Simon Yam Tat Wa and his wife Qi Qi yesterday attended an event at the Asia Expo with Kenny Bee (Chung Chun To). Brother B was a guest performer, but the event did not arrange for Brother B to speak to the media.
Yam Tat Wa said that he was happy to see the market return to normal, hoping to see people around the world to visit Hong Kong. He would also welcome foreign films to shoot on location in Hong Kong, which would be able to motivate Hong Kong's economy. He described the charm of Hong Kong as irreplaceable. Speaking of his film A LIGHT NEVER GOES OUT (DUN FOR LAN SHAN)'s co-star Sylvia Chang was nominated for the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress, Yam Tat Wa praised Sylvia Chang for her great performance. He was confident that she would win. "In the film my role is very small, mainly it was to help a new comer." Seeing recently many Hong Kong films have performed ideally at the box office, Yam Tat Wa felt that it was a good thing. It proved that the Hong Kong film and market was still thriving. His good friend Mabel Cheung Yuen Ting directed documentary film has caused controversy as it has suspended its release and withdrawn from the Hong Kong Film Award Best Film competition. Yam Tat Wa said that he just returned to Hong Kong from overseas and has not seen the film yet. He was uncertain about the matter and thus declined to comment.
