Vincent Kok Tak Chiu's older sister, veteran film
producer Linda Lam Kuk Mei Lai earlier passed away in her sleep at age
72. Yesterday her family began services for her at the Hong Kong
Funeral Parlor with a Catholic ceremony. The hall was decorated in
white with a "Forever Missed" banner across the top. At the center of
Lam Kuk Mei Lai's husband Lam Kwing Chee's pink heart shaped wreath,
with daughters' wreaths on both sides. The monitors played many
photos, including photos of her wedding, family, and everyday life,
reliving the life of Lam Kuk Mei Lai with family and friends. Her
photos with many friends in the business like Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing,
Cherie Chung Chor Hung, Chow Yun Fat, Maggie Cheung Man Yuk, Louis Koo
Tin Lok, and Simon Yam Tat Wah were included as well.
Lam Kuk Mei Lai had good connections with people in life. Chow

of flowers appeared outside the hall.
Kok Tak Chiu arrived around 4:30 PM with girlfriend Kiki Lam
Tsz Huen, niece Jo Koo (Kuk Cho Lam) and several family members in
vehicles. They stopped for photos at the media's request but declined
any interview. Kok Tak Chiu simply thanked the media on behalf of the
family. Many in the industry paid their respect. Nansun Shi entered
with a cane and help from others. Peter Chan ho Sun and his wife
Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, Teresa Mo Shun Kwan and her husband Au Ting Ping,

at the funeral parlor. Chung Chor Hung smiled and waved at the cameras
but did not speak to the press. While waiting for the elevator she
appeared saddened as she lightly wiped away her tears. Tsang Chi Wai
arrived alone with a solemn look.
Tin Kai Man recalled meeting Lam Kuk Mei Lai while working
at RTV. Later when she joined the film industry, they met again
during the Cinema City era and have known each other for several
decades. He praised Lam Kuk Mei Lai as a great person, helping younger
generations without any doubt. Tin Kai Man has not heard of her having
any illness or pain. When he received the news of Lam Kuk Mei Lai's
passing he was shocked and saddened. "Fortunately I learned that she
passed away peacefully, without any pain. I have not seen her in
awhile." Around 8PM after the ceremony, everyone gradually left.
Chung Chor Hung's eyes and nose were all red from crying as she left
in a vehicle with Chung Chun. Nancy Sit Ka Yin stayed for around 20
minutes and her eyes were swollen from crying as well.
