Hong Kong Box Office Co. Ltd. yesterday announced the 2018 Lunar New Year film box office, from the Lunar New Year's Eve to the Lunar 3rd (February 15th to 18th), the total box office was over HK$ 64.24 million, a rise of 17.1% from the same period last year.

Foreign film BLACK PANTHER performed the best. In first place, over 4 days it made over HK$ 19.53 million and accumulated over HK$ 32.62 million; in second place AGENT MR. CHAN (DUNG DUK DUT GUNG) over 4 days made HK$ 17.55 million and accumulated over HK$ 24.19 million as it remained this year's Hong Kong Lunar New Year Chinese film box office champion. In third and fourth place were MONSTER HUNT 2 and A BEAUTIFUL MOMENT (NGOR DIK CHING DIK NUI SAI). Over 4 days they made HK$ 7.55 million and over HK$ 7.21 million respectively and both accumulated more than HK$ 9 million; MONSTER HUNT 2 in the Mainland as of February 19th accumulated 1.286 billion RMB. Another Lunar New Year film THE MONKEY KING 3 (SAI YAU GEI NUI YI GOK) in Hong Kong accumulated over HK$ 4.89 million in fifth place. In the Mainland it accumulated over 500 million RMB at the box office.
