The 64-year-old Oscar winning Best Actress Yeung Chi King set foot on the stage of the Busan Film Festival again after 15 years to receive the "Asian Filmmaker Award", and the audience applauded enthusiastically. She could not hide her excitement and said, "I feel it's deeply meaningful to be able to come to Busan again after so many years." She shared, "Looking back at my film career, one thing is very clear: no one can do it all alone. Behind every movie, there are people who believe in you, challenge you, and always wait for you." She thanked all the filmmakers she has worked with, and specifically paid tribute to directors Hui On Wa and Zhang Yimou. As for the future, she said that she would look forward to meeting new works and sharing stories. "No matter what happens in the future, I want to continue to learn, stay curious, and be the person people who believe in me can be proud of."
The Asian Filmmaker Award recognizes filmmakers who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of Asian film and culture; the Camellia Awards highlight filmmakers who have made significant contributions to the advancement of women in the Asian film industry. Yeung Chi King and Hui On Wa have been working in the film industry for decades, their works have spread internationally, and they could be described as deserving of the awards.
