The movie CUSTOMS FRONTLINE (HOI GUAN JIN SIN)'s director Herman Yau Lai To and lead actor Nicholas Tse Ting Fung flew to Malaysia the day before yesterday (9th) to launch promotional activities. Ting Fung returned to Malaysia for the first time in six years and attracted more than 2,000 movie fans to the venue, and the outdoor square was packed to capacity. Fans felt sorry for Ting Fung when they saw him risking his life in the movie, and told him to "love yourself more". Ting Fung, who had no limit when spoiling fans, interacted with fans enthusiastically and graciously met their requests. Ting Fung revealed that after filming CUSTOMS FRONTLINE, he will continue to serve as an action director in the new film RAGING HAVOC (NO FOR MAN YIN) and will "fight" with Andy Lau tak Wah. His figure will be "upgraded".
In an interview with the media, director Yau Lai To mentioned that Tse Ting Fung was the first person who came to his mind when he decided to shoot this movie. "It seems that he doesn't have many scenes where he is agile and wears uniforms. Of course, his "style" must be taken into consideration; which we have to show to the audience." Tse Ting Fung, who was fully committed to both the starring and action director positions, said that the script was very attractive. "Very few action movies would use elements of sea and water, so many unique features were in the production. I as an actor want to challenge different positions." Speaking of him wagering his life when personally performing all the action scenes, how did he handle the word "danger"? Tse Ting Fung said bluntly, "It is because of danger that I would use my team to ensure everyone's safety. Actually speaking of dangers, I think it's safe. If it wasn't safe, I wouldn't shoot like this. We made a lot of preparations and tested the camera positions before shooting, so we were very confident before shooting."
Tse Ting Fung also mentioned that he would customize scenes according to the script, characters and character design. "Actually, I think there is no difference between action and dialogue. They are all the emotions of the complete character. You can't say that this action 'cool' so you should do it. It doesn't work that way." Speaking of the scene in which Liu Yase and Tse Ting Fung got hurt in the battlefield explosion scene, Tse Ting Fung admitted that he felt very conflicted. "To have all these explosion experiences, I have to credit the elders for giving me the opportunity to accumulate them. They were something that you practice just by saying you want to practice. Actually Yase really wanted to do it. I told her that she has to follow me because it is really not easy to take into account the route and safety at the blasting site. I too want to let the actors gain (experience). "
Yau Lai To also bluntly said that he would hand over the responsibility of action directing to Tse Ting Fung because of his passion for action movies. Yau Lai To said, "When we film we must find people who are passionate. Instead of asking someone to do it, it's better to work with someone who really wants to do it." Tse Ting Fung also said with a smile that after filming CUSTOMS FRONTLINE, he really wanted to have the superpower to multiply himself. When asked about the action scene he wanted to challenge the most in the future, he was struck with inspiration and said, "If I can climb the Twin Towers, I will definitely come to shoot it!"
When asked if he would have more opportunities to participate in action director positions in the future, Tse Ting Fung said that he actually has participated in action design, editing and other post-production work in past movies. CUSTOMS FRONTLINE was the first time his name was in the credit, but his work practically was not much different from before. He also revealed that after filming CUSTOMS FRONTLINE, he also took on the position of action director in the new film RAGING HAVOC (NO FOR MAN YIN). After cooperating with "Song God" Cheung Hok Yau, the next one he would "match up" with would be Andy Lau Tak Wah. He even said that the "ice cube" abs he trained for CUSTOMS FRONTLINE would be "upgraded" in the new movie, but he also said with a smile, "I haven't kept up with them any more."
This time Tse Ting Fung made a whirlwind landing in Malaysia to promote CUSTOMS FRONTLINE and also held a public meeting with fans. He returned to Malaysia for the first time in six years and attracted more than 2,000 fans to the scene. Outside the venue was packed to the limit. When Tse Ting Fung and director Herman Yau Lai To appeared on the stage, fans even shouted "Ting Fung" in hopes of attracting the attention of their idols. The event also specifically arranged for a "confession conference" for lucky fans, allowing them to have a direct conversation with Tse Ting Fung. A female fan said that after seeing Tse Ting Fung's desperate performance in CUSTOMS FRONTLINE felt sorry for him and told him to "love yourself more." Tse Ting Fung also reassured the fans, "I will try my best to (love myself)." The crowd cheered and said, "Our hearts truly ache!" A die-hard fan who has supported Tse Ting Fung for 25 years was even more excited and said, "I can finally talk to you today. Can I take a photo with you?" Tse Ting FUNG originally wanted to say "Next time", but when he saw how "passionate" the fans were in the audience, he said, "It's better to just do it this time" and then rushed off the stage. Then a fan asked for a handshake, and upon seeing this, he still complied with the other person's request. He had no limit when spoiling his fans.
All the fans in the audience also encouraged him to come to perform a concert as soon as possible. Tse Ting Fung smiled and replied, "As soon as possible!" At the meeting, Tse Ting Fung also mentioned that he was very happy to cooperate with the "Song God" Jacky Cheung Hok Yau and even tailor-made for him the theme song VERY FAR PLACE. "To be able to collaborate is already very rare, but To be able to write a song for him is even rarer." He categorically denied that the two of them would sing together, and he has no intention of singing; but he revealed that he really wanted to work with Cheung Hok Yau on a comedy together.
