Ian Chan's black and white look is rather cool as the 5 Hong Kong Film Awards Best New Performers nominees' photos are unveiled courtesy of singtao.com |
The 43th Hong Kong Film Awards special issue's "Best New Performer" style photos were revealed. Nominees included Lau Wai Ming, MIRROR member Ian Chan Cheuk Yin, Dylan So Man To, Marco Ng Tsz Ho and Marf Yau Yin Tung, and Marf was the only female candidate. She played the role of a prestigious school student who was born with a stutter and lacked self-confidence in the movie BLOSSOMS UNDER SOMEWHERE (GEI LIU YUT JING GOR CHUNG TIN). Ostensibly an innocent girl in the eyes of the teacher, she in order to get attention secretly sold panties boldly with her friends and thought that she could use this to gain the affection of buyers. For this big screen debut, Marf abandoned the image of a stylish singer in terms of style and personality. Her theme song LUT CUT was also nominated for the "Best Original Film Song" award. With two nominations for her first Hong Kong Film Awards, she has achieved a really rare feat!
Nominated for the "Best New Performer" for the movie LAST SONG FOR YOU (GAU BIT CHUNG FUNG), Ian would also compete for the "Best Original Film Song" with the theme song of the same name of the film sung with Dior Cheng Yi Kin. In the film he and Ekin Cheng played the same role in different periods.
