Gordon Lam due to his injury is unable to go to Venice courtesy of on.cc
Gordon Lam reveals that his injury would take 3 to 4 weeks to slowly recover from courtesy of mingpao.com
Gordon Lam Ka Tung was originally scheduled to fly to Venice with
the documentary "Hong Kong Classic Reimagined" team on the evening of the
31st of this month to attend the "FILMING ITALY VENICE AWARD" event and
receive the "Outstanding Contribution to Documentary" award, but due to
rain a few days ago the road was slippery. Ka Tung fell down on the
stairwell and was injured. Fortunately, his spine was not injured.
However, he still needed to be treated in Hong Kong ws am unable to go
with the team.
"Hong Kong Classic Reimagined" producer Chan Sin Chi pointed out
that Ka Tung was injured recently and had to stay in Hong Kong for medical
treatment. Ka Tung checked in and said, "I thought I could still set off
with the team, but the doctor said that it would take at least three to
four weeks before I can slowly recover. I am not suitable for
long-distance flights. Although I really want to attend with everyone, I
can only stay in Hong Kong to support everyone silently. "
Ka Tung took part in the short film PASSION CALL. Its director
Wong Kwok Keung would be a representative at the event. Ka Tung hoped to
be able to connect with everyone online in real time to share this joy and
encouragement.
Stephy Tang, Sandra Ng and MC Cheung all have different views on meeting people online courtesy of singtao.com

The Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, Stepy Tang Lai Yan and MC Cheung Tin Fu
starred film LOVE LIES (NGOR TAM DIK NA CHEUNG LUEN OI) explored the
nature of love through online fraud. Tang Lai Yan laughed and said
that she prefers meeting new friends face to face than dating apps.
MC admitted that he used to play with dating software
anonymously but just for chatting. Ng Kwan Yu also made friends online;
but when she saw the other person's photo, she was immediately logged off.
MC said that now he would rely on introductions from friends to meet
girls, and he would take the initiative when meeting someone he would
like.
Ng Kwan Yu played Yu Siu Kam, a famous gynecologist who due to
the death of her husband was lonely and lacked love. She downloaded
a dating app and thought that she met a French engineer (played by Cheung
Tin Fu) online; but he was actually a novice swindler in an online fraud
group nicknamed "Youngster". Under the guidance of Tang Lai Yan, one of
the leaders of the fraud group, he defrauded Ng Kwan Yu of a huge sum
of money. Kwan Yu once questioned the plot after reading the script; but
considering the fact that there were many similar fraud cases in reality,
she was persuaded to take the role. "The director did the research to
write this role. I often don't understand when I watch the news; I would
ask, 'How can they be so stupid, so easily fooled?' However it turned out
that some people are actually very trusting; so I was very committed to
the performance."
Ng Kwan Yu, Tang Lai Yan and MC recently
promoted the movie together. Did they use dating apps due to the filming
of LOVE? Tang Lai Yan said that friends around her did, but she did not
dare and never thought about playing with them. She felt that you have to
meet and get along with someone before you know them. When she was
single, she would not be impatient to date and just find someone at
random. MC admitted that he once played a purely chat-only dating software
anonymously, and said that even if he used his real name no one would
believe it. However he did not use it anymore. How would he meet girls?
He said with a smile, "I rely on friends for introductions. I dare to love
and take the initiative. When I meet someone I like, I will take the
initiative and act."
Stephy was afraid of unreal feelings and has never thought of
meeting someone through an online dating app. "I believe more in
face-to-face feelings. Everything starts with getting along as
friends."
Already a mother, Ng Kwan Yu also said that she has tried making
friends online when she was young. "Before (Peter) Chan Ho Sun appeared in
my life, because I used to feel bored after work I would chat with people
online. I still remember that the other person claimed to be from Texas,
the United States. Our conversation was similar to the dialogue in the
movie. The other party would express concern for her. One day he asked
me to send him a photo, so I asked him to show me the photo first. I
thought he was a German engineer or someone with a lot of talent, but as
soon as I saw it, the fantasy disappeared; I cut off contact with him
immediately and ran away in fright."
Ng Kwan Yu, Stephy and MC shared the same sentiments on the issue
of online fraud. They believed that there are endless scammers in today's
world, and they hoped to use the movie as a warning to people not to trust
people easily and to prevent property damage. Stephy revealed that she
has encountered an online scam and was almost deceived. "A friend asked
me to borrow money through IG (Instagram). The wording in the message was
very strange. I contacted the friend through other channels and found
that scammers hacked the account. I relied on my awareness to uncover the
whole thing." MC said that a friend has been defrauded out of tens of
thousands of dollars. "My friend received a facetime call from an
acquaintance, saying that he needed to borrow money in an emergency.
Later he found out that the scammer has stolen the other person's facial
information and recorded the scam."
Being greeted with warm greetings and care in the film, both Ng
Kwan Yu and Tang Lai Yan admitted that any woman would enjoy that.
Currently in love, Tang Lai Yan pointed out that she and her
boyfriend were not in a long-distance relationship, but girls like to be
cared for. She smiled and admitted that she was happy
with her outside the industry boyfriend. "Every girl enjoys being loved,
of course I am happy if he sends text messages to express concern for
me."
Ng Kwan Yu laughed and said that even the concern between family
members would be heartwarming. When asked would she and Peter Chan Ho
Sun still express concerned for each other often? Ng Kwan Yu laughed and
said, "Now my daughter's concern warms my heart even more. Every
time she calls me, I would get really smitten. My daughter is my lover;
(What is Chan Ho Sun's position?) He is already a family member."
MC said that he rarely uses social media software because he felt
that meeting friends online would not be like getting along face to face
in the past. The advancement of technology has brought people closer, but
it has also built up barriers. For example, the other person might often
shares work out photos online but might not be working out in real life.
In the film Kwan Yu was defrauded of money because of love, in
reality the two ladies said that they would help if they needed money.
Kwan Yu added that it was best for everyone to be financially
independent. Kwan Yu said, "It is best to be financially independent
from the people around you, but some people really need help. If I know
that they are in trouble, I would help; but if they just take the money
for speculating or gambling, I wouldn't."
As for MC, he admitted that asking the opposite sex for money
would be difficult. "Before debuting I have experienced a very low
point and I wasn't making it. Sometimes I would ask friends for
help, but they were all poor too. I would very rarely ask the opposite
sex. At most I would ask Ma, who ould give me money while telling me
to watch what I spend." Ng Kwan Yu revealed that MC brought two big
boxes of snow crabs to honor his mother after filming the location in
Japan. He was very filial.
In addition, Ng Kwan Yu and Tang Lai Yan did not
have a role opposite each other this time. They both expressed regret,
maybe they could play love rivals if they would have the opportunity to
work together? Ng Kwan Yu immediately joked, "I can't compete with her!"
Tang Lai Yan returned the favor, "I don't dare to compete with her." Tang
Lai Yan made Cheung Tin Fu blush in a scene where she was helping Cheung
Tin Fu with his tie. He laughed and said that during the filming he was
very nervous, he needed time to prepare mentally every time he
collaborated with a female co-star.
"When I made music videos before, I was very nervous
when the lead actress was there. I needed time to warm up. I would take
the initiative to get people to chat and become amiliar with them." Kwan
Yu immediately took charge and asked MC when getting the girl to chat, was
he afraid that people would mistakenly get the wrong ideas? MC said,
"There is no way to avoid scandals in this business." Kwan Yu taught MC
social skills and suggested that keeping to simple and polite greetings
when meeting new friends, which would be able to reduce a lot of trouble.

Patrick Tam Yiu Man, Skye Chan Sin Yeung and Harriet Yeung
Sze Man (Shrimp Head) participated in the film director Ridley Tsui Bo Wah
produced "Finch and Midland" (Chinese title "I Should Be Happy Today").
The production start ceremony was held in Toronto, Canada the day before
yesterday. The staff kept in line with tradition, arranged for a
roast pig cutting ceremony. Both Tam Yiu Man and Shrimp Head said that
they did not expect to come to Toronto to film, and the team also retained
Hong Kong characteristics. The local staff expressed their curiosity and
followed them to pray for everything to go well.
Already immigrated to Canada, Chan Sin Yeung played the role of
Tam Yiu Man's ex-wife in the film. She recalled that she was very excited
after knowing that the audition was successful. She did full of her
homework before starting work. She said, "I am very much looking forward
to the performance. The last time I filmed a drama was already 3 years
ago, and this time I was very excited when I got the script." Tam Yiu Man
arrived in Toronto last week for costume fitting and table read with the
actors. Producer Tsui Bo Wah said that the film was adapted from a true
story, and the prototype characters in the film are still living in the
Chinese community in Toronto.
Patrick Tam Yiu Man recently flew to Toronto, Canada, in a low-key
manner to film the North American movie "Finch and Midland". In the film
Ah Tam plays a singer who has immigrated for many years and talks about
his situation and experiences in a foreign land. Ah Tam said, "I was very
surprised when I received the script. In my imprss I have never played a
singer before, and I can experience working with a foreign team. It
should be a bit challenging." Reportedly he would have a lot of English
dialogues this time. He said with a smile, "When I encounter some that
are very hard to say, I would ask my son for advice; I thank him so much
for your patience in teaching me, haha!"
The film also invited Nina Paw (Bau Hei Jing), Yeung Sze Man and
Theresa Lee Yi Hung and others to participate in the performance. Sister
Bau earlier went to the UK to visit her daughter's family and stayed there
for about two months. She will resume work mode early next month and set
off for Canada to join the team.
Cheng Pei Pei, known as the heroine of a generation, had a film and television career spanning 60 years. courtesy of mingpao.com
Veteran actor Cheng Pei Pei passed away from illness in the United
States last month. The Golden Horse Executive Committee announced
yesterday that she would be posthumously awarded the Lifetime Achievement
Award at the 61st Golden Horse Awards. The 91-year-old Taiwanese
photographer Lin Wenjin would also receive the same honor. After Cheng
Pei Pei's children learned that their mother had won the award, they said,
"We are all very proud of our mother and her career, and are deeply
honored that the Golden Horse Awards recognize her achievements." This
year's Golden Horse Awards will be held at the Taipei Music Center on
November 23 and the nominations will be announced on October 2.
Cheng Pei Pei's film and television career span 60 years. She was a
trainee in the second Shaw Brothers Southern Experimental Theater training
class. She became popular in the mid-1960s. She shone in the King Hu
(Wu Kam Chuen) directed COME DRINK WITH ME (DAI JUI HUP), establishing her
classic image as a screen heroine. When she became popular, she starred in
a large number of martial arts films, earning her the title of "Martial
Arts Film Queen". In fact, she also had wonderful performances in the
literary romance films LOVERS' ROCK, SONG OF ORCHID ISLAND, and the
musical HONG KONG NOCTURNE. Cheng Pei Pei took a break from acting for a
while after her marriage. She changed her career path and launched talk
shows, dance lessons, and even documentaries on TV. She did not forget to
repay her mentor. In 1983, she supported King Hu's ALL THE KING'S MEN.
Returning to the film industry in the 1990s, she played Mrs. Hua
in THE FLIRTING SCHOLAR starring Stephen Chow Sing Chi. In 2000, she
played the role of Jade Fox in the Ang Lee directed CROUCHING TIGER,
HIDDEN DRAGON and won the Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Supporting
Actress. In 2014, she played a gay mother in the British film LILTING,

Bosco Wong, Angel Lam, and Bosco Wong two nights ago attended THE UNWAVERING BROTHERHOOD Poon Choi banquet
A "hidden camera" video of Bosco Wong yelling at a waiter in Malaysia appeared online. Yesterday the distribution company clarified that the video was shot for promotional purposes courtesy of mingpao.com
A Poon Choi Banquet was held at the Grand China Hotel in Cheung
Sha Wan the night before for the movie THE UNWAVERING BROTHERHOOD (JAT
JIK 3), which would be released on the 29th. Actors Bosco Wong Chung
Chak, Louis Cheung Kai Chung, Angel Lam Chin Ting, Kenneth Lai Chun, Chu Tin
and others attended. Cheung Kai Chung was envious of the superstar
treatment Wong Chung Chak received when he went to Malaysia for
promotions, and joked that the the responsibility for giving benefits
should go to the one who was the fittest -- Mark Cheng Ho Nam.
The film company announced that the maximum ticket price was set at
HK$60. Wong Chung Chak said that movies can be enjoyed by the people. Film
companies and theater chains could offer discounts to neighbors. It was a
good thing to support the Hong Kong economy. Cheung Kai Chung also agreed
that stimulating the economy was definitely a good thing and could make
people happy. They would work hard on audience appreciation events,
hoping that more viewers will come to the theater to support them.
Speaking of Bosco's recent trip to Malaysia to promote the movie
and people packed the streets, Cheung Kai Chung said that he was filming
in Hong Kong and could not go with him. However, when he saw the clip, he
felt that the scene was so epic. He envied Bosco for enjoying the
superstar-like reception. Bosco said with a smile that it was indeed a
well done. When the actors appeared in the center of Kuala Lumpur, they
were not only welcomed with dragon and lion dances, but also dozens of men
in black lining up on both sides. When people walked by they called him
"big brother". Did he really feel like a superstar? Bosco replied with a
smile, "They made it seem so real, but I'm just an actor!" Very popular
in Malaysia, Bosco said that he has spoken with the team. With a good box
office in Malaysia, he would go there to celebrate. Ticket
scapling appeared during the premiere in Malaysia, which has not happened
for a long time. When the 4th installment would start production in the
future, they could go to Malaysia to shoot on the location and call it
"JAT MA". Will they give benefits for a good box office performance?
Cheung Kai Chung said with a smile, "I don't encourage it. It depends on
the type of film and the actors. I leave the coercion and the inducement
to the young actors. I have been in the industry for so long, I
won't fall into the trap; but I would attend audience appreciation
events." He smiled and assigned the welfare distribution to the person
who was the fittest -- Mark Cheng Ho Nam. "I made a lot of movies, and I
can't wear swimming trunks many times. I don't have any more abdominal
muscles to show off. If I do, I would show my dermis and blood vessels.
It would be too academic. Do I need to show my pores? No one would
probably want to see that, showing people picture of your blood vessels,
it's so perverted!"
As for hopes for a 4th installment, both said that the actors were
getting better and better with each other as they filmed, and since the
market was not good, they hoped that the boss would make more movies so
that everyone would be able to work together. Since Bosco now was a boss,
would he want to invest in movies or use his salary to invest? He stated
that his investment was small business and his salary was not much.
Who received more salary between him and Cheung Kai Chung? Cheung Kai
Chung pointed out that Bosco's salary was higher and that he was a
practical type. Bosco said, "Maybe I get a little more than him, but he
makes up for it by working more!"
Recently, a "hidden camera" video was circulated on the Internet.
Bosco was dissatisfied with the waiter in a restaurant in Malaysia and
yelled at the waiter and manager when he was served the wrong beef chow
fun. Sharp eyed people online saw that Bosco had a hidden microphone on
his body and knew that the filming was taking place. They also joked
that his acting was too excessive when he got angry. However, some also
believed it to be true and thought he had a bad attitude towards the
waiters. Yesterday, the Malaysian distribution company of THE UNWAVERING
BROTHERHOOD issued a statement to clarify and released the complete
video, saying that the short film was shot for publicity and Bosco had no
intention of deceiving anyone.
Stephy Tang in love is particularly happy courtesy of on.cc
Bowie Tsang, Stephy Tang and Norris Wong attend the Summer International Film Festival closing ceremony courtesy of mingpao.com
The Stephy Tang Lai Yan co-starred, Norris Wong Yi Lam co-directed
and Bowie Tsang Po Yee produced TALES OF TAIPEI became the closing film of
the "Summer International Film Festival 2024". The three attended the
closing ceremony the night before. Stephy said that TALES was her first
film production in Taiwan, then she later participated in the ViuTV drama
THE FLOATING GENERATION there. Although she only had three days of
filming, director Wong Yi Lam, who has already moved there, too care of
her and made her feel very happy. Stephy has been nourished
by love recently, and her face was full of joy. She said that being an
actress was very happy, and she also expressed that she wanted to try
behind-the-scenes work. "I want to try writing scripts and being a
director."
When asked about the filming of TALES in Taiwan, did her
Taiwanese boyfriend visit the set? Stephy played dumb and said, "Did I
know him at that time?" However, the director Wong Yi Lam
immediately confirmed that she did. Stephy explained awkwardly that she
really had no impression and did not remember whether he came to visit the
set. Stephy smiled awkwardly and said,
"Really? I don't have much of a memory. For this movie I really don't
remember whether he visited, later when I worked on the series he did."
Stephy earlier visited Macau with fellow girl group Cookies
members Yeung Oi Kun (Miki), Ho Yi Ling (Elaine) and Chan So Ying
(Gloria). She said that she suddenly had an idea to have a meal together
and go to Macau to visit Elaine, who lives there. Actually they often
would meet up occasionally. Would Cookies have any collaboration plan?
She said, "Just for fun, we can meet each other even if we don't
collaborate."
TALES OF TAIPEI gathered 10 directors to make 10 short films to
connect 10 stories. When asked why Tsang Po Yee did not ask her younger
brother Derek Tsang Kwok Cheung to direct, Tsang Po Yee laughed and said
that his rate was expensive. In addition she wanted to work with more
directors. Tsang Kwok Cheung did not meet the requirements for new
directors who have only directed a film. This time TALES
was composed of multiple short stories and screened in different places.
Tsang Po Yee said that viewers of different age levels have their own
preferences, "Viewers would particularly like a certain story
based on their background, so this movie is very suitable for a date
movie. If you want to get to know a boy, take him to watch it."
Director Wong Yi Lam admitted that she has hoped to invite Bowie
Tsang Po Yee to be an actress and play the role of an independent woman
for a film she would direct, but Tsang rejected her. Bowie said that
being an actor was very difficult. Being a producer and a director mainly
used the brain, but actors needed to bear the press of being in front of
the camera. "It's definitely not a good idea. Acting is a very hard job.
All the pressure is on the actor in front of the camera."
German Cheung praises Bosco Wong and Carlos Chan as "big deals". courtesy of on.cc
Director Ng Ka Wai, action director German Cheung, Bosco Wong and Carlos Chan promote the film THE UNWAVERING BROTHERHOOD in Malaysia courtesy of mingpao.com
The Emperor Motion Picture THE UNWAVERING BROTHERHOOD (JAT JIK 3)
starred Bosco Wong Chung Chak, Louis Cheung Kai Chung, Carlos Chan Ka Lok,
Niki Chow Lai Kei, Mark Cheng Ho Nam, Michael Tao Dai yu and others. The
film would be released in Malaysia. The director Terry Ng Ka Wai and
Wong Chung Chak, after just completing the Hong Kong premiere last week,
immediately set off to Kuala Lumpur and Penang for several days of
promotion and attended the film press conference together with the film's
action director Cheung Man Kit (German).
Bosco said frankly that many years after debuting, this was the
first opportunity he had to go to Malaysia to promote a movie and thank
the audience. The experience felt fresh. Bosco revealed that THE
UNWAVERING BROTHERHOOD had many chase and fighting scenes. He complained
that filming the chase scenes were too exhausting and the running was very
difficult. He asked the director on the spot that if they made TRIAD 4,
he would apply to play Cheng Ho Nam's role. He joked that at least he was
very stylish even when under attack.
During his break from filming a new film in Malaysia, German took
the time to attend the film press conference and fan meeting of THE
UNWAVERING BROTHERHOOD. During the meeting, German praised the three
stars Wong Chung Chak, Cheung Kai Chung and Chan Ka Lok as "big deals"
(not to be underestimated) , German said, "Sometimes I worry about whether
the three of them can do it, and whether we need to prepare stunt doubles?
Actually, when they went to the set the three of them were very dedicated
and believed that they could do it; so they performed many of the fighting
scenes were performed themselves. In one of the (scenes) they ran on
Nathan Road, which was very dangerous. They all insisted on jumping over
the railings by themselves. I was worried that they would fall." Wong
Chung Chak, who was standing next to him, revealed, "I was actually very
nervous at the moment."
When asked if he would continue to run on the streets if he was
filming TRIAD 4? Both Bosco and German suggested that they would run on
the streets outside the Kuala Lumpur Pavilion. Bosco also suggested that
the movie should be called TRIAD 4: MALAYSIA CHAPTER. He also admitted
that he wanted to continue acting in this movie series because he and the
team already had bond and the filming process was very enjoyable.
However, his only request was "I would like to apply for not runnng so
much!"
As for the film promotion event for THE UNWAVERING BROTHERHOOD in
Kuala Lumpur, over a thousand fans were waiting for director Ng Ka Wai,
Bosco, and German to appear. Even Chan Ka Lok, who was busy with a new
production, also rushed to the scene to meet the audience. In addition to
interacting with viewers and giving away signed posters, the stars also
came off the stage to take photos with the fans. The fans could not have
been more excited.
The 77 year old Clifford Choi hopes to make up for his mistakes while he is alive, as he does not want any regret

Clifford Choi Kai Kwong, the director of the 1980 film ENCORE (HOK CHOI),
will write and direct his first stage play BERKELEY DAYS at the Hong Kong
Cultural Center Theater in September. The story is based on Choi Kai
Kwong's own experience. In the process, he faced the trauma he has
avoided. At the age of 77, he hopes to repair his flaws as much as
possible during his lifetime. Having directed many films, he praised
HONG KONG, HONG KONG (NAM YU NUI)'s Cherie Chung Chor Hung for having the
courage to appear naked in order to get rid of her "flower vase" image.
However, he was ashamed to face Alex Man Chi Leung who was injured during
the filming of a free style fight scene. He also revealed that ENCORE's
Danny Chn Pak Keung and Mary Jean Reimer (Yung Jing Jing) had such strong
personalities back then that they would not shoot if they did not want to.
Choi Kai Kwong, who won the "Best Original Screenplay" at the 20th
Golden Horse Awards in 1983 for the movie HONG KONG, HONG KONG, this time
would bring to the stage his story with classmates while studying English
literature in California from 1969 to 1973. He explained that he
deliberately "buried alive" this experience for many years and it was time
to face himself, dig open the wounds, see where they were broken and still
bleeding, mend them and sew them up to heal himself. "While writing the
script, my emotions kept coming up and brought back many memories. I
have cried as I wrote, but there were times when I laughed."
As for what the trauma was, he said that he was afraid that if he
talked about it he could not help but burst into tears and get upset. When
pressed, he said, "During the student movement (the movement to defend the
Diaoyutai in 1970) everyone should have charged forward together. My
friends rushed forward and were injured. I actually didn't charge and hurt
my friends intentionally or unintentionally. I felt very guilty, so I
kept avoiding it and didn't want to face it." He pointed out that
everyone would encounter many painful things in the process of growing up,
such as breaking up, losing a job, failing exams, etc., but he felt that
guilt was the most painful. "I have been guilty and suffering for many
years, which I have only now faced myself. I am already 77 years old and
almost at the end of my life. It is time to make a summary. I haven't
seen some friends for decades, but I took the initiative to apologize to
them and say I'm sorry. At that time I shouldn't have left without saying
goodbye! I apologize when I have the chance. Sometimes I can't find the
person, or he may have passed away; so I have to hurry up and do my best,
hoping that I won't have any regrets when I die."
Choi Kai Kwong said that the happiest time in life was when he was
at school, while making a movie was the most painful. "I am happy only
when the movie is released. The production process is very painful, with
many difficulties to face; including solving financial problems, finding
actors, scheduling, coordinating with various departments during the
production, etc. After work when I got home, I still couldn't rest as I
continued to read the script (Why have you only made 11 movies in so many
years?) Because I have made all the movies I wanted to make, and I didn't
get the support for the ones I wanted to make; just like I originally
wanted ot make BERKELEY DAYS into a movie, it would have to be shot on
location in the United States, Taiwan and Hong Kong. In addition, there
would be many big scenes and the production costs would be huge. It was
difficult to find funding, so I ended up changing it to a stage play."
Choi Kai Kwong put a lot of effort into each of his films, hoping
that the audience would like them and they would achieve good box office
results. The most talked about ones were ENCORE (HOK CHOI) and HONG KONG,
HONG KONG (NAM YU NUI) back then. He was also more satisfied with these
two movies, "ENCORE was my directing debut in 1980. Due to limited
resources and the immature film industry at that time, despite having major
production companies such as Shaw Brothers they were used to shooting in
studios and dubbing in post-production; their live-action production
techniques were only average. We, a group of new-wave directors, made
movies in actual locations and on-site sound recording, so we had to
understand every aspect. There was no art director at that time, so we
took care of everything ourselves. There were not many people who knew
how to write movie scripts. (Lawrence) Cheng Tan Shui and (Manfred) Man
Jun each wrote a part, then connected them together."
Choi Kai Kwong said that the ENCORE actors Leslie Cheung Kwok
Wing, Danny Chan Pak Keung and Mary Jean Reimer (Yung Jing Jing) were very
young at the time and needed time to get used to each other. "Leslie was
very professional. He had made movies before this film and had acting
experience. He was fully prepared before arriving at the set. Danny had
never made a movie before, so he didn't understand the work model and was
emotionally unstable. Even though not a single shot was taken when he
first arrived on set, he still left; but three or four years after
filming ENCORE, I ran into Danny again and he said to me, 'Director Choi,
I put a lot of effort into making movies now.' He wasn't ashamed to see
me but of himself, because he knew that filming and singing were
different. If you were in a bad mood or had a discomfort in your throat
during the recording session, you could reschedule the recording and the
loss would be limited; but there were dozens of people working on the film
everyday. Actually he didn't understand it at the time, and I didn't
blame him." As for Yung Jing Jing, Choi Kai Kwong praised her as a smart
woman who knew what she was doing; but shew was not suitable for being an
actress. "She had a strong personality and was very principled. She
would never do anything beyond her bottom line, so she was right to become
a lawyer."
Speaking of the Chung Chor Hung, Man Chi Leung and Kwan Hoi Shan
starred HONG KONG, HONG KONG (NAM YU NUI), its scale was quite bold at the
time. The sex scene between Kwan Hoi Shan and Hung Goo caused quite an
uproar. Choi Kai Kwong said with a smile, "Even I don't understand; I
have made many movies, why do people only remember this scene? It's so
infuriating!" He revealed that Hung Goo was willing to make the sacrifice
and gave a daring performance because she wanted to get rid of the "flower
vase" image. "At the she has made many movies and become popular, but she
still felt that there were still many shortcomings. Many roles had her
playing flower vases, so she was worried that if she continued, the
audience would soon be tired of her; so when I asked her to play a role
with nudity, she immediately agreed and I was shocked. She was very sharp
and knew what she wanted. She wanted a break through with the role of Meng
Sichen in the film, sot here was no problem at all during the filming. She
even took the initiative to ask me how the bed scene with Kwan Hoi Shan
would be filmed and the level of nudity, 'Will his hand reach my butt?'
Her ability of acceptance was very high, as long as the communication was
done before hand we could start shooting as soon as we turned on the
camera."
Man Chi Leung had a fight scene in HONG KONG, HONG KONG in which
a professional boxer broke his arm. Choi Kai Kwong felt very sorry for
the incident. Even though it was 44 years ago, he still wanted to say
sorry to him. "He had a free style fight in the film. In order to make
the competition realistic, I hired a professional boxer to fight with him.
Man Chi Leung might know the opponent's history of killing someone in
competition, so he was a little timid. When the opponent kicked in the
air, he used his left hand to block it. Maybe he was too fast and a little
high; he was kicked to the wrist that was not covered by the gloves, and
his hand were broken. I was really sorry for him. Afterwards, I thought
that he should have been fighting with a trained stuntman. The filming
was stopped for half a year until he fully recovered and returned to
work."

Preparations for movie star Stephen Chow Sing Chi's new film
WOMEN'S SOCCER (NUI JOK) are in full swing. He has always liked to cast
popular mainland male stars. Following Huang Bo, Wang Baoqiang, and Deng
Chao, reportedly top mainland star Wang Yibo has caught the new film's
eyes and he is actively discussing cooperation! The film has announced an
audition for the leading actress in Taiwan earlier, and the finalists were
originally scheduled to be announced in June. However due to the large
number of applicants, the choices could not be made in time. Thus the top
six were not announced until yesterday. Among them, the "sweet version of
Shu Qi" Zhang Tianyi was the most eye-catching.
"King of Comedy" Chow Sing Chi launched plans to start filming the
female version of SHAOLIN SOCCER (SIU LUM JOOK KAU), WOMEN'S SOCCER (NUI
JOOK) (tentative title) last year. Many artists such as Sisley Choi Si
Bui, Rosita Kwok Pak Yin and former co-star Karen Mok Man Wai have publicly
expressed their desire to participate. Reportedly Chow Sing Chi has been
actively looking for male leads in recent months. Always preferring to
use popular mainland actors to play the male lead in movies, he has chosen
Wang Yibo, a top actor from the mainland this time. He collaborated with
Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Zhou Xun in the movie HIDDEN BLADE last year, and
his acting skills were highly praised. Wang Yibo celebrated his 27th
birthday earlier. Fans from all walks of life have been overwhelmingly
promoting for the idol, which fully confirmed his popularity. He recently
released a new song, the theme song for the mainland version of RUNNING
MAN, is also extremely popular and has been highly recommended by the
show. It quickly received more than 2 million likes. With such a strong
momentum, Chow Sing Chi truly is very discerning! Reportedly, most of the
movies that Wang Yibo has made in in recent years have been relatively
heavy. Therefore, he has been said to be very interested in acting in a
comedy and working with the comedian of a generation. He is actively
considering it. However, because WOMEN'S is obviously a female driven
movie, there are always considerations, and the two sides are still in
negotiation.
As for the lead actress, Chow Sing Chi's team held a large-scale
audition press conference in Taiwan in March this year. The shortlist
announcement was originally scheduled in June and to be followed by the
finals. However, relevant parties pointed out that due to the enthusiastic
response, people all over the world, including North America, Japan,
South Korea, and Southeast Asia, signed up. It was very difficult to
select the shortlist among 30,000 people, so the final was postponed to
yesterday in Taiwan.
The finals will be judged by Chow Sing Chi's team and the
assistant director of the movie WOMEN'S SOCCER, Ng Man Leung and others.
The contestants will need to compete for points through randomly assigned
performance projects to test their talents. All the contestants tried
their best yesterday, playing blind, scared and everything. Among them,
22-year-old Zhang Tianyi, known as the "sweet version of Shu Qi",
successfully entered the top six with her 40-inch long legs and beautiful
appearance. Like Rosita Kwok Pak Yin, she also graduated from Hong Kong
University. She is 1.73 meters tall and is a model. Although her talent
performance showed that her acting skills still need to be honed, Chow
Sing Chi should have no difficulty; since he was skilled at training
female newcomers. As for the remaining top five, they are Taiwan's new
generation singer-songwriter Shana Xie Caiwen (stage name Caizi), athlete
Bonnie Cai Nanyun, "dancing" master Yao Fang, Malaysian impersonation
master Guan Lixin, and the Taipei University of the Arts Filmmaking
Department graduate who resembles the movie KUNG FU HUSTLE's Bucktooth
Chun, Betty Yang Yunqian successfully won the favor of the judges by
lifting the "Disappearing Dumbbell" in the talent show! Although each of
them has been selected into the final six, it was still unknown whether
they would participate in WOMEN'S SOCCER. Later they would be arranged to
come to Hong Kong for a one-on-one interview with Chow Sing Chi to select
the ultimate "Real Sing Girl"!

When one is born as a person, one is bestowed hope since birth. Yet as
one ages, one gradually discovers that everything means jack squat—until
the moment of death, which marks the beginning of one's life as a ghost.
Being a person is hard enough, but it turns out being a ghost is not
easy, either. NEWBIE, as a newbie ghost, realizes to her horror that she
has just 28 days until her spirit will dissipate from the world. MAKOTO,
a demon agent who appears to be a scammer, approaches the Newbie with a
proposition for her to join has-been demon star CATHERINE in
reconstructing the legendary horror story of the Wang Lai Hotel. The
Newbie learns that ghosts in the Netherworld are as occupied with work
as the living: without the talent of terrorizing people, ghosts cannot
continue existing in the world—life does not end after death. "But I
don't want to be forgotten!" thus becomes ghosts' final conviction, and
these ghosts about to be forgotten by the living must, amidst the
challenges, find a way to “horrible” fame by scaring people. As long as
you have talent in terrorization, you will be seen!

The 1980 Hong Kong film THE SPOOKY BUNCH (JONG DOH JING) was
recently screened at the Hong Kong Film Archive. The film was Ann Hui On
Wa's second film, written by Joyce Chan Wan Man. The film traveled from
Sai Wan to Cheung Chau, with the Chinese opera troupes going to the
countryside and encountering ghost sounds, ghost energy, and ghosts
fighting ghosts. In the film, a group of ghosts caused chaos in a Chinese
opera troupe in a humorous and interesting production. On the one hand,
Hui On Wa played with the Chinese opera troupe culture, with young divas
feuding openly and secretly and leaving the backstage in an utter mess;
on the other hand, she thoroughly put folk ghost legends on full display.
The protagonist Ah Chi was unconventional and had no fear, accidentally
messing up the ghosts in a completely unconventional way. Siao Fong Fong
as the star was more joyful and radiant. The two performance within a
movie, "Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty Dreams of Meeting His Wife" and
"Wu Song Kills His Sister in Law", incorporated the ghostly elements of Cantonese
opera into comedy and misunderstandings, creating a seamless atmosphere
both on and off the stage.
Recently, Siao Fong Fong reserved a venue and brought together
her film friends from the 1980s, such as Hui On Wa, Yonfan, Tina Lau Tin
Lan, Rebecca Lee Lok Si and others to reminisce about their past.

Singer Hins Cheung King Hin had earlier filmed an advertisement

walking around a MTR station and saw scenes of classic Hong Kong movies
from different eras, including Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing and Maggie Cheung

Cheung in HEART TO HEARTS (SAM YUN SAI GAI), and Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin's
dream-chasing journey in DIVA...AH HEY (HA YUT JAP TIN HAU).
Hin Jai said with a smile, "Watching these clips really brings
back a lot of memories. They are all so star-studded. I am lucky to be
able to appear with them in this commercial!" Hin Jai rarely got to walk
around a station to shoot an advertisement, so he took the opportunity to
visit and take photos. He said that he would see his advertisements
on the platform and station light boxes from time to time, which made him
feel so loved.

Cityscapes of Hong Kong Films Exhibition", which would recreate impressive
scenes from 5 recent Hong Kong films and showcase Hong Kong's urban
scenery and cultural diversity of life, would be held on August 16th to
to 25th.
On August 16, Acting Director of the Economic and Trade Office in
Bangkok Jason Chow Chin Ching, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the
Ministry of Culture of Thailand Yuthika Isarangkura, and many Hong Kong
filmmakers in front and behind the scenes including directors Herman Yau
Lai To, Nick Cheuk Yik Him, Ho Miu Ki, producer Chan Hing Ka, actors Kenny
Wong Tak Bun and Jozev Lau (Kiu Ching Fu); many Thai stars include actor
and screenwriter Chantavit Dhanasevi (Ter), actors Chutimon
Chuengcharoensukying (Aokbab), Pruk Panich (Zee), Jump and Siwat
Jumlongkul (Mark), as well as Thai directors Nonzee Nimibutr, Kongkiat
Khomsiri, Kongdej Jaturanrasmee and Nontawat Numbenchapol attended the red
carpet and opening ceremony.
Chow Chin Ching said that this event was a valuable platform for
professional exchanges between Hong Kong and Thai filmmakers. He was very
happy to see Hong Kong filmmakers and actors actively exploring the Thai
market. He hoped that the increasing interaction would lead to new
collaboration projects and further enrich Hong Kong and Thailand's film
industry.
TWILIGHT actors Kenny Wong Tak Bun, Jozev Kiu Ching Fu and
CUSTOM FRONTLINE director Herman Yau Lai To met with the audience after
the screenings. They agreed that the Thai audience had a certain
understanding of Hong Kong movies, which made this exchange more in-depth.
Wong Tak Bun said, "Thai viewers like and are familiar with Hong Kong
movies. They have watched many old Hong Kong movies." Tak Bun has also
watched Thai movies, and happened to catch up at the event with the actor in the movie he recently watched: NOT FRIENDS' Jump. Some of the the
Thai audience also recognized him, he was a little surprised to be able to
call him by his name. Kiu Ching Fu found that Hong Kong's martial arts
culture had a profound influence on Southeast Asian audiences. Action and
martial arts were common languages, and Thai audiences responded directly
and authentically to this part. There were even Thai viewers who have
read Hong Kong comics and fantasized about whether there would be a movie
that could combine kung fu from different martial arts in one go, and
TWILIGHT made his wish come true.
Yau Lai To felt that the Thai audience was very enthusiastic, and
older viewers would be more familiar with Hong Kong films because many
Hong Kong films were released in Thailand before 2000. Unfortunately,
after the financial crisis fewer film companies bought Hong Kong films.
From then to now, only a few Hong Kong films were released in Thailand; so
this "Hong Kong Film Tour" gave the Thai audience the opportunity to see
Hong Kong films in theaters. He cherished this opportunity very much and
hoped to contribute to this event.
At the sharing session, an audience member asked
Nicholas Tse Ting Fung in CUSTOMS said that he could hold his breath
underwater for four minutes. Was it really feasible in reality? Yau Lai
To said that he conducted the full research when writing the script.
"Ting Fung is very familiar with water. He can really hold his breath
underwater for about 1 minute and a half to 1 minute and 45 seconds. For
ordinary people, holding their breath underwater for 1 minute is already
very difficult. Therefore this action design, in which Ting Fung say that
he can hold his breath for 4 minutes, isn't something that ordinary people
cannot do it; yet it hasn't reached what a top condition expert can do
neither."

Anthony Wong sends his well wishes to his classmate over the internet courtesy of mingpao.com
The 61-year-old actor and action director Chin Siu Ho has become
extremely thin in recent years, causing the outside world to be concerned
about his health. Chin Siu Ho recently had a live broadcast with Yeung YuK
Mui. Although he was thin, he was in good spirits. The two cooked
together, talked and laughed, and even chatted with fans. However,
people online focused on Chin Siu Ho's skinny figure and told him to take
care of himself.
Anthony Wong Chau Sun was also concerned about Chin Siu Ho's
physical condition. He recently posted on social media, "Brother Ka Wa
(Chin Siu Ho's original name was Chin Ka Wa), maybe you can't see my
blessings, but I hope everything is well with you and you are in good
health. I still remember when my boxing training days. Take care of
yourself!" Chn Siu Ho replied to Wong Chau Sun's post. "Actually, Wong
Chau Sun and I have known each other since childhood! We were classmates
and brothers. I went to fight in the ring when I was 14, Chau Sun came over
at 7 AM to give me a comic book about fighting in the ring. It is still
fresh in my memory! We just never talk about it!"
Chin Siu Ho once said that his weight plummeted by 40 pounds from
the peak, and he only weighed 140 pounds. He explained that he was
infected with the novel coronavirus twice and lost his sense of taste. He
was living in a quarantine hotel at the time; because the food did not
suit his appetite, he ate less. His appetite became smaller and his
back trouble recurred, so he got thinner and thinner. He has been actively
looking for ways to gain weight. There were rumors that he had
out-of-control diabetes and whether he had cancer. Chin Siu Ho denied
everything, saying that it was actually he had high cholesterol and blood
pressure, two polyps in the large intestine, Helicobacter pylori infection
in the
stomach, mild glaucoma, etc. His hairstylist has previously discovered
that his scalp had dark spots, so he shaved his head and took tissue
samples for testing. Fortunately, it was just a false alarm.
