Jerry Lamb Hiu Fung said, "For anyone with a lot of unresolved knots with those around them, the movie is very helpful to undoing those knots. The most important is to be together with family." Cecilia So Lai Shan said, "The movie has a lot of places that people can relate to, funny parts, moving parts, the movie definitely would be able to affect the audience." Stephanie Che Yuen Yuen stated that she cried. "I almost died from crying! I am very happy that Hong Kong has this movie that is able to reach how many people feel. All the actors are great, and the director has great skills. I have to watch it again and again." Emily Kwan Bo Wai was also deeply touched. Jennifer Yu Heung Yi after watching really wanted to say, "I really want to say sorry to Mama and have to cherish the present." Alex Lam Tak Shun and Michelle Wai Sze Nga yesterday promoted their film SEUNG WON (WALK WITH ME).

Alex has been afraid of watching horror films since childhood. When he was little his father George Lam Chi Cheung would occasionally take him to watch ghost films, which left him unable to sleep for half a year and constantly had nightmares. However this time he was willing to accept the ghost film challenge mainly because he has not tried it before. In addition he only took it because it had Sze Nga. Sze Nga joked that Alex thought she was his charm. Alex believed that this time Papa would show his support too. For his past films he would take his friends to watch and get feedback in return. This year's reviews have all been praises that left him feeling sweet. Would he like to work with his father? Alex said, "With the suitable script I want to. Because we have already worked together on music, I want to perform together. Only so far we still haven't had the chance, but Daddy is very demanding of his movies!"

Sze Nga said that she was more daring. She has always enjoyed horror films. For New Year her family would gather to tell ghost stories, but after finishing WALK WITH ME she would not plan to make another ghost film in the short run. While shooting in the haunted house in Malaysia strange things constantly happened, after the location shoot she was ill for 2 or 3 months after returning to Hong Kong. She was unable to recuperate her energy. Earlier she also had skin irritation that started with itching of the limbs. Then it went to her chest and made breathing difficult. However Mommy felt that she did not need to go to the emergency room and only applied ice. Although she was fine later, she still wanted to perform a test and plan to find the source of the allergy.

Angie Shum Yat Ka in her first starring role BINDING SOULS (BONG LING) was fortunately enough to work with Best Actress Kara Wai Ying Hung. She admitted that she was very happy as she played students with Carlos Chan Ka Lok and others while Wai Ying Hung played a former school employee. She said, "Working with Sister Hung of course I was super nervous! In one scene I had lines to say to her, I was shaking. Her presence truly was very sharp. She would always sense that I was very tense and tell me, 'It's just acting, the more nervous you are the harder acting would be!' She just kept telling me to relax like that, but I had a very hard time with it. I have never worked with such a heavyweight elder before. It was a great learning experience. I hope in the future I would have more scenes with elders."

Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) after 15 years worked together again on the film BODIES AT REST (CHUM MUK DIK JING YUN). The Ka Fai played forensic scientist ran into an evidence stealing thief Siu Chai on Christmas Eve and had close combat in the morgue and car chase outside. Ka Fai at Central drove fast and crashed a car. He even had to shoot a wet scene on the coldest days. Even "spectator" Siu Chai could not help but called Ka Fai "life risking".

Siu Chai thanked Hollywood action director Renny Harlin for his effort on this production because unlike other foreign films that came to Hong Kong to shoot the market for nostalgia but the prettiest side of Hong Kong this time. "We were at the Kwai Chung morgue, but he deliberately chose to shoot the car chase by the Central harbor and add into the beautiful Hong Kong night scenery. He was very thoughtful."

Jumping out of the morgue to race and crash at Central, Ka Fai had to drive in a circle and crashed with 4 cars. With the rain making the road slippery, Ka Fai was trapped in the car and bounced around like a pin ball. Finally after a few rolls it stopped. Because the shoot took place in the winter, the morning with the strong Central harbor wind the temperature was only in single digit. Ka Fai's body temperature almost dropped to freezing point. For different angles he was completely soaked then rapidly blown dry, then wet again and dried again. He performed professionally despite the exhaustion. As soon as the director yelled cut the crew rushed in and "rescued" Ka Fai out of the car. They also handed him towels and hot team to keep him warm. The awe struck Siu Chai treated everyone to piping hot dessert and cheered on Ka Fai and team.

Ka Fai helplessly said, "Making a movie is the toughest, on the coldest days rain and diving scenes would take place. Then the next day the temperature would climb back up again." Siu Chai also called Ka Fai "life risking", soaked in the rained, crashing around inside the car, and getting tossed onto a table during their fight scene. "Originally I was hurting all over when I hit Ka Fai, but after watching the playback, Ka Fai told me to do it again harder!" Ka Fai praised Siu Chai for acting with a mask on through, the physical performance was difficult in other ways.

Veteran actress Ha Ping (originally named Lo Siu Ping) passed away on the 5th at age 81. Yesterday morning at 9 AM the funeral took place at the Universal Funeral Parlor. Friends Lau Kong, Cheung Kwok Keung, Anderson Junior (On Tak Juen) and godson Gordon Lam Ka Tung also came to send Ha Ping on her final journey. The ceremony was Buddhist. After the funeral was completed, Ha Ping's photo was carried by a male relative as the coffin was transported to the Tseung Kwan O cemetery for burial. Godson Lam Ka Tung looked saddened but not as emotional as two nights ago. He focused on arranging transport for family and friends and other chores.

The hearse arrived at the cemetery around 10 AM. At the start of the burial ceremony Ka Tung first threw out offerings for Godmother to be on her journey at peace. Family and friends then presented incense sticks one after another. After the ceremony, everyone leapt over the fire in a basin and cleansed themselves with pummelo leaves. Ka Tung declined to comment and left without speaking to the media.

[2019.08.20] MICHELLE WAI CALMS HERSELF WITH A CHARM AT A HAUNTED HOUSE

courtesy of on.cc

Michelle Wai Sze Nga, Alex Lam Tak Shun and Richard Ng Yiu Hon worked on Malaysian director Lee Yung Cheung's horror film WALK WITH ME (SEUNG WON). For the horror atmosphere, the film was shot on location at one of the most haunted house there. Wai Sze Nga said that the shoot ran into many supernatural events. "I worked for more than half a month at the haunted house, the more we shot the more something felt wrong. Stuff would fall in the middle of the shoot, shadows could be seen at the corner of the eye. In several scenes an actor had to play being possessed. We were very scared. The director was afraid that something would happen. During the shoot a master followed us around. The master saw that I was getting more and more scared, so he gave me a charm."

However, Lam Tak Shun was afraid of Sze Nga instead. In the film they had an underwater fight scene that took 7 hours. "I knew Sze Nga was very focused on her acting, but she was also very clumsy. I was afraid that she would hurt or kill me by accident. Luckily underwater she had a lot more to keep in mind, so she was not as focused and I was more at ease."

Ng Yiu Hon scared himself. His character was often drunk and hit his daughter Sze Nga. "In one scene I had to be very vicious as I strangled her, the director told me that this scene did not need to be rehearsed. The feeling after any rehearsal would be different. During the shoot I didn't just frightened Sze Nga to tears but also scared myself with how violent I could be!"
