The Teddy Robin Kwan directed, Louis Cheung Kai Chung, DaDa Chan Jing, Kevin Cheng Ka Wing, Stephy Tang Lai Yan starred LUCID DREAMS (BAK BO BOON HEI LO OI LOK) will officially open on October 25th. The film consists of four stories about joy, anger, sorrow and happiness. JOY: WEDDING BANUQET stars Cheung Kai Chung, Chan Jing, Maria Cordero and Susan Shaw Yam Yam; ANGER: BUILDING stars Cheng Ka Wing and Xia Yan; SORROW: HAUNTED HOME stars Stephy and HAPPINESS: EAST CITY stars Andrew Lam Man Chung and Cecilia So Lai Shan. Aside from suspense, horror, action and comedy elements, the director also added some Hong Kong urban legends into the film to make this domestic fantasy film even more Hong Kong! Director Teddy Robin's creative idea came from the dull and stressful Hong Kong life and negligence of the emotions inside just to make a living. He hoped through this film the audience would be able to pick up the joy, anger, sorrow and happiness that should be in life.
Playing a sentimental and fragile children illustration artist, Stephy in SORROW: HAUNTED HOUSE segment moved to an ancestral home to live alone temporarily after a relationship change with her husband. She did not expect all the strange events at the house. In order to strengthen the film's horror and suspense atmosphere, director Teddy Robin daringly asked Stephy to appear topless and gave her first bare back performance. The director said, "When human is at its most naked, without even the sense of security from clothing, the condition would be the most horrifying." Stephy agreed with the statement and thus she agreed right away when the director asked on the day of the shoot. The director praised her professionalism. Stephy stated that it would be her sexiest on screen performance. "Basically the back was bare up to the rear. Actually it made sense in the story. I can accept suitable sexiness." Director Teddy Robin also joked that because of this scene, he unknowingly made Stephy a "Best Actress" (back shot homophone).
In addition, since the film consisted of four stories Stephy's SORROW: HAUNTED HOUSE performance was only 20 minutes long. Yet how to deliver the character's emotional scenes to the audience in 20 minutes was a new attempt for her. "Over 20 minutes I had a lot of action and fight scenes, I even tried an explosion scenes. Thus to me this production was a lot of fun."
