Jackie Chan and director Stanley Tong Kwai Lai held a Beijing press conference for their New Year film VANGUARD (GUP SIN FUNG). Tong Kwai Lai shared his production experience. When the speedboat flipped on the rocks, Jackie Chan was trapped underwater. Tong Kwai Lai was so scared that he cried on the spot! Then Jackie Chan came on shore and reacted lightly. He even made fun of Tong Kwai Lai, "It's the first time I see you cry over all these years!"
Tong Kwai Lai also recalled that when they first worked together he had no directing experience. Jackie Chan gave his the chance. Jackie Chan humorously said, "Before him, I risked my life; but after working with him, he doesn't want my life."
