Sammi Cheng shares her experience at a cosmetics brand event

Sammi Cheng Sau Man attended a brand opening event yesterday. Speaking about her recent support for her old freind Andy Lau Tak Wa when she went to see his movie CESIUM FALLOUT (FUN SING), Sammi stated that she must support Wa Jai after not seeing him for a long time. When she saw Wa Jai, she was extremely happy. "We have been friends for more than 20 years. As soon as we meet we get each other." She also knew that Wa Jai was very busy with concerts and promoting movies non-stop. Would she offer herself to be a guest at Wa Jai's Hong Kong concerts? Sammi said with a smile, "He hasn't invite me yet, and I am embarrassed to recommend myself. Many people want to be his guest, and we get it!" She also pointed out that Wa Jai worked very hard for the movie, as a friend she not only cared about his work performance but also his body the most. She hoped that he would be healthy most of all. Wa Jai had several near misses during his concert tour, would she remind him to be more careful? "Accidents are hard to say, but of course I hope he would be creful. However I see that he is in great shape, let's go Wa Jai, let's go CESIUM FALLOUT."

As for when will she work on another movie with Wa Jai, Sammi said that she wanted to too, but she would not collaborate for the sake of collaboration. A good script would be the most important thing. She and Wa Jai have collaborated six or seven times, and their last movie was BLIND DETECTIVE (MAN TAM) many years ago. Whether they would collaborate again would be left for Heaven to decide. Sammi learned from Wa Jai's mouth that he wanted to make a comedy version of CESIUM FALLOUT, but Sammi said that from an actor's perspective she could not understand how the film could be made into a comedy. However she believed that Wa Jai's creative ability was relatively high, and she believed that there were already new ideas in his mind. Sammi herself has not made a comedy for a long time. If there would be a suitable comedy, she would take it. However Sammi has not made a film since she won the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actress in 2023 with LOST LOVE (LAU SHUI LOK FA). Would she feel pressured in selecting scripts? Sammi joked, "There's no pressure, I won it already! It's like some people urging their children to get married; but once they get married, there's no pressure! I wouldn't be more stringent with selecting scripts just to win the award. In fact, scripts have always been thrown at me, but some weren't suitable; I also feel that the role is iffy. I have to choose a good one and feel good about it. Actually I don't have to worry about the script. I can wait as I am in no rush. I am so old already, I can work a little and rest a little; before work begins I can first enjoy the food, after eating I can work out again!"

Sammi said that she has been resting for a while after finishing her concerts. She will be busy next year, but she also wanted to spend time with her family. "Mommy wasn't feeling well earlier and was about to go to the hospital. One day she couldn't walk because she had a bacterial infection in her knee. I think she is learning about nother stage in her life. When se cannot walk well she has to sit in a wheelchair. The elderly has to accept body changes step by step. Luckily mommy is very optimistic. After sitting in a wheelchair she says it feels right, her mentality has been adjusted well. The pressure on children isn't as great." Now she and her family spent more time visiting Mommy, hoping that they can take her out to eat when her health improves. Both Mommy and herself are constantly learning in life.
