Louis Vuitton 2024 early fall men's line fashion show
took place last night on the Avenue of the Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui,
with 80 Chinese and foreign celebrities modeling the latest fashion
on the catwalk.
Last night the attendees included Chow Yun Fat and his wife
Jasmine Tan, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Hins Cheung King
Hin, Terence Lam Ka Him, Tyson Yoshi, Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun, MIRROR
members Anson Lo Hon Ting, Edan Lui Cheuk On and Ian Chan Cheuk Yin.
One of the guests Nicholas Tse Ting Fung was absent due to illness.
Chow Yun Fat and his wife Jasmine Tan dressed as a couple in
white to watch the show. Fat Gor said that he was fortunate enough to
have invited a master to be responsible for their image. Reporters
also commended Fat Gor for being like Prince Charming. Fat Gor
joked, "Even Uncle Lai (POLICE CADET character name) bought it, not to
mention Prince Charming." Last night many international film stars
were in attendance. Has any artist asked him for photos? Fat Gor
said no, instead he wanted to get photos with them because all of his
idols were present. However for now he only got one with Fat Soh.
With Christmas on the way, Fat Gor said that this year he
would not go on vacation because it would be very close to his wife's
birthday. Fat Gor pointed out that because lately he has been busy
with his running training in preparation for the marathon, he has not
paid attention to the Golden Horse Awards. He also said, "I feel my
last marathon performance wasn't the best, later I would have to handle
next year's Standard Charters Marathon. I would have to train more, I
hope the more I run the further I go. (When would you challenge a
full marathon?) Wait until I am 80." Last time Fat Gor raced, many
runners on the way asked him for photos. Has his performance been
affected by that? He said, "No, I ran very slowly. (Next time would
you ask Fat Soh to run with you?) No, Fat Soh would stay home and
wait until I finished running to take care of me at home."
Koo Tin Lok said that this Christmas he would not have to
work and would spend time with his family, but not necessarily going on
vacation. "Because the family doesn't like the traditional Christmas
feast, they feel turkey met is very 'dry', burnt and doesn't taste
good." Speaking of the film he invested in, IN BROAD DAYLIGHT (BAK
YUT JI HA)'s ideal box office performance, Goo Jai said that when he
would have time he would attend the audience appreciation events with
the actors as a show of support for the film team. Goo Jai stated
that the box office success absolutely was very encouraging, as he
felt new directors and new actors would be able to bring even more to
Hong Kong films. He also revealed that he had a new subject like IN,
however it would not just talk about current social events but a social
phenomenon. The script was still under preparation, so he has yet to
decide whether he would perform or not.

Dante Lam is not worried about the category III rating would affect the box office, and Isabella Leong does not mind becoming a category III film star courtesy of mingpao.com
The film BURSTING POINT (BAU LIT DIM) two nights ago
held its premiere. Nick Cheung Ka Fai, William Chan Wai Ting, Shaun
Tam Chun Yin, Isabella Leong Lok Si, Chrissie Chau Sau Na, producer
Dante Lam Chiu Yin, director Calvin Tong Wai Hon and Emperor Group
chief Albert Yeung Sau Sing and his wife attended. The actors shared
their production experience on the stage. The event even arranged for
a cake for the actors to the birthday song and celebrate Cheung Ka
Fai's 59th birthday on the 2nd next month. Ka Fai immediately made a
wish and cut he cake. "I wish BURSTING POINT would take flight and be
a box office hit." BURSTING POINT received a category III rating. Ka
Fai was not afraid that would reduce the box office; Chan Wai Ting
has waited over a decade to work with Lam Chiu Yin.
The actors shared their experience on the stage. Cheung Ka
Fai said that this time he played a good guy, but being the good guy
would be hard because that had many restrictions -- unlike playing a
villain when he could do whatever he wanted. He said, "Earlier while
making UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN) I broke my pinky, leaving me to think of
Lam Chiu Yin every time I was unable to 'mine' (pick his nose)
cleanly. However when I look at all the awards in the display case at
home, I too would think of him." Lam Chiu Yin stated that last time
when they made UNBEATABLE he made Ka Fai break his finger. This time
in BURSTING POINT he made his break his leg. "However he always tells
me to act for him, half of your awards are mine!" Ka Fai joked, "Then
we should see which of us pass first, if you would go first, I would
take half a awards and bury them with you!"
Chan Wai Ting remembered attending the BEAST STALKER (JING YUN)
and the STOOL PIGEON (JING YUN) premieres. He saw boss Albert Yeung
Sau Sing led Ka Fai and Ting Fung to the appearance. After watching
the film he has never forgotten them. He really wanted to receive
this opportunity. "Then this time Director Lam actually saw me. I
thank the director very much for taking a glance at me. Life doesn't
have many opportunities to be seen by people. I have waited for over
a decade."
Ka Fai revealed that he only found out about BURSTING POINT's
category III rating two days ago. "This time would be the first
category III film in my career, but I can accept that." Ka Fai and
William made the jump to become category III film actors for the first
time. They were not worried that the rating would lose young viewers
and the box office would be affected. Instead they felt that not
making a single cut at all helped making the film more attractive,
which was another selling point.
Producer Lam Chiu Yin also joked that this time the film
"burst" to category III, actually during the shoot he already expected
it. The boss also gave him free rein, so he would not make any edit
to turn the film category II. In addition in the past his films NAKED
AMBITION (HO CHING) and OPERATION RED SEA were both rated category III.
He considered himself a habitual category III film director, so he would
not worry about the box office effects. Instead he would get his all
to the production.
Leong Lok Si said that in the film she had her share of fight
scenes, but she did not get her fill. She even instantly wanted Lam
Chiu Yin to give her and Ka Fai more scenes together next time. Chau
Sau Na also raised her hand as she wanted fight scenes next time too.
She and Leong Lok Si did not mind following the team to go to cinemas
for audience appreciation events, even 100 shows would be no problem.
Leong Lok Si said that Mommy could take care of her three sons, and
the children would not whine. "They are now already big kids, we
get along like buddies." She also said that her sons all wanted to
watch her new film, but with the category III rating they would not be
admitted.
Ka Fai and William also said that he would put an effort into
running between cinemas in Hong Kong and the mainland for audience
appreciation shows. Ka Fai said, "I estimate that running to 100
shows would take awhile, I have a running life, of course I hope to
divide up the troops into two routes so it wouldn't be so tough.
However the film company probably wants the two of us to go together."
Would he not be able to spend Christmas with his family? Ka Fai said,
"It doesn't matter to me, when she (wife Esther Kwan Wing Ho) married
me I was acting too." However he did not want to let his wife and
daughter to go on vacation, ultimately he would like the whole family
to go. Speaking of Ka Fai's "big brother" Jacky Cheung Hok You would
perform concerts soon, Ka Fai said that business has been keeping him
busy. If he would have the time he definitely would show his support.
As for Twins would also perform their concerts in January next
year, would William attend to support his old flame Charlene Choi
Cheuk Yin? He frowned and said, "You really like to ask questions
like these, sigh......" Ka Fai immediately spoke up for him, "He
would come to my home for karaoke." William then added, "I wish big
success for their concerts, I learned from the news that the response
has been great. Many people couldn't get tickets."
Ka Fai also joked that for Christmas he wanted to go skiing
in Japan with William. William stated that he was an avid skier,
almost every winter he would take time off to go skiing. Did he
celebrate his recent birthday with his girlfriend? He said, "What
girlfriend? I did a live stream on my birthday!" He has been rumored
to have a foreign girlfriend and He Sui? He asked not to make him
sound like such a player. Ka Fai said that he was not sure whether
William was single. "Speaking of He Sui I have heard, but
we haven't talked about her. It's his private life, youth is wasted
if you don't play the field." William stated, "I don't play the
field!" Ka Fai joked that he was very lame, when he was young he
did not play enough. However more life experience was a good thing
as well. William said, "I am grown, growing slowly for everyone to
see. I am a big boy, Mommy hasn't rushed me to get married yet."

The film TIME STILL TURNS THE PAGES (NIN SIU YUT GEI)
won the Golden Horse Awards "audience's choice Best Film" and "Best
New Director". Director Nick Cheuk Yik Him, producer Derek Yee Tung
Sing and two of the film's actors Siuyea Lo Chun Yp and Sean Wong Tsz
Lok two nights ago spoke about their award winning experience. Yee
Tung Sing said that with movies he has produced, Cheuk Yik Him was the
third to win the Best New Director award. He stated that 5 would be
his goal. As for the Hong Kong Film Awards odds, he said that this
year 46 films would compete. TIME was released at the end of the
year and had an advantage timing wise.
Two nights ago Cheuk Yik Him along with the film's producer
Yee Tung Sing, actors Lo Chun Yip and Wong Tsz Lok met the media.
Cheuk Yik Him savored the awards as he held them, admitting that they
were surprises. "This film's subject is very heavy and would scare
away viewers, thus receiving the awards and being recognized are very
surprising. I personally am rather pessimistic, a willing participant.
I studied film, to be able to gather with a group of filmmakers,
interact and get along with each other I am already very happy."
Cheuk Yik Him's father is Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration
Cheuk Wing-hing, his identity as the "official's offspring" has caught
attention. He said that he has not felt any pressure from it, after
winning the award Papa was proud of him and praised him for being a
good boy.
Cheuk Yik Him two nights ago with producer Yee Tung Sing,
actors Lo Chun Yip and Wong Tsz Lok met the media. Speaking of the
Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration Cheuk Wing-hing response to
his relationship with him, "As parents, I am very happy that my son
has a job he likes. I hope he would continue to work hard and live
out his own sky."
Would Cheuk Yik Him feel any pressure from being revealed as a
high ranking official's son? He said no pressure. He revealed that
Father has always supported his filmmaking. His father has watched
TIME STILL TURNS THE PAGES and also congratulated him on the award.
"My parents are very traditional, their blessing lacks creativity.
They just say proud of you, good boy." As for the Ronald Cheng Chung
Kei played strict father in TIME STILL TURNS THE PAGES, did the
character have any shade of Papa? Cheuk Yik Him said, "He isn't as
strict, I just collected the data to define the strict father role."
Cheuk Yik Him at the Golden Horse Awards revealed that while
making TIME STILL TURNS THE PAGES he had depression. He explained,
"While writing the script I was very depressed. During the shoot I
saw the actors and the crew, with more people I was much better."
Cheuk Yik Him publicly thanked his girlfriend when he accepted the
award, saying that her love and beautiful soul brought him out of the
darkness. His girlfriend was moved to tears in the audience.
After winning the award, he said that he wanted to propose to
his girlfriend. Cheuk Yik Him revealed that he has not officially
propose yet, but he was planning to. Would he celebrate winning the
award? He said that he just returned to Hong Kong two days ago, he
has not celebrated yet. As soon as he returned to Hong Kong he had
rice noodles to treat himself.
Yee Tung Sing was happy for Cheuk Yik Him for winning the Best
New Director with his feature film. "With me as the producer for new
director, Cheuk Yik Him is the third to win the New Director Award.
When I reach this age, helping young people as the producer has quite a
sense of satisfaction. I use what I have learned and experienced, not
to say passing them on, helping them resolve problems is pretty
good. So my goal is 5 new directors. (So few?) It's very time
consuming. (Would you start a class and accept students?) Once
someone asked me to lecture, but I am not an academic. I don't have
a teaching system, I don't know how to teach. When I see it in
person then I know how to do it."
The film got them the first taste at the Golden Horse Awards,
would that increase their confidence of winning at the Hong Kong Film
Awards next year? Yee Tung Sing revealed that for now 46 films have
applied, 33 more than last year. TIME STILL TURNS THE PAGES would be
released at the end of the year and won an award, indeed it would have
an edge. How would they celebrate? He said that they would not make a
big deal, but he would treat the staff. He also said that movies he
produced recently TIME STILL TURNS THE PAGES and IN BROAD DAYLIGHT (BAK
YUT JI HA) both have very heavy subjects. The goal was hopefully
through the film the general public would pay attention. Even if they
could not change the world, at least they made more people care. This
was their original intent.

William Chan gets tossed around and choked
William Chan says that after this fight scene he has mud everything and could not wash all of it off
Nick Cheung remembers to tag William Chan while promoting their new film courtesy of on.cc
William Chan Wai Ting in the Emperor Motion Picture
BURSTING POINT (BAU LIT DIM) in many fight scenes became the "human
punching bag", frequently taking beatings and got all scarred and
bruised. His normal handsome image suddenly became nonexistent, as he
could match his level of risks with his good brother Nicholas Tse Ting
Fung! He also obviously threw himself into the fights like his co-star
Nick Cheung in UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN).
William has been in the business for many years, and has
always given him all into his acting. Highly popular in the mainland,
he this time would rather turn down hundred million yuan mainland jobs
to return to Hong Kong for the film. He hoped to make a name for
himself in his birthplace. His film BURSTING would open on the 8th
next month. Playing undercover in the film, he was able to work with
his idol Nick Cheung Ka Fai. Of course he was excited. During the
shoot he put an effort into his performance, gave up using stunt
doubles and personally performed a fall from above. He also got
numerous beatings and got tossed around, the scenes were bloody and
gory. The film would be released with a category III rating.
The director arranged for William and Philip Keung Ho Man to
battle in the mud. In one scene Hak Jai forced his head into the mud
to try to suffocate him. Their clothing and even appearances were
all covered up by the invading muddy water. Speaking of the production
process, William revealed, "The team used two cameras for the above
and below angles. One of them was actually in he mud to capture the
visual in order to get the most realistic feeling. Although I got
mud all over and cleaning was very hard afterward, the most important
is the result is good. Actually the shoot was a lot of fun!"
William said that in comparison to his past fight scenes, the
biggest difference this time was becoming a "human punching bag"!
Aside from almost being choked to death at the hands of Julius Brian
Siswojo (Lee Hoi Yin), he also had to interpret being threatened into
the corner with multiple layers of pain and suffering physically and
spiritually. The final life and death battle at the end of the film
was cruel, as he was arranged to face a famous Malaysian MMA expert
and got busted open. Reportedly, this scene was shot on location in
a cavern. Without enough air circulation and the actors "fighting in
water" during the shoot for several days, William stated that this
memory would be unforgettable. He said, "He has only made one or two
movies, doesn't really know how to hold back. So he really took a
swing, every punch hit me very hard! (In that scenes the look in your
eyes could kill.) It was a very natural response. As soon as I took
my mark I automatically knew what to do, but at the time I just
recovered from illness. I was actually very tired for real." Fan
commended him on how fit he was in the film, William humbly said,
"Actually the director wanted me to be thinner, so I quit
carbohydrates and got myself so thin. Being undercover really isn't
good for your appetite!"
Nick Cheung Ka Fai has always liked to lend a hand to the
younger generation. Working with Chan Wai Ting this time, he of
course did his part to assist. Earlier Cheung Ka Fai posted their
film BURSTING POINT's poster on social media. "With just one look you
know it's hardcore, can you take it?" He tag William. In the poster,
William held a burning bottle with a fierce look in his eyes. Next to
him Ka Fai maintained his usual tough guy look.
As for another Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actor Nicholas Tse
Ting Fung, he would work with William on the film MO HAN YUM MO
(INFINITE MISSION). Earlier on William's birthday, Ting Fung even
drove over to visit the set.
Chu Pak Hong, Hedwig Tam, Renci Yeung, Kaki Sham at the READY O/R ROT premiere courtesy of mingpao.com
The film READY O/R ROT (BUT YUT SING FUN 2) two nights
ago held a premiere. Emperor Group chief Albert Yeung Sau Sing and
his wife, actors Carlos Chan Ka Lok, Michelle Wai Sze Nga, Elaine Jin
(Kam Yin Ling), Chu Pak Hong, Kaki Sham, Renci Yeung Sze Wing, Hedwig
Tam Sin Yin, Susan Shaw Yam Yam, Kenny Kwan Chi Bun and Catherine Chau
Ka Yi attended. Ka Lok looked rather stylish in a long black coat. He
pointed out that his wife Shiga Lin helped him coordinate. He even
picked up a guitar and performed the film theme song with Chu Pak Hong
and Kaki Sham to warm up the event and received everyone's applause.
Ka Lok pointed out that at home the mother in law and the daughter in
law were on the same side so they had no dispute, as he and Shiga
actively tried for a baby.
Ka Lok said that he has been attending audience appreciation
shows for several days in a row. Viewers after watching the film asked
him about real life in law relationship issues. He said that his wife
Shiga had a very close relationship with her mother in law. "My wife
and Ma would always chat on the phone and talk behind my back. They
have already formed an alliance against me. I of course wouldn't be
'without thunder' like that jerk in the film, but seeing how good
their relationship has been, I would continue to create the jerk
character."
Once at the READY O/R KNOT premiere, Sze Nga's niece revealed
Ka Lok and Shiga's relationship. Two nights ago her niece was also
present. Sze Nga asked her niece whether she had any more secrets to
expose? Ka Lok nervously drove the child away first, then was asked
whether he was afraid that she would reveal Shiga was with child? He
turned red and denied that, "No, even if we are pregnant she wouldn't
know. Shiga and I are very naturally trying, nothing deliberate, no
protection, if we are we would be happy, if not then we would leave it
to nature."
Ka Lok pointed out that because of the pandemic, he and Shiga
were trapped at home and got to know each other's real faces. "So
when I proposed I also used the dialogue from the movie. In the film
Wai Sze Nga and I were trapped inside together for several years during
the pandemic, but we haven't chop each other to death. Because this
dialogue was too ingrained into the mind, during the proposal I
accidentally delivered the line. When my wife would come to watch
later, I have already made preparations. When you go to see the
movie you would know which line. I hope I would be fine!" Sze Nga
who took part in planning the proposal joked that before Shiga cried,
as soon as Ka Lok got into the door he was already moved to tears. Ka
Lok joked, "In this business I have seen everything, I only haven't
seen a marriage proposal!"
Ka Lok immediately struck back and asked about Sze Nga's love
life. She said that actually she had many suitors and even revealed
that earlier while on a date with a guy Ka Lok who once lived in the
same housing estate caught them. "Very often I would have just met a
guy, at the first dinner date we would run into Chan Ka Lok. It has
happened at least two or three times." Ka Lok joked, "You intended to
dodge me, but destiny wanted me to see!"
Sze Nga also believed in destiny. At first when Ka Lok and
Shiga dated, she too has run into them. However whenever Ka Lok met
the guys Sze Nga dated, he would be happy for her each time. Because
she was too strong and too career minded, very few guys would approach
her. "Each time I would smile from the heart, but each time she would
be smiling very awkwardly."
Sze Nga stressed that lately the guys she has been dating were
industry outsiders. If something happened, she would tell everyone
before she would even tell her parents. Ka Lok joked, "I would
definitely be the first to know, everyone can ask me to respond then;
but she has great eyes, all the guys she goes out with a good guys."
Yeung Sze Wing and Tam Sin Yin have already worked together
four times and also become good friends. In the past Tam Sin Yin even
went on vacation to Taiwan with Yeung Sze Wing. Yeung Sze Wing pointed
out that at the time she was a little lost due to a company and not
over relationship issue.
Tam Sin Yin smiled and pointed out that she was single and
she would not have the opportunity to talk about relationships even if
she wanted to. In addition she hid herself and rarely communicate
with others. Yeung Sze Wing joked that she wanted to introduce guys,
she would have to chop open this iceberg of hers. However that would
be difficult because she was a big guy and also wanted fiery passion
to melt away this iceberg. Wu Tsz Tung would be a suitable choice,
but Tam Sin Yin spoke up and declined. She said that she and Tsz Tung
have known each other for years and were already good friends.
Speaking of READY OR KNOT, Tam Sin Yin performed a sexy pole dance.
This time the director asked her to sing and dance; but her singing
was very hard to listen to. The director still convinced her. Finally
in the film she performed a pop song, she even beg he original
performer for advice. Would Yeung Sze Wing treat her boyfriend Owen
Cheung Chun Long to watch the movie? She joked, "Tell him to buy his
own ticket, once wouldn't be enough as he has to watch a few more
times. We have to generate box office."
