The Lunar New Year film 72 TENANTS OF PROSPERITY (72 GA JO HAT) has become this Lunar New Year's box office champion. Yesterday its total box office exceeded 32 million. Director Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum) led actors Wong Cho Nam, Tracy Ip Chui Chui, Kayi Cheung, Koni Lui Wai Yi and others to thank viewers at four Kowloon cinemas. When the actors walked to Mongkok Broadway Cinema, they attracted many onlookers as it was the end of the work day. TVB executive Tsang Sing Ming expressed that the film's success has caught international media attention as France's TV5 Monde sent a team to cover the newly completed Shaw film city for an Asia Pacific film kingdom special. The film's producer Eric Tsang Chi Wai will be interviewed.

Yesterday a report claimed that Mainland northern and southern viewers got into a war of words due to audience taste difference. Tsang Sing Ming pointed out that the film initially was mainly an authentic Hong Kong film, the taste difference between the North and the South was also normal. In addition, Wong Cho Nam expressed that with the French television station visit, the cast actually can promote Hong Kong as travel ambassadors. He expressed that Tsang Chi Wai earlier promised that if the box office exceeded 30 million he would take everyone to Hokkaido. Now since a French television station was visiting, they might be better off going to France.
