The Hong Kong Motion Picture Industry Association and the Hong Kong Theatres Association's affiliate Hong Kong Box Office Co. Ltd. yesterday announced the 2019 Summer Vacation slot film box office. Among Chinese and foreign films that were in release between July 1st and August 31st, the top three films were all foreign films. The animation TOY STORY 4 made over HK$ 88.01 million to become this year's summer vacation box office champion. In second place was SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME with over HK$ 54.24 million. In third place was the animation THE LION KING with over HK$ 37.84 million.
As for Chinese films, the only ones in the top ten at the summer vacation box office were WHITE STORM 2 DRUG LORDS (SO DUK 2 TIN DEI DUI KUET) and LINE WALKER 2 (SI TOH HUNG JEH 2 DIP YING HUNG DONG). The former made over HK$ 24.81 million in fifth place and the latter made HK$ 9.25 million in tenth place.
