The 51th Taiwan Golden Horse Award two days ago announced its nominations. Vicki Zhao Wei with the Peter Chan Ho Sun directed, based on a real story film DEAREST was nominated for Best Actress. Currently working on a new film in the U.S. she talked about her nomination and added a photo with the director, actors and the real kidnapped child and the parents.

DEAREST made over 100 million in the Mainland was received the best online reviews. Zhao Wei also received the Golden Horse Best Actress nomination with the film. In the film she successfully shaped a farmer mother image who was persistent with finding her son with love greater than heaven.

Currently working on her new film in the U.S. Zhao Wei said that the good news was the best gift. She excitedly said, "Thank you very much to the 51st Golden Horse Award jury's recognition! Thank you Director (Peter) Chan Ho Sun for your invitation, for me to have a chance to create a character that was in sorrow everyday but often hot blooded in the film. Thank you."

Zhao Wei last year with SO YOUNG received the Golden Horse Award Best New Director nomination. This year she was nominated for Best Actress. Whether as a director or an actress, she and the Golden Horse Award have had quite a connection.
