Mong Kok Newport Cinema opened for its final day yesterday, and the Hong Kong Film Awards Best New Performer nominated deaf actor Marco Ng Tsz Ho joined the movie THE WAY WE TALK (HONG NGOR GUM TIN JUM MOR SUET)'s team including director Adam Wong Sau Ping, Neo Yau Hawk Sau, and child actor Cheng Chun Hei to attend the farewell to the Newport Cinema audience appreciation screening two nights ago. Wong Sau Ping said that Newport Cinema was a Mong Kok landmark and thus made the trip to thank the audience before it closed. He lamented that another theater would close, proving that the times were very hard. In his impression, the first time Yau Hawk Sau went to Newport Cinema was with a female companion to watch LAN KWAI FONG (HEI OI YEH PO) and the closing of the cinema was regrettable. THE WAY WE TALK's box office has exceeded HK$ 10 million. Yau Hwak Sau said that each time he has made a movie his wish was for investors to be able to make their money back. He hoped that the industry would continue to develop healthily. He said that if the box office would exceed HK$ 20 million he would remake girlfriend Jessica Chan Yi Chun's music video to "pay the bill".

The Mong Kok Newport Cinema has been in business for 20 years but earlier announced its closing. Yesterday was its final day of operation. THE WAY WE TALK's director Wong Sau Ping with Yau Hawk Sau, Ng Chi Ho and Cheng Chun Hei two nights ago attended the farewell to Newport Cinema audience appreciation screening. Wong Sau Ping said that Newport Cinema was a Mong Kok landmark, thus he made the trip to thank the audience before its closing. He used to constantly watched movies at Newport and felt this place was very familiar. "The most memorable was that BEAST COP (YEH SAU YING GAING) was shot here. (Anthony) Wong Chau Sun has become the Best Actor with this film."

Wong Sau Ping felt that the rarest part of Newport Cinema was that viewers could enter the cinema without going through the shopping center. This characteristic has already become few in Hong Kong, unfortunately in the end it would still close and prove that the times were very hard. "I remember my previous movie THE WAY WE KEEP DANCING (KONG MO PAI 3)'s audience appreciation, at the time cinema circuits were already closing. Later it came back. I hope that whether is location would later become a cinema or not, people in every industry would strengthen themselves." He admitted that now making a movie was very difficult, but was grateful to see that many viewers were still very supportive on Hong Kong film and like this era's Hong Kong films.

Yau Hawk Sau said that he has seen one or two movies at Newport Cinema, as he remembered the first time was watching LAN KWAI FONG with a girl. Playing Yau Hawk Sau's younger version in THE WAY WE TALK, Cheng Chun Hei joked, "I didn't even know about this Newport Cinema, my knowledge isn't deep." Has he seen LAN KWAI FONG? He joked, "I haven't, I like to go to sleep early." Has he invited his classmates to watch his film THE WAY WE TALK? Cheng Chun Hei said that the school has chartered shows for students to watch. His classmates after watching praised the film as entertaining. When he attended certain events and fans screamed his name, he felt incredible.

THE WAY WE TALK's box office has exceeded HK$ 10 million. Yau Hawk Sau said that each time he made a movie his wish was for the investors to be able to make money. Although he did not know whether the film has done it, he hoped that it would. "This film industry could continue to have healthy development, in particular investors have the intention to invest in such subjects. I want to make a return and even hope that the film could be brought to the mainland and other places overseas releases, and get in touch with even more viewers." He knew that THE WAY WE TALK has had a lot of responses in the mainland and decent reviews. He joked that if the film would surpass HK$ 20 million at the box office he would remake his girlfriend Chan Yin Chun's music video to "pay the bill".

Marco said that he has never been to watch a movie at Newport Cinema before, but he would often pass by. Regarding the closure of another theater, he bluntly said that he felt bad and thought that no place could replace the shocking sound effect of the theater. He also revealed that when he was in elementary school, he tried to go to the theater alone after school, but actually ran into his homeroom teacher and was later given detention for punishment. However he also understood that the teacher's original intention was also out of concern for his safety. As THE WAY WE TALK's box office approached HK$ 12 million, Ng Chi Ho danced during the audience appreciation event to "pay he bill". He joked that he only did two simple moves, but he would dance again when the box office would exceeded 24 million. He even suggested for director Wong Sau Ping dance with him. Wong Sau Ping shook his head and said that he was the least talented in dancing. He only knew how to make dance movies.

The Nick Cheung Ka Fai written, directed and starred new film PEG O' MY HEART (SHOOK MUNG) has become the box office champion for four consecutive days since its release, and its box office has exceeded HK$ 3.3 million as of the day before yesterday. Over the past weekend holiday, Ka Fai led the film's actors Terrance Lau Chun Him, Rebecca Zhu Chen Li, Brian Lee Hoi Yin, Natalie Hsu (Hui Yan Yi), Ben Yuen Fu Wah, Yuen Yee Man and others attended over audience appreciation shows, interacted and shared with the live audience, and even said that they would contact "Choi Sun Keung" and "Dr. Man" to appear at the cinemas as soon as possible. The Ka Fai performed film end credit song I WILL NEVER SLEEP AGAIN has also attracted attention, loyal fans assisted him with his solo concert efforts and took the initiative to check the Hong Kong Coliseum schedule for him!

The box office figures of PEG O' MY HEART have reached HK$ 3,370,754 as of the day before yesterday. Last weekend Ka Fai led the cast to thank the audiences and share their impressions with the audience up close. Seeing the audience's enthusiastic reaction, Ah Him generously gave away benefits and gave warm hugs to lucky fans. During this period some Ka Fai fans held up signs to confess to him: "Diamonds and gold are not as sincere and true as me to Ka Fai." Ka Fai was so pleased that he stepped forward to shake their hands and thank them.

Cheung Ka Fai said that the audience was engaged in watching the film, which was the picture they wanted to see the most. "One viewer watched it twice and overcame the fear of watching a horror film; There was also a couple, the woman left after watching it for a few minutes because she was scared and the boyfriend who watched the whole film made fun of her; there were also viewers who are nervous that they spilled their popcorn, all of which were engaged reactions. This movie is not a scary ghost movie. Only the subject matter has frightening elements, but the degree is not high. I don't want everyone to be frightened and resist watching this kind of movie." He said that he wanted more audiences to enter the theater and see their dedication and sincerity in making this movie. He was very happy to see that some viewers broke through themselves and bought tickets to watch it twice to overcome their demons.

Speaking of the interactive film promotion online was well received and made the role of "Choi Sun Keung" popular. Before the film was released it has already been talked about, as everyone were looking forward to the appearance of "Choi Sun Keng" and "Dr. Man" (the characters of Ka Fai and Lau Chun Him). Ka Fai and Ah Him announced that they have summoned the "two" to appear through relevant people.

The movie has attracted much attention, and he Ka Fai performed end credit song I CAN NEVER FALL ASLEEP has also been burned into everyone's brains. Loyal fans even took the initiative to check the Hong Kong Coliseum schedule for Ka Fai, and found that June still had 9 days available on the schedule. They suggested for Ka Fai to hold a concert, and Zhu Chenli was the first to raise her hand in agreement. Ka Fai said seriously, "I can give it a try, then I should probably practice singing regularly. However My throat have been singing too much lately and have calluses, I need to rest first before I make plans."

The Golden Horse Awards Best Actress Chung Suet Ying and her THE WAY WE TALK (HONG NGOR GUM TIN JUM MOR SUET) co-star Marco Ng Chi Ho attended the inclusive guided tour yesterday. Chung Suet Ying before the event even had intimate contact with the dogs, which led to her allergies acting up. Would she be unable to act with animals? She said, "One or two is not a problem, but today there are 20 some of them and really are too many, haha!"

She revealed that she is still working hard to thank the audience recently. "I know that some friends have watched it more than 5 times, and some of them are watching for the first time. I am very happy that this time so many viewers expressed their feelings and asked questions after watching it." She explained that the film involved three types of deaf people and young people, which might resonate with more audiences.

The Emperor Motion Picture THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) extended version will be released on April 4th on the Ching Ming Festival, with a length of 139 minutes and as many as 12 minutes of never-before-released footage will be presented to the audience. Emperor Motion Pictures announced that the ticket price for the extended version will be HK$80 (certain cinemas excluded, please check cinema websites for details), and part of the proceeds from the extended version will be donated to the charity Tung Wah Group of Hospitals. Commenting on the significance of the extended version release, director Anselm Chan Mou Yin said, "THE LAST DANCE is a testament to the relationship between people and the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals' charitable work that has spared no effort to bring people from different backgrounds in the community closer together. I am particularly pleased to thank the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals for their support and support during the production stage in the form of 'Extending. Reduction'." Lead actress Michelle Wai Sze Nga said, "I remember that at audience appreciation events, the audience friends have been calling for the release of the extended version. In the blink of an eye the director has already prepared this version with more story details and the relationship between the characters. I have learned that part of the box office revenue would be donated to charity, which feels so meaningful. Now there are even more reasons to go to the theaters again!" Actress Catherine Chau Ka Yee said, "During the filming, I visited Tung Wah Coffin Home and International Funeral Parlor and felt that the venues provided a lot of kind help. I think it's a great idea that this extended release will deepen this relationship and extend the relationship between the film and the audience."

In addition, THE LAST DANCE team recently appeared at the iSQUARE Emperor Cinema in Tsim Sha Tsui to enjoy the extended version of THE LAST DANCE for the first time, with the full support of the New Territories General Chamber of Commerce and the Care of Rehabilitated Offenders Association. Emperor Group chief Albert Yeung Sau Sing led actors Tommy Chu Pak Hong, Chau Ka Yee, Elaine Jin (Kam Yin Ling), Kaki Sham, Elly Lam, Polly Lau Yeuk Bo, Kiki Cheung Hoi Kei and others in attendance. As this year's Hong Kong Film Awards Best Supporting Actor favorite, Chu Pak Hong was very popular at the scene. He revealed that he was full of anticipation for the extended version. "In the extended version my character would have even richer relationship with other characters, so I very much look forward to sharing with everyone on the silver screen." Appearing for the first time in the extended version, Kaki was greatly excited. Having worked with director Chan Mou Yin on their film READY O/R KNOT (BUT YUT SING FUN), he said, "I am very honored to appear in director Chan Mou Yin's work again." He was able to fulfill his dream of working with his idol Dayo Wong Tze Wah.

[2025.03.29] HEDWIG TAM FORMS A ROBBERY GANG AND SCARES NEIGHBORS WITH GUNS

Hedwig Tam faces the Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actress nomination with a normal state of mind

Hedwig Tam and Locker Lam are good friends and their collaboration process has been very pleasant
courtesy of on.cc

Hedwig Tam Sin Yin and Locker Lam Ka Hei ganged up to commit crimes and robberies in the new film, and their behavior was crazy. They remembered wearing masks and raised guns to rob in busy streets the most, worried that passers-by would mistake them for real bandits. Lam Ka Hei not only used this film to satisfy his predilection to doing bad things, but also revealed that he would have the opportunity to release music and explore more possibilities.

After winning her first Best Actress award at the 31st Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards, Hedwig Tam Sin Yin was also nominated for the "Best Actress" at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Her acting skills have left no room for doubt. In her new film SMASHING FRANK (DOH POR FAT LAN HAK) she, Locker Lam Ka Hei, Renci Yeung Sze Wing and Kaki Sham played "robbery KOL" roles, robbing the rich and helping the poor. The shoot took place in the heat, but they did not mind running in their jumpsuits despite sweating profusely. The most memorable scene was the robbery and chase scene on the streets around Jordan Road. Ah Tam said, "We wore masks, carried guns and walked around Jordan, and we all swaggered through the city. Passers-by didn't know what was going on when they saw smoke, which frightened them. The visual was very attractive." Ah Tam and Lam Ka Hei (Locker) are old friends in private, so they had special chemistry and even tried to add their own scenes. Locker said, "Once he jumped up, I excitedly grabbed him and turned in circles, and we tried to have a few nonsensical stares with Kaki Sham. Actually we didn't know what we were looking at, but the director still used the shot."

Ah Tam's character was cynical and would do bad things ordinary people would not do. She joked that she was different from the character. As she got older, she has been able to control her temper more and more. Ah Tam's Hong Kong Film Awards nominated film has not yet released, but has been said to be at more of a disadvantage than her opponent. She said that the film company has arranged for industry insiders to have a sneak peek, and humbly said that she was optimistic about every nominated actor and happy for everyone who were nominated.

Locker joked that his acting bug got its fill in the film. "Potentially I have thought about doing bad things, I would rob and carjack in video games. I wouldn't behave that way in reality, but as an actor I can commit crimes and break laws in the film." Locker and COLLAR member girlfriend Marf Yau Yin Tug often collaborate on dance videos and revealed that a musician friend recently proposed for him to release a song, but he denied that he wanted to be a singer.

The 43th Hong Kong Film Awards special issue's "Best New Performer" style photos were revealed. Nominees included Lau Wai Ming, MIRROR member Ian Chan Cheuk Yin, Dylan So Man To, Marco Ng Tsz Ho and Marf Yau Yin Tung, and Marf was the only female candidate. She played the role of a prestigious school student who was born with a stutter and lacked self-confidence in the movie BLOSSOMS UNDER SOMEWHERE (GEI LIU YUT JING GOR CHUNG TIN). Ostensibly an innocent girl in the eyes of the teacher, she in order to get attention secretly sold panties boldly with her friends and thought that she could use this to gain the affection of buyers. For this big screen debut, Marf abandoned the image of a stylish singer in terms of style and personality. Her theme song LUT CUT was also nominated for the "Best Original Film Song" award. With two nominations for her first Hong Kong Film Awards, she has achieved a really rare feat!

Nominated for the "Best New Performer" for the movie LAST SONG FOR YOU (GAU BIT CHUNG FUNG), Ian would also compete for the "Best Original Film Song" with the theme song of the same name of the film sung with Dior Cheng Yi Kin. In the film he and Ekin Cheng played the same role in different periods.

[2025.03.27] SEAN LAU'S COMPLIMENT BRINGS CONFIDENCE BACK TO MICHELLE WAI

Michelle Wai shared her highs and lows over the years in the business

A compliment from Best Actor Sean Lau bring Michelle Wai confidence.
courtesy of on.cc

Winning 6 Best Actress awards with the Emperor Motion Picture THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK), Michelle Wai Sze Nga recently shared her ups and downs in the industry over the past 17 years. She bluntly said that she has once questioned herself when she was at a low ebb, but she has never thought of giving up film. Also because of the praise from elder Sean Lau Ching Wan, she regained her confidence!

Michelle Wai Sze Nga talked about the fact that she has made more than 40 movies, and said frankly that THE LAST DANCE gave her a lot of profound experiences and feelings during the filming process and when she shared it with the audience afterwards. She also mentioned that a granny gave up the idea of suicide because of the movie!

The film THE LAST DANCE ushered in the highlight moment of Michelle's acting journey. Looking back, she bluntly said that she has questioned herself. Fortunately when filming the movie INSANITY (BO FUNG YU) Best Actor Sean Lau Ching Wan praised her to the director. "This girl has great acting." Her confidence then returned! She even made "don't just persevere after seeing hope, you will see hope after you persevere" as her life motto.

Although in the film LAST, she and Michael Hui Koon Man missed each other because they did not know how to express themselves; but in real life, Michelle and her family often talked about love. She mentioned that she once traveled to Japan with her parents. She choked up and said, "Snow was falling that day, it seemed to be so romantic. I wanted to capture a picture of them holding hands from behind, but when I saw their backs I suddenly felt that they looked like older. So I have to properly cherish them."

Just married and became a wife, Michelle said that she does not pay much attention to the sense of ritual, so she is not in a hurry to spend her honeymoon with her husband. "You can go after 10 years if you have the heart." She also bluntly said that she would not refuse to shoot small romantic films, but she would definitely ask his husband for his opinion first. "If a scene involves a bed or nudity, I will definitely ask him for his opinion first because this will directly affect his feelings. I want to respect him first."

[2025.03.27] REAL LIFE PARENTHOOD ADDS CHEMISTRY BETWEEN RAYMOND LAM AND JENNIFER YU

Jennifer Yu and Venus Wong have plenty to talk about.
courtesy of on.cc

Best Actress Jennifer Yu Heung Ying, Raymond Lam Fung and Venus Wong Man Yik starred in the film LIVING TO WIN (MIN SI DUT GUNG DUI) earlier wrapped up production. Jennifer had a lot of feelings about working with the two partners this time, especially since she and Venus have crossed path on THE SECRET DIARY OF A MOM TO BE (BABY FOOK SAU GEI) 6 years ago. Now they have changed from girls to wives. "I am even Mommy to two children, so the change has been drastic. Earlier when I worked with Venus I already felt that she was great, very direct personality. This time in the movie everyone is playing mommy. Although in reality she isn't yet, but because she has babysat her little brother everyone have a lot to talk about. I also think that our performance has more sparkle than before. Venus has a few scenes that are very touching, and I look forward to seeing her performance on the big screen." She also pointed out that when she was filming THE SECRET DIARY OF A MOM TO BE, she sang the theme song with Venus and other leads. She hoped to have the opportunity to sing the theme song of the movie with the others again this time.

As for working with Lam Fung, Jennifer described him as "super nice". "Although I haven't seen him in person many times, only met at some Spring Banquets; but when he arrived at the scene, I really can say we really hit it off and had a lot of chemistry in terms of roles. Maybe because he and I are both parents, we have experienced a lot of what's in the script in reality; so I enjoy interacting with them. He is so famous, but he is still very humble and hardworking. He is well worth learning from. He is the actor and male singer I admire so much, and I hope to grab the tickets of his concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum in May, haha!"

[2025.03.26] TIN KAI MAN: THE FILM INDUSTRY NEEDS TO REFORM AND INNOVATE DURING THE ICE AGE

Ng See Yuen says that losing the overseas market would be the fatal shot to Hong Kong film. If it can expand to the Greater Bay market, the film production rate would in turn increase

Tin Kai Man feels now is not the winter of film industry, but the ice age. It would need reforms and innovations before seeing the light of day

Last year the Hong Kong film total box office has reached a new low. Even with THE LAST DANCE's over Hk$ 149 million, saving the market would be difficult.

THE WAY WE TALK despite good reviews and the Golden Horse Award Best Actress Chung Suet Ying finally exceeds HK$ 10 million after a month in release in Hong Kong, a performance that is less than outstanding.
courtesy of mingpao.com

The president of the Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers Louis Koo Tin Lok said earlier that the film industry has entered a cold winter period this year, and Hong Kong-produced films will be expected to scale back to a terrifying point. Possibly all productions will need government funding before they can be started. Veteran filmmaker Tin Kai Man believed that now is not the cold winter period, but the ice age. "I have been in the industry for 46 years. I have experienced cold winters, but I have never seen an ice age. Now is the most severe time, but not the end of the world. The entire film industry needs to be reformed, including theaters, in order to see the light of day." Ng See Yuen pointed out that opening up the Greater Bay Area would be the way out for Hong Kong films. As long as there would be a market, the number of films will increase, even more outstanding filmmakers will join, and investors will also be bold to invest.

Tin Kai Man said that Hong Kong's film industry was in an ice age, and as a whole needs to be reformed. "From black and white to color films, then to widescreen films, from no 3D to 3D, from film to digital production, etc., they all have been reforms. In cinemas, sound systems and equipment must also be constantly reformed. The future should have new reforms and innovations, because traditional films can no longer attract young audiences to cinemas."

Tin Kai Man said that he has studied the idea of reform with some technicians, hoping to achieve "You must go to the theater to see it, you don't get to see it at home. Even if it would be screened on the streaming platform in the future, the feeling would be different". Only this would be the incentive and motivation to enter the theater, and in the future filmmakers should conceive subjects in this direction and think about how to use this technology. "The technology has been there, and it can be done, but other places have not thought of it. I hope to become the initiator; no longer like in the past when after the completion of foreign reforms, we will follow. Now we need to boldly move forward. (Is reform difficult or not?) It would certainly be difficult, the theater has to spend money to modify the equipment, and there is also more production cost for filming." He said that his reform ideas would be still immature in the experiment, and he does not know whether they are feasible or not, so he has not announced them for the time being.

Speaking of only 20 some Hong Kong-made films were made last year, would there be even fewer this year? Tin Kai Man said that there will be definitely less in the first half of the year, but the second half of the year is unknown. He has asked different film companies, and they have no plans to start production. "Everyone first puts their hopes in the 6 films selected for the First Feature Film Initiative scheme, only a few films will be made in the market. Hopefully there will be more in the second half of the year, but now it is not a question of whether there are any productions. What kind of movies will be made and can be competitive are the keys. As I have said many times, the Hong Kong market now needs high-quality products, not just meeting a quota." Is there a lack of subject matter? He said, "Several things complement each other, people who are filming are now fragmented. They go where the jobs are, not necessarily productions in Hong Kong; now Hong Kong directors are not lacking movies to make. For example (Stephen) Chow Sing Chi is making a movie in Shenzhen, which fails to benefit Hong Kong staff; Lau Ho Lung is also working in Shenzhen. I hope that the success of my reform ideas will lead people back to make movies in Hong Kong."

Now there is a big gap in the box office between movies, some of them have collected more than HK$ 100 million while some of them have ended dismally and lost all their money. Tin Kai Man believed that a successful film will suck up the entire market. "The pie is only so big. When a successful movie attracts a lot of audiences, and those audiences may not watch another movie for a few months. So I think it is necessary to make it a high-quality product now." Has the development of the internet made a big impact? He believed that talking about the influence of the Internet alone was not enough. The whole world is changing, including the young consumer group. Would they be willing to spend two hours to sit in the theater? There are too much to watch, some don't even cost money. That's why I say that now is the ice age and needs reforms. "When it is smooth sailing and the pain isn't as deep, no one would change". However he was still optimistic about the future of Hong Kong films, "When the ice age reaches a certain point, the wave of cinema closures is also near its end. There will always be a way out for Hong Kong films. Now we have to think about what kinds of movies to make to attract an audience. All filmmakers would have to dig deep and the operation and competitive formats needs to change." He believed that it would be necessary to open up more markets. "With Hong Kong as the pioneer of reform, it will naturally be able to open up markets."

Ng See Yuen acknowledged that the film industry is in a cold winter. "I have been talking for a long time about opening up the Greater Bay Area market, because Hong Kong makes relatively small productions except for big scale co-productions, and they are mainly Hong Kong subjects. Hong Kong-made films speak Cantonese, and audiences in the Greater Bay Area know Hong Kong actors and artists, so why not properly distribute films in the Greater Bay Area. If the Greater Bay Area does well, it would at least be equal to one Hong Kong market, or even two Hong Kong markets. So even average productions can break even. You can't just be all talk, you have to do it steadfastly. The Greater Bay Area has cinema circuits, and negotiations would have to be done through the National Film Administration or certain committees in the Greater Bay Area to ensure that every Hong Kong-made film can be screened in the Greater Bay Area. In addition, for each film, the Hong Kong government funds the publicity. If the film is attractive, it can be distributed nationwide. This move can save the current predicament of Hong Kong films. Now when the box office of Hong Kong films reaches HK$ 10 million, everyone seems to be happy. Actually they only get about HK$ 3 million, not enough to even cover the cost!"

Ng See Yuen said that with the Greater Bay Area market, film production rate would naturally increase. Then outstanding new directors and actors would appear, investors would be even more willing to invest, and even more big productions would appear. "Earlier the Executive Deputy Director of the Film Bureau of the Central Propaganda Department Mao Yu came to Hong Kong. We met and he said that there will be CEPA 5, and Hong Kong film companies would be able to shoot in the mainland without co-production and the introduction of film sharing. The first step would e to establish our Greater Bay Area cinema circuit. (Would Hong Kong be saved?) At least it would have one more market, I hope the government and the industry will work together to promote it."

Ng See Yuen said that now is the most difficult time since he entered the industry. "The most difficult thing is that the lack of an overseas market. There used to be Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and South Korea and other markets, but now there is basically none. Because their local production is very good, Hong Kong films are dispensable for them and have become worthless. This is the fatal wound of Hong Kong films. If you find a new market, such as the Greater Bay Area, when done well it is equal to two Hong Kong markets. If Hong Kong receives HK$ 10 million, and the Greater Bay Area receives HK$ 20 million, there will be HK$ 30 million. This is possible."

Would the future of Hong Kong films be optimistic? He said, "Actually Hong Kong can have even more development, such as computer special effects and animation. Because animation does not need a lot of space, it can cultivate a group of animation talents. Animation does not need celebrities, and now it is popular in the mainland, why not create Hong Kong animation. You can walk on a few legs, but you can't keep sinking down!"

The Nick Cheung Ka Fai directed and starred, Terrance Lau Chun Him, Fala Chen, Rebecca Zhu Chenli and other starred movie PEG O' THE HEART (SHOOK MUNG) held its premiere yesterday, a number of actors in the film were present. Ka Fai's godfather Bowie Wu Fung and a number of artists also came to show their support, attracting a large number of fans to fill the shopping mall on several floors with onlookers. At the premiere, the three leads, Fala, Ka Fai and Lau Chun Him even agreed to make this thriller movie into a comedy version. As for Ka Fai's wife Esther Kwan Wing Ho, she also won the hearts of the audience and was praised for her ability to freeze her age. Many viewers are looking forward to her comeback, and Ka Fai also responded to the possibility of husband and wife cooperating to make movies yesterday. His cousin German Cheung Man Kit took part in PEG O' THE HEART but they had no scene together. Yesterday Cheung Man Kit appeared at the premiere and watched the movie with his cousin.

As the lead actress, Fala made a special trip back to Hong Kong for 3 days and 2 nights to attend the premiere. She revealed that she took this role because of her benefactor Claudie Chung Chun. She said that because the two children were still young, she was reluctant to leave for too long. Hence she arrived in Hong Kong the day before, and after attending the premiere she would return to the United States the next day. If the box office would have good results, she would also return to Hong Kong to thank the audience. She also pointed out that she has been looking forward to working with Ka Fai on a movie for a long time. Ka Fai revealed that he personally asked Chung Chun to ask Fala Chen to perform, thanked Fala Chen for returning and described Fala being able to participate in the premiere made the whole event complete. He was even willing to pay for the flight out of his own pocket for Fala's return to Hong Kong, while he and Lau Chun Him would also work hard to go to the cinema to thank the audience.

Ka Fai also said that he was very nervous last night, because he has not seen the final version of the movie. He was looking forward to watching it. Also not having seen the final version, Lau Chun Him said that he was also looking forward to it. Both he and his girlfriend Cecilia Choi Sze Wan have both worked with Ka Fai, the reporter asked him if he would like the three of them to cooperate in a movie? He said that he has worked with his girlfriend many times, and he was worried that the audience would be tired of them working as a couple again. He thought of his girlfriend's comedic sense, making a comedy together would be better and fresher. When Fala heard this she immediately proposed for the original cast to make the comedy version of PEG O' THE HEART, which got everyone very excited. Would Ka Fai want to make a movie with his wife Kwan Wing Ho? Ka Fai said, "Nothing is impossible in this world, but for the time being we have no such idea. I hope to finish what I have on hand first. When something is done, one is more stable. Then one can plan for other things." Speaking of the 60-year- old Kwan Wing Ho being praised online for her ability to freeze her age and look like she was 40 years old, Ka Fai joked: "How could that be! She and I are both several decades old. Maybe she is the same as Fala, because she is beautiful to begin with she is still beautiful even when she is old."

Zhu Chenli has not produced many dramas in TVB in recent years. When asked about her recent status yesterday, she smiled and said that she was "still here" and that she would be joining TVB's new dramas. The company would announce the details. TVB has also relatively rarely started production in recent years. Speaking of many top stars leaving leaving the nest one after another in recent years, would she wants to break out? Zhu Chenli said that the contract with TVB still has some time before its end, but in addition to making the company's dramas she would also participate in the "Internet" performances on multiple platforms in the mainland. They would be good learning opportunities for her. Zhu Chenli also revealed that she sang for the first time in front of thousands when she went to Malaysia earlier, she felt nervous but she intended to be a singer and participate in more movies. Would she wants to develop in music, film, and television? She said bluntly that she wanted to go in all directions. In addition she was asked about the relationship with the second-generation rich Shi Haowei. She only said that she would just go with the flow, has not yet plan to get married, and joked that she was waiting for the arrival of fate; not waiting for the end of the contract.

Natalie Hsu (Hui Yan Yee" revealed that Cheung Ka Fai would appear on the set everyday, dressed like a model on the catwalk. She said, "Seeing my idol like this, I have to dress up a little." She said that earlier when she and Cheung Ka Fai worked on a movie in Malaysia, when he told her the story of PEG O' MY HEART she already felt that it was very attractive. In the film she played an unwed Mama, during the make up test she saw the scars of her arms she was already scared. She said, "I remember on the second day at work, Brother Ka Fai brought me a box of chocolate. He probably was worried that after the first day of work I would be scared off. Actually I have already played an unwed Mama three times, this time probably was the most shocking and most exaggerated."

Nick Cheung Ka Fai appeared at a Temple Street stall the night before (21st) to hold the "Choi Sun Keung Threads Friends Nightmare Sharing Session" for the movie he directed and starred in, PEG O' MY HEART (SHOOK MUNG). The sharing session began to distribute 30 spots at 5 p.m., and already a long line was already outside the stall. The 30 spots were quickly distributed, attracted a large number of onlookers, and about 10 security guards maintained order. Cheung Ka Fai appeared as the character Choi Sun Keung in the film at about 5 and a half. As soon as he sat down he put a box of barbecue pork rice on the table, with chopsticks inserted directly into the rice. His brows were deeply locked, he held his head and listened to the fans share their nightmares and he did not smile when taking a group photo. Coupled with a world-weary look, he refused autograph requests and was very involved in the role. He made the fans laugh.

Due to the overwhelming response, the sharing session was extended to about 40 groups of fans for two hours. Each fan was given a movie ticket. In the end Ka Fai was still very in character when he left the scene, and said in Choi Sun Keung's tired tone, "I am very tired, let's go, I have to work and drive a taxi......last night I have nightmares again and ghosts chasing after me!"

The Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers 2025 Spring Dinner" dinner was held last night with 26 tables, chairman Louis Koo Tin Lok, permanent honorary chairman Ng See Yuen, commissioner and spokesperson Tin Kai Man, director Sunny Chan Wing Sun, Anthony Wong Chau Sun, Louisa So Yuk Wah, Michelle Wai Sze Nga, Louis Cheung Kai Chung, Marf Yau Yin Tung, Tony Wu Tsz Tung, etc. attended. The theme of this year's Spring Dinner is "Keep Rolling", and the Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers Chairman Koo Tin Lok hoped that Hong Kong colleagues will survive the film industry's cold winter together. In the future the Federation would continue to subsidize the industry's film productions, welcome even more young people to join Hong Kong film productions and march forward hand in hand.

The Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers currently comprises 15 professional film associations, and is committed to safeguarding the rights and interests of film workers, promoting communication between the industry, the HKSAR Government and various sectors of the community, and promoting the sustainable development of the Hong Kong film industry. The theme of this year's Spring Dinner is "Keep Rolling", which means that all positions are like partners during the shoot, working hand in hand and helping each other in a challenging environment.

As the chairman of the Federation, Koo Tin Lok said that he served as the guest presenter at the dinner and presented three awards to the behind-the-scenes personnel. He presented the "Outstanding Film Worker Award 2025" to international professional technical consultant Ngai Tin Ming, firearms master Yu Man Biu and production assistant Leung Man for toiling away quietly in the film industry, their rich experience and contribution to the industry. He sentimentally said, "Some elders may have been working in this industry for a long time but have never had the opportunity to win an award. An award to them may be the recognition of the entire show business career. Some award shows only present to the on screen talent, but i personally feel the behind the scene staff also contributed a lot." This year's theme was also to tide over the cold winter of Hong Kong's film industry. Koo Tin Lok said that in addition to the government, the Federation would also subsidize the filming industry, and initially select 10 scripts. He would then conduct interviews with the producer, the director, mainly to assess the candidates' ability to adapt to unexpected situations during filming. "We received around 80 scripts, in the end we chose 10 for interviews. Because many directors are very new and have never made a movie before, at the first meeting I thought they were children who just graduated from secondary school. We had to test their ability to adapt and execute. I feel that more young people have new ideas, which would be a great stimulant for the industry and is also a good thing." He joked that was because he saw the film VALLEY IN THE SHADOW OF DEATH (BUT SEH JI JUI)'s two directors were rather young, but felt that having even more young people and new ideas to join the Hong Kong film industry would be beneficial to the industry. The Keep Rolling project's two movies THE REMNANTS (NGOK YUN DONG DOH) and VALLEY IN THE SHADOW OF DEATH have also production.

Wong Chau Sun along with the Federation's first season Keep Rolling project selection VALLEY IN THE SHADOW OF DEATH team So Yuk Wah, P1X3L member George Au Chun Ho and others attended. He said that he has not yet watched the final cut. "I feel I performed decently, but this time the character was related to religion and I felt it was very difficult. At the beginning I didn't know how to play it. I spent a lot of time chatting with the pastor." He said that because the director was very, on the set they needed to spend some time to get into gear. He praised Au Chun Ho as very hard working and performed pretty well. When he felt that he did not perform well enough, he would take the initiative and ask for another take. He was well worth encouraging.

Wong Chau Sun earlier criticized Tyson Yoshi's new song 1994 music video as "too garbage". He explained that the first reaction was that the song was "garbage", like those "garbage songs" that were haphazardly thrown together to meet the deadline once upon a time. Actually Tyson Yoshi did very well, as it was not his "garbage" but an imitation of these "garbage songs". Thus it ended up to be "garbage". "He didn't need to spend so much money on the shoot, he did too much." If the music video was made into a movie, would he participate if he was invited? He said that he has not thought about it, feeling no role existed in the music video.

Wai Sze Nga said that she was looking forward to having dinner with industry insiders, because a group of colleague would eat lunch boxes on the set normally. She also said that she would take the opportunity to recommend herself to the Federation to sign up for a position, she would be willing even to "do chores", because recently she has been on vacation. The reporter pointed out that since she was newly married, why would she not take advantage of the time to make a baby? She joked that she has been a person for 40 years, but has had no pressure to have children so far because she and her husband have discussed it a long time ago to go with the flow. In addition both have talked adoption and their families have not given them any pressure. (Have you seriously prepared your body for pregnancy?) "No, but every night my husband gives me a lot of supplement to take." As a wife now, would she show what she would wear to the Hong Kong Film Awards next month to her husband? She quipped, "Because I have nothing to see. The same dress could be very sexy on others would become children's clothing on me! However he has offered to attend the award ceremony with me." She also said that she would go to the theater with her husband to watch the extended version of THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK), because the two have not seen it yet.

Edward Chui Woei Dong was revealed to be in love with Eileen Yiu Tsz Ling earlier. They were still getting to know each other, and he admitted that the relationship at this stage was "more than friends, but not fully lovers". He hoped for further development, appreciated her kindness, serious work attitude, very good to people and friends, and very caring for small animals. The other half he has been looking forward would be such a person. What was missing from them being a couple? "I am thinking about this myself. Everyone can give me some suggestions on how to get the girl. I am not strong in this area." Speaking of Yiu Tsz Ling's generosity in talking about the relationship between the two, he smiled and said, "I stand up bravely too!" He said that they met while working on JUSTICE SUNG BEGINS in Hengdian. Everyone had a lot of fun and the group would occasionally go out for dinner!

Marf Yau Yin Tung and her boyfriend Locker Lam Ka Hei were both present but declined to take a photo together. Marf said that it would be more meaningful to wait for the two to have a collaborative work. "Only this would be a very valuable photo together. (Would you mind working as a couple?) Of course not, I hope that our collaboration would be very challenging and I really like science fiction stuff. If someone happens to appreciate us, I would be rather glad." Referring to the fact that her manager Dai Wing was exposed to being in a relationship with Edward Ma Chi Wai. Marf joked, "Tonight my artist is doing the interview! I admire Ma Chi Wai very much, plus he plays soccer with Locker so we would see each other often. However their relationship has nothing to do with me, because they have known each other for a long time."
