The Emperor Motion Picture THE LAST DANCE (POR DEI YUK) is Anselm Chan Mou Yin directed and written, Dayo Wong Tsz Wah, Michael Hui Koon Man, Michelle Wai Sze Nga, Chu Pak Hong, Catherine Chau Ka Yee, Paul Chun Pui, Elaine Jin (Kam Yin Ling), Rachel Leung Yung Ting, Rosa Velasco (Wai Law Sha), and Chung Suet Ying starred. Among them, Hui Koon Man and Wong Tsz Wah collaborated again 32 years after THE MAGIC TOUCH (SUN SUEN) to make the first movie in the Hong Kong film industry with the funeral industry as its subject. Yesterday (20th), the film's teaser poster was released first at the 77th Cannes Film Festival to promote this Hong Kong-made film with a unique subject and a strong cast to Hong Kong and global audiences.

The gathering of two superstars, Wong Tsz Wah and Hui Koon Man, has turned THE LAST DANCE into a hot topic on the eve of its production start. The film locked onto the 77th Cannes Film Festival to distribute two teaser posters, heavily mysterious as only the backs of the two actors could be seen. Wong Tsz Wah admitted that THE LAST DANCE was completely different from his previous films, definitely a new challenge; Tsz Wah said, "When director Chan Mou Yin showed me the outline of this movie, I instantly felt like I found buried treasure. I've always been wondering, what is unique about Hong Kong that is worthy of us telling the world about? I have found that our funeral industry is unique to the world, wherever we are there is a place for it. This time with Hong Kong's unique funeral industry to interpret a solemn subject. I couldn't agree fast enough!" On the rare occasion that two master class comedy stars collaborate, THE LAST DANCE actually would not be a comedy? Tsz Wah personally solved the mystery, "I think everyone should be mentally prepared, the movie has a solemn component; it won't be about the audience going in and casually have a good time, 'hahahaha' and the movie ends. THE LAST DANCE might bring some changes to your life, just as Michael and I have changed some of our views on life because of this movie. I feel that I am more tolerant after the shoot; and I believe that after watching it, everyone will be more tolerant and open-minded than before."

Michael, who has been a writer and director for many years, has always taken his film career seriously and had strict requirements for each script, Michael said that THE LAST DANCE was the good script that he has been looking forward to for a long time: "After making this film, I have a lot of life experience, I am wider and happier, and the world is more beautiful!" As the first film in Hong Kong to focus on the funeral industry, Michael described the theme of THE LAST DANCE as fitting for him, "I have a dream to be able to participate in a movie that isn't for any certain individual market, without the shadow of East and West; and the story is so authentic that it fully reflects Hong Kong's characteristics, but audiences all over the world would enjoy it. As long as you have thought about the issue of life and death, you would have an understanding after watching the movie; then you would feel that life has meaning. In addition, Soi Cheang Pou Soi won the Best Director at the Hong Kong Film Awards this year for MAD FATE (MING ONG), and the recently released TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING) also won word-of-mouth and a bumper box office harvest. Yesterday, Cheang Pou Soi was announced to direct THE SEA BATTLE OF PENGHU, which Du Jiayi would produce. The film first release the "based on history poster, in which huge naval ship stood in the center of the poster that was full of tension. Behind it was countless naval fleets waiting in the wings.

Reportedly the movie would be based on the real historical event of "In the Twenty-second Year of Kangxi, Shi Yao Led the Fujian Sailors to Unify Taiwan", and gather powerful actors and behind-the-scenes creators to participate.
