Ling Man Lung, Renci Yeung Sze Wing, Peter Chan Charm Man, Ronald Lam Tsz Kit, and Kenny Wong Tak Bun starred together in the absurd comedy film UNIDENTIFIED MURDER (UFO LEI KEI MING ONG). On screen the plot twisted bizarrely, off camera the cast and the crew interacted with sparks flying. Ling Man Lung and Yeung Sze Wing said in an interview that they enjoyed working together, revealing that there were plenty of jokes during filming. Yeung Sze Wing complained about being collectively "bullied", and had to surrender and seek peace. While filming a chase scene in the forest, she got injured and even turned into a doll for Ling Man Lung and Chan Charm Man, with her wheelchair turned into Ling Man Lung's toy.
Emerging directors Kwok Ka Hei and Lee Chun Kit teamed up to direct UNIDENTIFIED with a budget of 3 million. Earlier they won the White Mulberry Award for Best First Feature at the Udine Far East Film Festival in Italy, and also received Best Screenplay at the 32nd Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards. UNIDENTIFIED premiered on the 4th of this month and received positive reviews, earning about 1.5 million in total. The film tells the story of the Yeung Sze Wing played internet celebrity Man Man who uses the urban legend of 'aliens abducting humans' to prank her boyfriend Mark (Ling Man Lung), and then gets caught up in a series of bizarre and oddball events. Yeung Sze Wing and Ling Man Lung play a couple in the film and said they enjoyed working together. They had many group scenes with Lam Tsz Kit, Chan Charm Man, and Wong Tak Bun. They work together during filming and often prank each other off-screen, getting along well.
Yeung Sze Wing said everyone was naughty and mischievous, saying, "The notebook isn't big enough to list everything." Ling Man Lung revealed that Yeung Sze Wing was very boring, loved to tell rotten gags and was noisy. Lam Tsz Kit led the teasing, pretending ignore Yeung Sze Wing. Yeung Sze Wing ultimately surrendered to them. "After 20 minutes I realized no one was paying attention to me and I became invisible. I was a bit unhappy, so I had to make peace. Actually Lam Tsz Kit normally is noisier than me."
Ling Man Lung revealed that the hardworking Wong Tak Bun was a stark contrast off-camera. Rather humorous, he roasted Lam Tsz Kit with a single phrase. Yeung Sze Wing laughed and said, "Tak Bun shared that running in Tibet requires oxygen because the healthier a person is, the more likely they are to experience altitude sickness. At that moment Lam Tsz Kit tried to chat about the glory from his travels. Tak Bun walked over holding a thermos and said to Lam Tsz Kit, 'People like you would X die for sure in Tibet!' It made the whole audience burst into laughter."
Chan Charm Man showed his buttocks in the film, and Yeung Sze Wing joked that all the actors gathered in front of the camera to 'admire the moon.' 'Siu Lung (Ling Man Lung) insisted on ruining takes for Chan Charm Man, even the director joked that he wanted to pursue perfection and shoot even better.' Filming a chase scene in the forest was unforgettable for her, as she accidentally slipped and sprained her foot. The next day she insisted on working in a wheelchair. Knowing the directors' budget was limited and they had to strictly control costs, she did her best to cooperate with the shoot. After complaining about the injury, she became a puppet for Ling Man Lung and Chan Charm Man. "Siu Lung pushed my wheelchair down the slope to play with like a car. Chan Charm Man must have studied Chinese medicine. He's very familiar with pressure points, every time he precisely pressed on my ligament. It hurts a lot."
When asked if Ling Man Ling and Yeung Sze Wing would play pranks on each other with their lovers in real life? Ling Man Lung said, "I know how to have a little fun, but I don't dare to go too far like I do in acting." Yeung Sze Wing hoped her future husband would not joke too much about the proposal, saying, "I'm afraid I won't be able to handle it, I'll zone out, and won't react in time."
Ling Man Lung said the biggest prank in his life was years ago when his wallet was stolen, causing a huge uproar and leading to debt and legal disputes. He was still shaken. "My old ID card was used to borrow 300,000 from several banks. I had to go to the police station many times and explain everything to the banks. Luckily nothing happened, and I didn't have to fill in the debts. There were also further issues, involving a money laundering case. Fortunately I produced many police reports for confirmation, only then did the officers believe me. After half a year of entanglement, I felt very frustrated and my mood was terrible."
