[2014.10.06] PETER CHAN RECEIVES AWARD IN BUSAN

Director Peter Chan Ho Sun two days ago received the Star of Asia Special Achievement Award at the Busan Film Festival, the first director to receive this honor. Chan Ho Sun felt very honored and said that he would continue to make even better films. At the same time he would spend more time on working with the Asian film industry and create more variety of films. The Actor of the Year award went to the Korean master class actor Choi Min-Sik. Other award recipients included Liu Shihi and Kim Soo-Hyun.

Chan Ho Sun's latest film DEAREST was based from the real story of Peng Gaofeng's search for his son. Since its September 26 Mainland release it has made over 200 million yuan at the box office. It also earned good reviews at the Venice International Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival and the Busan International Film Festival. Reportedly this film later will participate in the London International Film Festival, Hawaii International Film Festival and the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival, as well as the 11th Hong Kong Asian Film Festival.

This year's Hong Kong Asian Film Festival will take place between October 24 and November 14. The opening film will be the Louis Koo Tin Lok and Vic Chou Yu Man and Miriam Yeung Chin Wa starred DON'T GO BREAKING MY HEART 2 (DAN SUN NAM NUI 2); the closing film will be the Eddie Peng Yu-Yen, Sammo Hung Kam Bo and Max Zhang Jin starred RISE OF THE LEGEND (WONG FEI HUNG ji YING HUNG YAU MUNG).
