Malaysian new comer Joanne Yew Hong Im (Yau Fung Yam) earlier attended the film ATM TAI FOON GEI event. Coming to work on a film in Hong Kong for the first time, her first film was the Malaysian Lunar New Year film THE JOURNEY. With her as the lead actress the film broke the box office record for a Malaysia domestic production. Yau Fung Yam admitted that she felt excited about working on a Hong Kong film. Fluent in two languages and three dialects she said, "I have no problem with Cantonese!"
Aside from film, Yau Fung Yam also would like to develop a music career. She admitted that she really liked to sing and hoped to be able to continue to work in Hong Kong. Her Malaysian accent Cantonese might even be refreshing for the audience.
