The disaster blockbuster CESIUM FALLOUT (FUN SING) was released in Hong Kong the day before yesterday. The cumulative box office of the film on the first day in Hong Kong exceeded HK$ 3.8 million. Aside from first place at the opening box office, the film even became the highest-grossing Hong Kong-made film in the second half of 2024. Performing well in a weak market, the film team was very encouraged. Gardner Tse Kwan Ho, Ivana Wong Yuen Chi, Louise Wong Dan Nei, Dee Ho Kai Wah, Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun, Locker Lam Ka Hei and Natalie Hsu (Hui Yan Yi) formed the audience appreciation vanguard and went to the cinema to thank the audience for their support. Among them, 4 men and Louise even wore white tan tops and firefighting uniforms for their appearance, thorough displaying their muscular curves and full heroics.
The actors also shared their experience of participating in the film. Everyone agreed that due to the huge scale of the production, both the cast and the crew had their own difficulties. Locker remembered when he encountered bad weather. "One day, when the wind and rain blew sideways, even the tent fell over. Everyone united and grabbed a side, even the director Brother Ming (Anthony Pun Yiu Ming) and the boss (producer Bill Kong Chi Keung) helped." Natalie pointed out that the shelter scenes were indispensable in disaster movies. "The art team built a very realistic shelter, so detailed. We filmed all night with more than 300 extras that day. I had to play emotional scenes, so I was afraid that I wouldn't perform well and hinder everyone. However in the end I succeeded." Ivana is very honored to be a part of the production, "The boss and the director thought that this scene was a film about Hong Kong, so they asked for actual location shoots in Hong Kong. I know that the recycling yard consisted of 4 different empty spaces put together, nothing was overlooked with the props and set productions within." Tse Kwan Ho once again thanked the executive producer and producer Kong Chi Keung. "What touched me the most is that in this market, there seemed to be a stupid investor who has put up a lot of money to invest in this film. Ultimately the investment is always more in disaster films than in feature films, and the risk is so big. Only people who love movies would do this, so I hope everyone would go to the movies more to support it!"
Jeffrey showed off his Kirin arms in the new film, and won the screams of the audience. He said that he still has not met the standard, only a third at this stage; he hoped to achieve an 8 pack of abdominal muscles. The film company launched a charity sale of the monthly calendar, and he said that he planned to buy a few more to fill every corner of his home. Ah Dee said that he would buy it for his parents. If the audience responds enthusiastically, his audience appreciation fashion would become more and more daring. He hoped to try wearing the full set of "golden suit" to thank the audience. He also revealed that he has already made room on his schedule for nonstop audience appreciation events. "The condition is really a little like 'roasting chicken wings, I like to eat', if I get to thank viewers I would go. I have discussed with the manager whether I could apply for the Guinness World Record, and in 20 years I could become the 'King of Audience Appreciation'. I would appreciate until I can appreciate no more, using life to trade for the record."
CESIUM FALLOUT (FUN SING) and THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) cooperated to launch 1,000 limited sets of HK$ 120 yuan ticket package, which were sold out within 3 hours. Ah Dee said, "I am so happy! I hope it will stimulate the audience's desire to go to the movies." Speaking of Neo Yau Hawk Sau competing for the Golden Horse Award for Best Actor with the movie THE WAY WE TALK (HONG NGOR GUM TIN JUM MOR SUET), Ah Dee was happy for him and would not deliberately chase after his results. "I can't be too persistent in these opportunities, the most important thing is to take care of your own business. The opportunity will come when it does. Maybe it's because I am older, the mentality is work while I can."
