo Tin Lok, Ng Chun Yu had different identities, at times they were brothers and at times they suspected each other to demonstrate the dark side of humanity. Man Wai Hung admired the three Best Actors for taking their characters to their fullest. Their performance kept everyone intrigued and set chills down everyone's spine. The special relationship between Cheung Ka Fai and Koo Tin Lok showed the sacrificial spirit of the "LINE WALKER Spirit" when faced with life and death choices.

After two years of planning, the film BODIES AT REST (CHUM MUK DIK JING YUN) will officially open this summer. Lately many posters have been released. The posters were shot after the production wrapped up, but Ka Fai and Siu Chai seemed to still be in character. In a doctor robe and surgical gloves, Ka Fai looked mild mannered with gold rimmed glasses. Even with surgical scissors and clamps in hand he still had a gentle look in his eyes; playing a robber Siu Chai wore a Santa Claus mask but his vicious eyes pierced through it and sent chills down the spine. During their photo together Siu Chai grabbed Ka Fai's robe by the collar and looked mean. Ka Fai was unarmed but had a look full of hate, which made people curious about what happened while being trapped in this morgue for 5 hours.

Ka Fai stated that this film tested his acting, because he "fought too well" but had to hide his capability for the role. It was very difficult. He said, "In the film I played a mild mannered forensic scientist who didn't know how to fight. By logic he would take a beating and not know how to fight back, but during the shoot my UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN) abilities unknowingly came out as an unconscious and natural reaction. At first I didn't realize. After a round when director Renny Harlin watched the playback he discovered it. He said that I had to hide it well and couldn't let the audience realize that I had some training." Siu Chai said, "In the film I had professional training, a great fighter, but Ka Fai was mild mannered and would only fight like a thug. In other words he would only react and block, dodge or throw things like glass bottles, fire extinguisher based on his instinct. Ka Fai was very attentive and very experienced. He knew from which angle to strike to avoid really getting 'busted open'. On the other hand, because his character didn't know how to fight he had to take a beating instead. Although we took all the safety precaution, anyone who saw him would feel his pain."

Ka Fai and Siu Chai 14 years ago made BREAKING NEWS (DAI SI GEIN) together. This time BODIES AT REST's director DIE HARD 2's director Renny Harlin. Siu Chai said, "This time felt pretty special. The director drew the storyboard before hand, every shot was divided in great detail, so was every emotion and action." Ka Fai said, "As actors we of course want to try everything. This time had a foreign director, foreign ideas in a Hong Kong film, which felt very refreshing!"

Aside from all the fighting, the film also had a lot of emotional scenes. Although Ka Fai and Siu Fai in the film were on opposite sides, from another angle Siu Chai's character went on the road of no return for his family. He said, "My character has a lot of dimensions. I wasn't a natural born bad person. I want to give my family a good life and turn bad. From Ka Fai's standpoint I of course am the bad guy, I use a lot of ways to hurt people around him. Maybe I use the weakness in his soul to force him to the brink and make him submit. This scene is very memorable for me, Ka Fai's expression change is handled with a lot of details." Ka Fai humbly said, "I was only following your performance!" Siu Chai asked Ka Fai, "Actually you are very attentive, you are a good director. When will you direct again and make a movie with me? I will give it my all!"

[2019.07.25] BLINDFOLDED KIMBEE CHAN SHOWS SUPPORT FOR GUIDE DOGS

The Hong Kong Guide Dog Association has always worked hard to provide free guide dog pairing to the vision impaired and has fully assisted with the production of the Hong Kong version guide dog film LITTLE Q (SIU Q), which will open on August 15th. Boss Alex Wong Hoi Fung and director Law Wing Cheong understood the operation difficulties of the Hong Kong Guide Dog Association and began a complete project to raise fund for it, including the fb+ig event that started on July 11th.

To show her support, Joseph Lau Lueng Hung Charitable Foundation founder Kimbee Chan Hoi Wan became one of the event's launchers and she led an online photo campaign with pets. The foundation in the end also generously donated HK$ 100,000 to the Hong Kong Guide Dog Association.

Kimbee for this event earlier even accepted a physical challenge of being blindfolded and walking around the Windsor House shopping center with a guide dog. With the assistance of Hong Kong Guide Dog Association trainers, Kimbee first learned some guide dog commands, gestures and basic communication orders. After half a hour of training, Kimbee and Ringo established a bond. When the trainer said to put on the blindfold, Kimbee's first step was a little cautious. Yet when Ringo rapidly completed Kimbee's first order, Kimbee and Ringo went smoother and smoother. Kimbee said, "With the blindfold I really couldn't see at all. I feel the guide dog is very special and very smart, it would give me a lot of confidence." After completing the experience, she stated that she would like to work with the Hong Kong Guide Dog Association again. Currently Hong Kong only has around 40 guide dogs for its 180,000 vision impaired people. Thus she hoped through different collaborations to be able to help those in need as well as enable the public to understand and accept guide dogs even more.

The 64 year old Simon Yam Tat Wa last Saturday while attending an event in Zhongshan was attacked, stabbed in the abdomen and suffered severe injuries on four fingers on his right hand. He was immediately rushed to the local hospital for surgery. Later he returned overnight to Hong Kong Adventist Hospital for further treatment and a second surgery. Everything went smoothly. Brother Wa stayed at the hospital for four days, his recovery has been ideal. Yesterday afternoon he was released and able to return home to return. He appeared to be in good spirit and revealed that his hand injuries would require some time to heal. He hoped to return to work on films as soon as possible, as he even stated that he could "tough it out"!

Brother Wa after many years of treatment at the hospital yesterday left the hospital at 1PM with manager Mani Fok Man Hei. In blue athletic wear and cap, Brother Wa looked well. His right hand was bandaged and in a protective sling. Yet from his white tee the bandage on his abdomen could be seen Brother Wa stood still for media photos, raised his thumb and waved. He moved about at will, and the appearance lasted around 8 minutes before he left.

Mani communicated with the media before Brother Wa appeared. She said that Brother Wa would come out and speak for two minutes, but no questions. After that she asked everyone to let Brother Wa take his time to get into the vehicle and not to chase him. Since she was afraid that any harm would come to him, she asked everyone for their cooperation.

Then Brother Wa came out for photos. The hospital representative presented flowers to him. He was friendly and gave interviews in Cantonese and Putonghua. He kept saying "thank you" but did not mention how he got hurt. He said, "Thank you all, thank you to so many friends for their concern over the past few days. Thank you to all of you. With this incident, although I was hurt I still am very grateful to the Zhongshan hospital. Thank you very much to the Hong Kong medical staff, thank you very much to Emperor for their attentive arrangements. After the incident occurred, the Zhongshan medical staff was very helpful and did many different tests. After coming back here, the Hong Kong medical staff immediately examined me once more and did another physical exam so I was able to be all stable; thank you everyone for your concern, thank you Mr. Yeung, the most important is thank you everyone for your care. Now my hand needs a little time to recover. I hope to be able to recover soon and continue to make movies, because I really like to make movies."

Brother Wa then thanked everyone again in Putonghua. "Thank you for your efforts over the past few days, special thanks to Mainland Zhongshan. After the incident occurred, they immediately arranged for me to have surgery. Thank you for taking care of me and very smoothly complete everything. From the Mainland to Hong Kong (hospital), to today, about five days have passed. The operation progressed rather well, as I am able to slowly recover. Now my hand still needs some time because nerves need time to heal. I hope to be able to return and make movies soon. Thank you everyone for your concern for me, especially to my family and my daughter."

Brother Wa's wife Qi Qi did not accompany her husband on his release. She actually began earlier and then returned home to wait for Brother Wa. Later she even expressed how she felt and said thank you for the past few days. "The past few days to us were unusually long and tough, fortunately the optimistic and positive Brother Wa gave us confidence and energy. Today Brother Wa is released from the hospital, we are back home......thank you to all the medical staff for the attentive care, thank you to family and friends for the support and the encouragement, thank you Boss Yeung and all the workers, and thank you friends of the media. It has been tough on you all. We will continue to coordinate with the therapy, and believe that Brother Wa will be able to come back and see everyone very soon. [2019.07.25] FILM DIRECTORS AND SCREENWRITERS URGE THE EXTRADITION BILL WITHDRAWAL

Earlier some online were upset at TVB news' handling of the Extradition Bill storm and started a "star chasing movement" against TVB artists at event. When TVB news went to cover stories they were also hindered. Their news vehicle windows were broken. CEO Lee Bo On issued a notice to employed artists and stressed that the News department remained neutral in its reporting.

Recently many suspected TVB 2019 and 202 employee identification appeared online with notes like "TVB inaccurate reporting". TVB responded, "Without any name how do we respond?"

On the other hand, the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild, the Hong Kong Screenwriters' Association yesterday issued a statement about the violent attack at the Yuen Long light rail station and the victims not receiving any police assistance in a timely fashion. Both associations expressed extreme anger and listed demands of "stop white terror, establish an independent investigation committee immediately, clearly withdraw of the extradition bill".

"This organization urges the Special Administrative Region government to immediately establish an independent investigation for the truth of various disputes over the past months, to return justice for all and settle public rage. This organization also urges the Chief Executive to immediately according to the Legislative Council meeting rules to use the word withdraw to terminate the bill and end all dispute over wording. Political problems should be politically resolve. This organization looks forward to the Chief Executive, the SAR government and the Hong Kong Police to get back on track of servicing the citizens."
