Recently a video of the 66 years ago Liu Kai Chi selling clothes as a street vendor went viral in the Mainland internet. On camera the crew could be obviously seen while preparing for production, however some media outlets reported that Uncle Chi "sells clothes on the streets to make a living", "reduced to set up shop on the streets and dine on rice box......", and "Liu Kai Chi is in despair, life is very difficult."

Uncle Chi's Love and Peace Entertainment yesterday issued a public statement. "Recently there have been reports on TikTok and some media platform that this company's artist Mr. Liu Kai Chi has fallen into selling clothes on the streets to make a living. The company hereby declares that this is a movies still and video from the filming. From the footage, we can also see that there is a film crew at work nearby! It is unethical to disseminate information indiscriminately without verifying the content. The company will reserve the right to take action against fake news." The related video was shot while Uncle Liu was working on location for the film LADIES' MARKET (JOI GEIN NUI YUN GAI), which has not been scheduled for a release yet.
