Taiwan hunk Eddie Peng Yu-Yan yesterday attended a watch event. Next week he will join the Dante Lam Chiu Yin directed new film GUNG GUP GAU WOON (EMERGENCY RESCUE). Eddie admitted that working on Director Lam's films has been rather tough. This time he would be physically and mentally prepared. In addition Director Lam this time asked him to dive 40 meters deep, which had certain risks. Thus he would prepare fully before performing.
Peng Yu-Yan's charm filled the venue. When he waved behind the glass to fans outside, "Friends at the door how are you, Happy Halloween!" screams arose.
Eddie said that he just finished a movie and next week he will join the Dante Lam Chiu Yin directed new film GUNG GUP GAU WOON (EMERGENCY RESCUE) for a month of physical, diving and rescue training. Next month this sea rescue team film will officially start production and shoot on location in the Mainland and overseas. Eddie revealed that the director had his diving certification for years but has not used it in years. In addition the director asked him to dive to 40 meter deep, which had certain risks. He understood that more conditions would appear in water so safety would come first. He would prepare himself for the performance. Eddie said that working with Director Lam from UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN), TO THE FORE (POR FUNG), OPERATION MEKONG the productions have been very tough. Thus this time he would be fully prepared physically and mentally.
Did he have to work out for Chinese films so more foreigners would pay attention to them? He said that over a year ago when he performed fully nude in HIDDEN MAN he originally was in great shape. Yet the most recent film he had to be very thin. Thus in the next month he would have to get stronger. "Because I would have to swim, climb ropes and jump down, I have to be in a little better shape. However it's not for looking good!"
Speaking of HIDDEN MAN's representation of Mainland in the Oscar Best Foreign Film Award nomination competition, Eddie happily said, "I know, I am very happy for the director and the boss. If foreigners will be able to see it then I really will be very happy. That way foreigners will pay more attention to Chinese film and they will also know me. However more importantly the film will perform well. I will be very honored to be a part of it!"
