Jackie Chan started to celebrate his 60th birthday (April 7th) in Beijing, then Shanghai, yesterday he returned to Hong Kong for a birthday party in Clearwater Bay Shaw's Studio. Over 100 celebrities and stars attended, like Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, Alan Tam Wing Lun, Kenny Bee (Chung Chun To), Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, Karen Mok Man Wai, Anthony Wong Chau Sun, Simon Yam Tat Wa, Willie Chan Chi Keung, Lawrence Ng Kai Wa, Alex To Tak Wai, Chin Kar Lok and his wife, Ray Lui Leung Wai, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heung Wa Keung, Albert Yeung Sau Sing and Pansy Ho Chiu King. Eric Tsang Chi Wai was responsible for organizing the birthday party. He asked Mona Fong Yat Wa for the venue and set up over 10 tables for guests. Birthday boy Jackie Chan gave away big prizes like motorcycle, watch, and camera for guests' lucky drawing. He donated his cash gifts to charity.
Yesterday outside Shaw Studio two cardboard Jackie Chan guarded the entrance. By dusk over 50 media members were waiting. Jackie Chan arrived around 6:30PM and was in great spirits when reporters surrounded him. After he parked he accepted interviews.
Jackie Chan said that wife Joan Lin (Lam Fung Giu) and son Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming) were not in Hong Kong. They were in Beijing and Shanghai respectively to take care of friend who participated in the birthday festivities. He returned to Hong Kong yesterday afternoon and was very tired from all the birthday celebrations. This time Chi Wai made the arrangements. Aside from celebrating his birthday, he also had to meet friends as the Performing Artist Guild president. Jackie Chan today will return to Beijing for his film. He lamented that his life was tough but he was very happy to see his friends.
Jackie Chan said that he never thought this was how he would turn 60. Thousand year old trees exist but hundred year old people are rare, few are Sir Run Run Shaw (Siu Yat Fu). He calculated that if he would live to 90 he still had 30 years, but only 10 years to age 70. He had to properly enjoy life and cherish friends. His birthday wish was world peace and to contribute more to the nation and the Earth. Was he guaranteed to get drunk last night? Jackie Chan revealed that he has prepared a lot of liquor for friends to celebrate. He received a lot of gifts from friends for his 60th birthday. He said, "Now I have a lot of money! Many fans are donating money to my charity work, I already brought the money back to Hong Kong before dividing it up into donations." He received many gifts like paintings and art, he said that in the future he would put them on display for everyone. One day he would donate them to charity. Reportedly yesterday's guests would donate money to charity as well.
Yesterday most guests drove to the venue. Yam Tat Wa saw the grand event and took out his phone to take photos.
With so many media members, the scene was chaotic. When Chi Wai arrived someone ran into the streets to stop him for an interview. Chi Wai revealed that Alan and Cheung Hok Yau would perform and a lucky drawing was set up, with Jackie Chan giving away prizes like motorcycle and watches to everyone. Chi Wai said, "Friends who attended the birthday party asked me what kind of gifts they should prepare. Actually Jackie Chan has everything, everyone can just toast him and it would be enough!"
