Director Wong Jing recently commented on Stephen Chow Sing Chi's character on his online channel, talking about when Chow Sing Chi became a "tyrant on the set" and also revealing the reason why SHAOLIN SOCCER was not released in the mainland. He claimed that Chow Sing Chi took advantage all his could as he demanded investors to sign an unfair contract.
Wong Jing's remarks became a hot topic on the Internet, but Chow Sing Chi has yet to respond. However, some online discovered that Wong Jing has criticized Chow Sing Chi early on. The latter responded in an interview with mainland media. At that time, Chow Sing Chi said calmly, "I never knew that Director Wong Jing knew me so well, but you (reporter) don't have to believe him; he actually doesn't know me very well, I think."
Chow Sing Chi also said, "Money is important, but doing things well is the most important. Money is an added bonus."
