The Kiwi Chow directed film BEYOND THE DREAM held its premiere last night. His fellow TEN YEARS directors (left: Wong Fei Pang, Zune Kwok, producer Choi Lim Ming, Kiwi Chow, Ng Ka Leung and Jevons Au) show their support.

One of the film TEN YEAR's directors Kiwi Chow Koon Wai
attended the premiere of his new film BEYOND THE DREAM (WAN OI) last
night. Aside from leads Terrance Lau Chun Him and Cecilia Choi Sze Wan's
appearance as a couple, the other 4 directors of TEN YEARS Zune Kwok
Chun, Wong Fei Pang, Jevons Au Man Kit and Ng Ka Leung showed their
support as well.
Chow Koon Wai said that the TEN YEARS team have not gotten
together for a very long time. Over the past 5 years they were working
hard in different places. "I am very touched that everyone came to
support me. I hope in the future we will work together again and
continue to toil in the film industry." Speaking of the Hong Kong
Region National Security Law, Chow Koon Wai lamented, "I don't know,
like many front line brethren say, we have to cherish each and every time
we see each other because it may be the last time. It seems very
sad, but I would rather cherish every moment of seeing each other. I
don't hope to be occupied by fear. I hope that we correctly choose to
control the future." Producer Choi Lim Ming also believed that everyone
would get together again and work together, continuing to demonstrate
the power of film. Was he worried that the legislation would affect
creativity after becoming a law? Chow Koon Wai said, "The environment
is beyond our control, affecting our creativity is only our hearts. We
won't forget our original intent!"
Lau Chun Him and Choi Sze Wan was no worried that their stardom
would be affected due to making a film by TEN YEARS' director. Because
BEYOND THE DREAM was a romance, the subjects had nothing to do with each
other at all. They with the film won the Hong Kong Film Critic Society
Best Actor and Best Actress. Lau Chun Him said that the offers have not
increased as a result of it because many films have not resumed
production. Choi Sze Wan said that Mommy saw that she has made some
achievement and was much more at ease. They would not reject making
money as a couple. He suggested that they could play rivals or work
together on a comedy. "Actually privately she is very funny, she likes
to run around, jump around and can't sit still."
At age 17 Constance Cheng got into the business with a TVB new star competition, then transitioned to the film industry and made category III films

90's erotic star Constance Cheng Yim Lai recently revealed
that she had bulimia as her weight dropped under 100 pounds. She fainted
twice in less than two weeks and was once sent to the ICU. She posted on
social media, "Let me explain my condition to everyone. I have an eating
disorder. It's not the eating disorder of disliking eating but the
eating disorder to reject food from the body. My body had no nutrient and
had no way to absorb nutrient because I would vomit whatever I ate. Why
did it get so severe that I was admitted to the ICU? The potassium
level was super low in body, just 1 when a normal person should have 4
to 6. Why would I tell everyone about this? In case I am no longer
around, my friends and fans would know about my condition and not from
reading whatever the newspapers make up. Then I would be at peace!"
Cheng Yim Lai also posted many photos from the hospital, saying
that earlier she has been transferred to a regular room. Her friend
Cheung Jing visited her and brought her a lot of stuff. She also treated
her to Hainan chicken and rice that was very delicious. She did a CT
scan before but the report was not out yet. She also had to wait for
a endocrine specialist to see her. The doctor said that she would not
be released before her potassium index returned to normal, but she did
not want to have any more blood drawn. The needle marks that the
process left were bruised, swollen and itchy.
As the pandemic eased, cinephiles returned to the cinemas
anew. The Carlos Chan Ka Lok and Kathy Yuen (Tong Yee) starred Emperor
Motion Picture LEGALLY DECLARED DEAD (SEI YUN MO HOR YI) was recently
released. The response was better than expected. Since opening last
Thursday it has made over HK$ 2.7 million at the box office. The cast
and the crew would not be more excited. Ka Lok said, "I know that
cinemas still had to isolate seats and many had discounts to attract
customers. In other words, actually our movie should already have HK$
4 million at the box office. It is a very encouraging number." He
admitted that despite how weak the economy was, his friends still bought
tickets instead of using coupons to show their support. He was rather
moved.
Tong Yee also responded, "I truly was very happy to hear this
news. Actually it's not just me, even when my Mommy went for tea she
heard the neighbors talked about this movie. Originally she didn't
watch suspense horror films, now she says that she wants to support me at
the movies. I told her, 'That's right, you go and see how people
torture your daughter.'"
Cecilia Choi Sze Wan and Terrance Lau Chun Him due to the
film BEYOND THE DREAM (WAN OI) fell in low. They talked about each
other's positive points on Hong Kong Open Television. Choi Sze Wan
mentioned that top three qualities of popular men were like to exercise,
smart and humorous. Her boyfriend Lau Chun Him had all three. Lau Chun
Him also praised girlfriend Choi Sze Wan as very kind, which was the
positive point that attracted him the most.
They also had great chemistry. When asked whether they would
value sense of security or fun more on dates. They both chose sense of
security. Lau Chun Him said, "A sense of security is very important to
an enduring relationship!" Choi Sze Wan agreed, "Because after dating
awhile, naturally the other half would not feel as fresh. Thus fun
isn't the most important in a relationship!" Speaking of falling in love
in the film and in life, they both said that they never expected to.
After dragging on for a few months, G STORM finally wraps up production
courtesy of singtao.com
The David Lam Tak Luk directed, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Julian
Cheung Chi Lam, Kevin Cheng Ka Wing, Bosco Wong Chung Chak and Jessica
Hester Hsuan (Suen Huen) starred film G STORM (G FUNG BO) wrapped up
production earlier. The team posted photos from the wrap on the official
page. Lam Tak Luk, Koo Tin Lok and Janelle Sing (Anika Xia Yan) opened
bottles of champagne to celebrate and thank the crew for their effort.
G STORM originally needed to shoot two major scenes after the Lunar New
year, including an international conference and large scale gun battle
overseas in Southeast Asia, but due to the pandemic the production had to
remain in Hong Kong. The production only wrapped up successfully
recently.

Pakho Chau has always loved basketball, his shooting skill is not bad
courtesy of singtao.com
Alex Fong Lik Sun, Pakho Chau, Hubert Wu Hung Kwan, Jay
Fung Won Him and Chloe So Ho Yi yesterday attended a basketball game in
Kowloon Bay. Avid swimmer Siu Fong was not as great at basketball, but
he once formed a team with Louis Cheung Kai Chung and others for ten
years and competed at many schools. His swimming school will open again
in July, but due to the pandemic he suffered severe losses. He could
only apply for government financial assistance and loan.
Siu Fong said that due to the pandemic his workload since January
has been very light and he could count his jobs in two hands. Recently
he was very happy to be able to take part in the pandemic relief film
JUNG SI YAU OI JOI GAK LEI (THERE'S ALWAYS LOVE IN QUARANTINE), but he
revealed that he was aching all over from the shoot. "Chin Kar Lok
arranged for some stunts for me. I shot for three days, one day was
the dramatic scenes and two days the action scenes. After the shoot I
was in pain for three days, but I was very happy to have scenes with
(Louis) Koo Tin Lok."
As for rumors that former girlfriend Stephy Tang Lai Yun and
boyfriend Prince Chiu's relationship has faded and he rekindled the flame
with her, Siu Fong denied it. "I am really not nosy. I don't know
why such news would come out, making something out of nothing. Maybe
someone has a new movie out. (You pay a lot of attention to Stephy.)
Although I have a lot of identities, my real identity is a entertainment
person." He stated that he has seen Stephy's new film because he was a
Hong Kong Film Award voter. Did they have any contact? He said that
they had very little contact, stressing that he did not know about her
relationship. Did he meet any girl with so much time during the
pandemic? He complained, "No, I am very disappointed!"
The Steve Yuen Kim Wai directed film LEGALLY DECLARED
DEAD (SEI YUN MO HOR YI) yesterday opened. With the earlier advanced
screenings, the opening day cumulative box office rapidly passed the HK$
1 million mark and injected a shot of confidence into Hong Kong film.
Over the first four days of the opening, the director and actors will
appear at cinemas to thank the audience for their support.
Kathy Yuen (Tong Yee) in the film made a breakthrough with the
portrayal of a hipster goddess. She played a psychology teaching
assistant, whose personality was very down to earth and different from
her past image. She said, "I used to play mostly innocent good girls,
this time the character is more the hipster type. She would
occasionally throw a tantrum at her boyfriend, a little sassy and
stubborn." In order to get into the character more, Tong Yee not only
read psychology books but several months before the production began
she communicated with director Yuen Kim Wai continuously. She explained,
"It was like going to class for me and Ka Lok, listening to the
director's analysis of the characters. Then we would talk about our
views of each scene, truly achieving the goal of the exchange and also
becoming fully prepared for the performance."
Playing a couple for the first time with Carlos Chan Ka Lok, Tong
Yi had a daring bed scene. It could be considered the biggest
breakthrough of her film career. She felt that actually the standard
was not too exaggerated. She rarely made intimate scenes and the
co-star was Ka Lok, since she knew him well she did not need to worry
too much. They did not need to communicate about what they would do
either, where they could touch and where they should avoid. Because
they were so familiar, Tong Yee complained that Ka Lok did not brush his
teeth or remember to shave before taking his mark. His stubble caused
her great discomfort. She admitted that she trusted director Yuen Kim
Wai absolutely as well, thus she did not care too much about the issue
of standard. As for whether she would have even more breakthrough
performance in the future, she said that it would depend on the
screenplay, the director and the co-star.
The Irene Wan Bik Ha and Peter Mak Tak Wo starred classic
film LONELY FIFTEEN (LEN MUI JAI) opened in 1982. 38 years later it
was released in Hong Kong again. A VIP screening took place two nights
ago. The film brought back a lot of memories for the two leads. Robert
Mak Tak Law also appeared to support his brother Mak Tak Wo.
LONELY FIFTEEN (LEN MUI JAI) was Irene's first film. She
recalled that she was 15 at the time and still underage, her most
rebellious period. Her parents were very strict. When she moved out
during the secondary school she wanted to come in contact with this
colorful world and freedom. She did not expect to be discovered by a
talent scout on the street and thus began her performing artist life.
Looking back at this film from 38 years ago, Irene admitted that she
was very sentimental. "This film changed my life. Since then I fell in
love with acting. I also turned nice, hoped to focus on acting. At the
time my family was very poor, I wanted to get out into the world sooner
and work to help the family. Everything seemed to be destined in
Heaven."
Would she remake LONELY FIFTEEN as a producer? She said, "I
never thought about it, the movie is too classic and would be very hard
to surpass. I remember the girls were newcomers at the time, the
production method was very daring. Many scenes were shot in secret like
jumping in front of the MTR and stopping traffic in the Cross Harbor
Tunnel, if discovered we would be driven away. However the resulting
shots were very realistic. Back then it made over HK$ 10 million at the
box office and received several award nominations. It was a good
beginning. (Would there be any box office pressure with the re-release?)
No, now many old movies are released again. This time I mainly want to
support the director and the re-release of my first movie."
She no longer had contact with the actresses in the film, after
the film they scattered all over. She said, "It was very regrettable,
when I found out one of the actresses Yip Suen already joined a nunnery
I was very shocked. However I would support her decision." She also
said that her husband has not seen LONELY FIFTEEN, he was probably
overseas at the time.
Irene was the happiest about seeing many old friends this time.
She also said that Mak Tak Wo was just as bashful as before. The girls
would play tricks on him until his face turned red. Mak Tak Wo said,
"Boys and girls before were innocent, their faces would turn red from
touching hands."
Karena Lam says that the audience feels she is perfect, but actually she has other yet to be discovered potential
Karena Lam says that her husband is crazy, but she gladly accepts the challenge and goes crazy with him courtesy of singtao.com
Karena Lam Ka Yun after HEAVEN IN THE DARK (UM SIK TIN
DONG) again worked with husband Steve Yuen Kim Wai in the Emperor Motion
Picture LEGALLY DECLARED DEAD (SEI YUN MO HOR YI) as the lead actress.
The performance is a breakthrough and the costume outstanding, leaving
viewers shivering. As for working with her husband again, Ka Yun said
that her husband is crazy enough to ask her to play this alternative
character and shatter others' perfect image of her. She also gladly
accepts the challenge and jokes that everyone can go crazy together.
Lam Ka Yun and Anthony Wong Chau Sun in the Emperor Motion
Picture LEGALLY DECLARED DEAD both have breakthrough performance that
is different from the audience's image of them. Ka Yun in order to
bring to life this sloppy and chubby middle age woman made a lot of
preparation before hand. Aside from studying acting she also gained a
dozen pounds or so. "I tried to wear a fake belly, but the result
wasn't great. The director told me to sacrifice a little and gained a
dozen pounds or so. Actually gaining weight is very easy, as long as
you have late night snacks every night you can see results in a month.
I gained a dozen pounds and didn't dye my hair for 3 months. My white
hair is all true. In addition the character has amblyopia. I had to
wear a special made contact lens that was bigger than a HK$ 5 coin.
The optometrist originally limited wearing it for only 4 hours, but
putting in it and taking it off during the shoot would be rather
troublesome. During the shoot I wouldn't remove it. Because people
with amblyopia sees things differently from ordinary people. Before
hand at home I would do eyeball exercises. The character isn't fully
mobile. I tied a 5 pound weight to my calf. I wanted the body to
remember the reaction, in everyday life I would practice repeatedly so
it would be natural during the shoot. My daughter saw that I kept
practicing with my left eye and limping when I walked, she knew that I
was getting ready for the character."
After HEAVEN IN THE DARK, Lam Ka Yun worked with her husband
again. She stated that when her husband asked her to perform she thought
it was incredible. "The director really is very crazy. He said that
when he wrote HEAVEN IN THE DARK he thought of me because the character
was naive and stubborn, which I understood. However he couldn't have
possibly think of me with LEGALLY DECLARED DEAD's Shum Chi Ling? I work
very hard to be a good Mama and a good wife. I asked him why, he said
that he wanted to shatter other people's perfect image of me because
everyone thought it was very perfect. However actually I still had a lot
yet to be discovered. Since he was crazy enough to ask me to perform, I
had the courage to accept it. Many actors want a breakthrough
performance, but may not have any suitable opportunity. I just happen
to have this chance, I would gladly accept it. Let's all go crazy."
Speaking of husband Yuen Kim Wai, Ka Yun had nothing but praise
for him. She said that on the set they never argued. "I have been
acting for many years. No matter who is the director he is always the
soul figure. I can't cross the line, even if the director is my husband
it is the same. If I have any opinion I would bring it up before the
shoot begins, after the shoot begins I wouldn't talk about it anymore.
I would focus on doing my job. (Would you give him any suggestion?)
Every time I make a movie I would constantly dream of the story, as soon
as I do I would immediately tell him. He would put some of the dream
into the story. (Do dreams mean you have stress?) I definitely would
have stress, if I work steadily I would have no new excitement or new
experience. I discover that I have to keep being stimulated to think,
otherwise I would be numb." Would they keep working together? Ka Yun
said that her husband is planning a new film, which finally would have
nothing to do with her. She said, "A director has to work with different
substance actors to have new excitement. He and I have natural
chemistry, which isn't great. It would spoil him. I feel he has to
work with different actors in order to improve more and more."

The actress Michelle Wai Sze Nga starred romance LOST AND
FOUND IN TOKYO (SHOOK NUI OI MAN YAU) postponed its release due to the
pandemic from April to mid June. Brokenhearted in the film, Wai Sze Nga
went to recover in Japan and admitted that it happened to her before.
"When I went on vacation by myself several times they were all because
of bad breakups. I went to Taiwan and Korea. I was forgotten and after
a week was better. Because when a girl travels alone she has a lot to
worry about and take care of, you have no time to think too much. You
can say that at the moment of getting off the plane I was already fine,
traveling alone to cure heartbreak truly is effective."
Carrying 80% of the film alone, Wai Sze nga had over 20
colorful looks. At first the costume fitting took two days. During
the shoot she changed so many times she grew tired of it, luckily the
result was worth the effort to her. While shooting in Japan, Wai Sze
Nga was the happiest about the nonstop delicacy feast as if she truly
went on vacation. She said, "I kept eating at work, the team was afraid
that I would get cold and kept giving me hot chocolate. I got fat, when I
returned to Hong Kong for another film I lost continuity, haha!"
Aside from on screen work, Wai Sze Nga earlier also participated
in screenplay creation. She even has the support of Emperor boss Albert
Yeung Sau Sing's production start. Under the pandemic she hoped that it
would happen this year. Since she was busy both on and off screen, would
she not have time to get married? She said, "This isn't up to you. When
I run into it I wouldn't resist, but I wouldn't force anything either."

The Hong Kong film industry was severely impacted by the
novel coronavirus, as the production rate was almost zero. Many film
workers did not eat if they did not work. The Hong Kong Performing
Artists Guild and the Federation of Hong Kong Film Workers earlier called
for and received donations from 10 Hong Kong film companies and others
for film basic level people pandemic relief. Early this month many
colleagues have already received the money.
In order to thank those who contributed to the pandemic relief
effort, PAG president Louis Koo Tin Lok and director Andrew Lau Wai Keung
earlier held a banquet to treat this group of behind the scene

The film LEGALLY DECLARED DEAD (SEI YUN MO HOR YI) two
nights ago held a premiere. Boss Albert Yeung Sau Sing, actors Carlos
Chan Ka Lok, Catherine Chau Ka Yee, Kathy Yuen (Tong Yee) and Liu Kai Chi
attended. Michelle Wai Sze Nga and Keung To also showed their support.
Ka Lok earlier had to stop working due to the pandemic. Instead during
the period he found his passion for work again and the direction became
even clearer. As for major life events, Ka Lok who was recently rumored
to be in love with Shiga Lin admitted that he has been saving for a
wedding, hoping to be able to fulfill his marriage plan!
Chan Ka Lok said that since his Lunar New Year film premiere has
not gone to the cinema for almost half a year. He truly got sentimental.
"It was early during the pandemic then, when I came to the cinema I had
to wear a mask and be completely disinfected. The atmosphere was very
tense. Although now the 'gathering restriction order' was still in
place, everyone felt much better. A few days earlier when I came to the
cinema for audience appreciation, everyone was very happy and got into
it." During the pandemic, Ka Lok stopped working and was able to get
some rest. Earlier he only had his mind on work and lost himself. Was
the biggest gain during the half year of suspension getting Shiga Lin?
His face turned red as he said, "I found the passion for work again,
the direction is clear!" Did he have to save for the wedding? He
said, "I have always had savings, for the major life event I hope in
the future to be able to fulfill it!"
Tong Yee also said that she has not been to the movies in several
months. Friends went to the advanced screenings and said that normally
"disconnected", reserved and rarely expressed too much emotion she
finally performed very large mood swing in the film. She said that this
time she played a spoiled girl and she was very happy that others had
a different view of her. What kind of girls would Ka Lok like? He said
that as long as he likes her he likes any and all type. Did he invite
girlfriend Shiga Lin? He avoided the subject and only said that he
invited many friends. Even if they were unable to attend he would
recommend them to buy tickets and go on their own. However he said that
earlier he had a few nights that he was able to eat at home, he was able
to see his girlfriend's series. In particular he saw the very touching
performance between Frankie Lam Man Lung and his on screen daughter and
he even cried. Unfortunately he missed Shiga Lin and Priscilla Wong Chui
Yu's moving on screen sisters performance.
Chau Ka Yee was asked about returning home to TVB as the leading
